Top 10 Bed and Breakfast Inns in Estepona, Spain

April 26, 2023 Veronika Gaddis

Unlike many of its coastal neighbors, cultural tradition remains strong in Estepona. With more than 12 miles (20 kilometers) of palm-fringed coastline and a historic old town famously decorated with bright blooms, this harbor town is undoubtedly one of the prettiest on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

What a lovely historic hotel close by to all the shops & restaurants Estepona has to offer. The staff was wonderful. Our room was well appointed as well as very comfortable & immaculate. Ample closet areas & a safe in room. The best part of all you park directly underneath the hotel and have a convenient elevator to bring your luggage up to your room. Breakfast was included with many tasty offerings to enjoy. This was one of the best places we stayed on our visit to Spain taking into consideration location, value, & a beautifully maintained property. Highly recommended.

A one star hotel but in a great central location. Numerous cafes (for breakfast) and restaurants nearby with the Port a 25/30 minute stroll along the promenade. Be sure to call in at the Vice versa for the best tapas, Padron peppers and aubergine with honey and balsamic vinegar, just delicious. Really friendly reception staff, rooms cleaned every day, shower was good and things like soap and cups are replaced daily. No frills but valuables can be kept at reception and there's a hairdryer available on request. We had a great stay and, if you're just looking for a base in Estepona, I'm sure you will too.

What a lovely hotel! Well signposted and easy to find. Very welcome reception with thorough advice and directions to places nearby. Its less than 2 minutes to the beautiful beach and restaurants and bars. And in the other direction the shops and restaurants are about 5 minutes' walk away. Lovely room - really well presented. We were in 404 at the top of the hotel. This was the best room as we had a great view of the sea from our balcony. Parking is plentiful and free in the street outside the hotel but if there are no spaces then there is a carpark across the road for 2e a day. This is really good value for 55e. Could have stayed for a week.

Cheap, clean, friendly

I stayed for a total of 10 nights on my own and have to say at the price point I have no complaints. Rooms are basic but I had A/C a TV and reasonable WiFi. Room 2 was cleaned every day to a nice standard. Everyone of the staff were friendly and had a ready smile for me (not something I have always experienced on the Costa Del Sol even In much more expensive hotels here). Downstairs is an Italian restaurant with a traditional pizza oven. Food was of a high quality at very reasonable prices. Even whilst writing this we are still not free from the grip of Covid-19, but the restaurant is 60-80% full each night, with many of the clientele being Spanish and hotel guests. I will definitely come back. I have been comfortable well fed and well looked after. Thank you to all the staff at Dona Matilde!

Very clean

Cannot complain about location. Excellent for restaurants beach etc . Cleaned within an inch of its life so impressed their. Our second visit we stayed last June. It was more expensive this time 355 euros for a week. Which to be honest without breakfast not sure if we will use again. Especially with the two big hotels going up in the square. Shame as it is spoiling the pretty square. Beware pigeons in the square ice cream parlour next to hostal they are very brave and can climb on your back when eating.

Huge room in top location.

Reviewed By Michael O

We really enjoyed our stay. We were put in a top floor (upgraded?) room as the one we had booked was still occupied but the room was huge, had a kitchen and a lovely huge bed. The lady that met us to give us the keys was very nice and met us within 2 mins of us calling her to say we'd arrived. The place itself is in a lovely street, close to everything that's on offer in Estepona. As it's in the old town parking could be a problem, we had a motorbike and were able to find a bike parking spot about 10 mins walk away but i think car parking maybe more of an issue.

Night from hell

Booked here last min as most of the reviews were ok, where I’m from, we have better standards, the hallway smelled of people smoking, the room was dingy, windows rotten and didn’t close, tiles falling off the walls in the bathroom. Then , went to the room around 10 and the main doorbell kept going as the lock is faulty, other guests locked out, after having to open the door for three hours I was fed up and left, stayed in Marbella, €20 more but no hassle and room perfect If your absolutely desperate you can book here but I’d still suggest not to
