We expect to return for a fourth stay in 2023

The accommodations (Wellfleet Room) were very nice. Our room overlooked the patio and back yard. It was very quiet. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. And if you needed something, like sunscreen, an umbrella, a cold drink, etc, you could just help yourself. The best part of staying at the Village Inn is the reception and attention paid to you by Claire and Robin, the Innkeepers. Although this was our third visit to the Inn in four years, and we have visited the Cape many times in past years, with their help we found two or three new attractions to explore. And, both Robin and Claire seemed genuinely interested in hearing about our day. On top of all this, the location, above a neighborhood that is great for walking, including a small shore area offering beautiful views of the bay side of the Cape, and great sunsets, is pretty much perfect for us. Thank you Claire and Robin!

An inn that doesn’t disappoint

What do look for in an unforgettable getaway? ——- comfortable surroundings, friendly and caring hosts and staff, and a delicious breakfast. My expectations were far surpassed on all counts. Everyone went out of his way to accommodate me and make me feel pampered. When I booked my reservations, I had asked whether the advertised blueberry pancakes were still on the menu. They made a note of that and made sure I didn’t leave without making my wishes a reality. And the pancakes were scrumptious! An experience to remember.

I just completed an overnight stay at The Anchor Inn Beach House and had an excellent time! Chris and Michael are the most gracious hosts and kindly assisted me with an unexpected reservation change due to a flight cancellation. The property is located in the heart of town, just minutes from a variety of bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops. The property is very well maintained and the room was very comfortable. The deck was an added bonus. A continental breakfast is offered daily in the lobby and trays are available if you’d prefer to dine in your room. I look forward to a future stay!

Captain's House Inn

A most distinctive Cape Cod bed and breakfast, the Captain's House Inn is regarded by many respected lodging reviewers as perhaps "The Cape's" finest small inn. This four-diamond sea captain's estate on two acres in Chatham, Massachusetts is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat from the workaday world. Adults only.

This hotel is overrated

Reviewed By stuartf537

We stayed in this hotel because it was so highly rated. It’s a pretty colonial house outside of Chatham. Our room was the garden room, a small room outside of the main house. For the price it’s is not unreasonable to expect some luxury and refinement , expect to be disappointed. The WiFi worked intermittently and was slow. The TV worked on one channel. This is a glorified guest house so there are no hotel services, at night a number is available to call assistance. On arriving the young manager explained that we should expect a great breakfast served in the conservatory, Again expect to be underwhelmed. The room is functional not stylish. The breakfast is served by untrained people from a menu that is less than special. On our last day it took an hour for breakfast to served and it was poorly cooked and presented. The staff seemed overwhelmed by five tables. Our bill for three days was nearly $1000. Allowing for this being an expensive part of the world this is poor value. The atmosphere is amateurish and more about charm than service and value for money. This place is overpriced and overrated.
