Casa de Indias: excellent value
Reviewed By Serge JI stayed at the Case de Indias on a hike along the southwestern coast of Spain. It was so nice that I decided to stay two nights instead of one. The hotel is, I think, a former patrician house. It has been totally renovated and the room I had, a suite, was large and nicely decorated. There was plenty of space in the bathroom and there was absolutely everything I needed. I had breakfast on my last day, with fresh fruit and a range of local baked and dairy products. I would have tried everything on offer but I had to limit myself; I did not want to gain weight on a trip meant to help me cut my speck. Staff were highly attentive. Oh, and it was really quiet a night, a luxury in this day and age. Overall, it was excellent value for money.

Excellent food
Reviewed By GMRGibraltarJust tried the restaurant which is 100 metres from the Hostal,and to be honest very surprised at quality of the food.Typical spanish Venta style restaurant with some very interesting plates on their menu. The Carillada and Solomillo in Pedro Ximenez was great.All home made food and service is excellent. Salad was a bit over priced but apart from that prices are reasonable for the area.

Reviewed By paulasuzManager, Umberto was exceedingly helpful and accommodating. He offered tourist information and local tips. Noisy guests first night were banned from future visits and upgrade was given without being asked. Staff friendly. Room small but clean & well-appointed. Decor unique. Location: 15 minutes walk to main town center. Well worth the low cost. Will go again. ?

Santa Maria Guest House is in "the heart" of El Puerto de Santa Maria, a Very Old City in Andalucia. It is known as "the city of A Hundred Palaces". Our House is a typical "andalusian house" built in 1885 and contains all the original features. It has been recently refurbished in a very tasteful manner incorporating an atmosphere of "shabby chic" and with peace and tranquillity for all to enjoy. Each of the 10 rooms is furnished with "rest" always in mind, and where some of the bedrooms have their own private bathroom and with 2 rooms sharing a bathroom, as we want you to feel that this is your "Home"!. There is a beautiful patio/courtyard of which is typical of Andalucia, and leading from the patio, there is a little reading room full of books and magazines and in the kitchen there are facilities to cook. We provide assistance and information for all our guests and are only too delighted to help you plan trips to beautiful "Cadiz", los pueblos blancos (the white villages) and visit places "off the beaten track". We want you to enjoy your stay with us, so that you have memories of an unforgettable experience as we want to see you here again and please, tell your friends.
Best place in Puerto Santa Maria
Reviewed By robertoo308I must admit i haven't stayed in Casa de Huespedes Santa Maria. The owners have two apartments next to Casa de Huespedes and my wife and I stayed in one of them as we wanted a full house with a kitchen. We felt like at home. The place is superb, best location, spotless clean, cozy decorated, and the beds were super comfortable. Communication with the hosts (Carlos) was fluent and they were very nice to us, very educated, willing to help to for every need we had. My wife and I are demanding customers and not easy to please. Carlos excelled our highest expectations. And this is the best bang for the buck. No other place can beat it. From now on, this is THE place we'll stay when in Puerto de Santa Maria. And we go there every year.

Reviewed By Javier GBien situado, a 10 minutos andando de la playa de Valdelagrana, muy tranquilo, nosotros llegamos al hotel sobre las 3 menos mal que el restaurante estaba abierto hasta las 4 y allí pudimos comer algo, los camareros muy atentos. Por la noche se está muy cómodo tomando una copa en la terraza.

Great deal right in the centre of town
Reviewed By Sarah CThis is a Hostal, but the description of "small hotel" fits well. Comfortable, functional room and bathroom. Light and airy. €5 breakfast is great value. Staff friendly and helpful. A short walk to the main streets of the old town with many bars and restaurants, and to the dock for the Cadiz ferries. There's no parking by the hotel: you could be lucky in the street nearby (we were on arrival). Otherwise there's a secure underground park within 100m (€4.95 for 24 hours). Room rate of €30 great value. If we are in El Puerto again, we would almost certainly stay here.

Our rooms with en-suite facilities (double, twin, single and family) are fitted out with all modern technologies to ensure that your stay with us will be a pleasant one at a reasonable price.Nothing is lacking in our accommodation that you would find in a hotel of higher category (acclimatisation, safety deposit, parking, personal attention).
No place like Hostal Costa Luz!

From the start, the general manager went above and beyond to accommodate us, arriving at 9 am to let us leave our suitcases in the hostel before heading down to the beach (15 minute walk) despite check-in being at noon. He was welcoming and made sure to give us a map taking the time to indicate where the bus stop was (3 minute walk from the hostel) and which buses to take to get to Valdelagrana and Las Redes beaches. When we reached our room it was modern, clean and very pleasant. All the facilities such as the air conditioning, hot water, toilet were all in peak condition. The manager offered us a complimentary breakfast after our luggage had been placed in the wrong rooms, but which was all sorted by the time we arrived later and was a lovely gesture that we would be frequently gifted with. On the third night of our stay, we found ourselves in a sticky situation where a visiting friend was left without a place to stay. Like a hero hostel in shining armour, Hostal Costa Luz was amazing and fitted an extra bed in the room for a small additional cost, helping make our holiday the very best experience possible. We stayed for five nights - the cleaning service was stellar, the customer service unparalleled and overall made our visit have all the comfort of staying with family without any of the downsides! A big thank you from three very satisfied and happy customers!

Expectacular y trato exquisito

Una antigua casa Indiana del siglo 17 totalmente restaurada conservando los materiales originales y situada en el centro del Puerto de Santa Maria, con lo que tiene una situación privilegiada ademas de tener una decoración original de la casa. El trato no ha podido ser mejor con una atención exquisita que hace que te sientas superagusto. La habitaciones son muy grandes con cama King size y colchones supercomodos. Los baños nuevos y muy amplios, Aire acondicionado, etc.. Todo muy nuevo y limpio. Entre la situación de la casa, la comodidad y la simpatia de los anfitriones y la persona que nos recepciono , hacen que sea una experiencia muy aconsejable. Volveré seguro.
