Valencia Hotel

Mixed feelings as hotel management was rude but lovely staff

Reviewed By modoubeyai1

One of my worst hotel nightmares and that's thanks to the hotel management. I checked in to the hotel with my friend (2 rooms) on the 26th April, paid the entire amount for 11 nights with a receipt given. Surprisingly enough, I received email from Booking.com that my reservation at Valencia Hotel was cancelled as the hotel "notified us that you didn’t check-in on 2022-04-26" which was false. Took up the issue with the management and receptionists but no help. Before receiving that email, we managed to change our check-out date for the 4th of May with a refund for two days due to us only for the management to say it's not possible even after they got notified by Booking.com. I observed through guests coming that the hotel accepts booking only for you to appear and they said 'no booking found' leaving guests astounded. The only nice people at the hotel were the receptionists and the restaurant staff but their management is of no help and are scammers. They cancel your reservation mid-way, make you lose whatever rewards you're expecting from Booking.com only for them to fail to pay their dues. Never can stand a scammer management like the Valencia Hotel one. Be careful!

The fresh towels and the linen are available 24 hours for free, 24 hour hot water in the private bathrooms inside the rooms and the shared bathrooms.

Not as good as the brochure and reviews

Reviewed By nilintentum_reliquit

Mixed feelings with this place. Good location with comfortable bed and a convenient airport pick up. That said the floor blackened our feet, the curtains had a strange smell and without a shower curtain or mat the small bathroom always had a wet floor. The pictures I think are very dated as the common seating area has seen a lot of traffic, is dusty, uncomfortable and not a pleasant place to have the breakfast of bread, jam and cheese. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Tahrir Plaza Suites

Tahrir Plaza Suites is a boutique hotel inspired by ancient Egyptian history. The core theme of the guestrooms’ design is based on four legendary Egyptian gods (Amun-ra, Horus, Osiris & Anubis) and two goddesses (Hathor & Isis), who were worshipped with devotion during the era of the pharaohs and who also became the center point of numerous beliefs and rituals of the ancient Egyptian religion. Unlike conventional hotels, Tahrir Plaza aims to provide guests with a unique and personalized experience. It is for this reason that the hotel has only six suites, which are entirely different from each other and were carefully decorated always caring for the most minimum details such as wall colors, bed design, bathroom tiles and more.

Mixed bag

If you live old world charm, this is the place. The bones are beautiful - a cage elevator, grand front doors, worn marble steps, balconies, floor to ceiling windows. Lively, and very nicely decorated. Beds are good, great wifi and air con, and conveniently above shops that sell snack and cheap water. Also a great, walkable location (and easy to grab an Uber). The glassed in bathrooms are a creative solution and quite lovely. But they are really only ideal for people who are okay seeing each other on the toilet. Maybe not for besties, or work colleagues, or your dad. The arranged driver was lovely and waited when we were delayed at airport. And staff Wafaa deserves to be rewarded for her courtesy, attentiveness, and competence. The only real downside, and the reason we only enjoyed 1 included breakfast, was being cornered for the hard-sell by owner Mustafa. He wanted to change our current plans and pressed us to go to his other property so he could redesign our whole trip. PUSHY. This was so annoying and rude that we have cancelled our plans to return to this hotel at the end of our trip. Just to avoid this dude. Really too bad.

1920s Boutique Hotel and Restaurants

At the historic Villa of Ya'akobian in the heart of Heliopolis, lies a boutique hotel and it is one of the oldest and most authentic places built in Cairo. It was converted into the 1920's Boutique Hotel which is situated in a central and beautiful area of Korba. It incorporates a blend of the finest restaurants such as Carlo's, The Smokery, IL Divino and Ocea to name but a few and this makes it a destination that provides an outstanding and private atmosphere, that can satisfies all tastes. Just the place you need to enjoy a special “retro” taste. The Hotel combines a variety of stylish and luxurious twin & king size rooms plus one king size suite with a mix of traditional and old world charm and in room facilities.

A hidden jewel in the heart of New Cairo

The first part of this is a review for those who want to know (in a glance) what to expect at 1920s Boutique Hotel. The rest is a short essay about one of the best experiences I had in my life! My review is: 1920s Boutique Hotel is your "home" away from home. Professional and friendly staff, great service, lovely rooms, cozy place, positive and relaxing vibes, soft and comfy linen (Egyptian cotton I'm sure). If you're looking for a place where you want to be comfortable and at ease, this is the place for you. The noise coming from ground floor can be a bit overwhelming, but it didn't bother me whatsoever. All in all, I enjoyed the offering of the restaurants there. Great food! For those who are willing to know a bit more, keep reading. I requested special things in the room but I did not have any expectations ( I was only hoping). I was amazed, in fact I was shocked, gobsmacked when all my requests were met! The amazing John, Amir & Super Ramzi took the extra mile (perhaps ten extra miles) to make my requests happen! I walked into that place as a guest, and I left as a friend! The best experience, ever!
