Jeremiah's Tavern

We visited on a Tuesday night. As others have noted, we waited despite seeing many empty tables. We were told 20 minutes but only waited about 7. I found the menu to offer something for everyone: burgers, steak tips, taco, pulled pork, wings. A nice variety. Our server, Janae, was good and patient, and filled our waters often. She checked on us a sufficient amount. My pulled pork was tender but didn't really have enough sauce - I simply asked for more. It was served on a piece of bread that got mushy in five seconds flat. That was puzzling. The cornbread was ok, a little overcooked on both the top and bottom. The sweet potato fries were good. My husband enjoyed his taco sampler and my mom enjoyed her patty melt with mushrooms and friend onions. Overall we were satisfied. We will return. I'm sick of Italian or Chinese as my only choices, so this is a nice change.

The family (2 adults 2 kids) stopped in for lunch (weekday at 11:30) and the place was empty (they had just opened for the day). BBQ bacon burger was juicy, cooked to order and tasty. Garlic cheese bread was good. French onion soup was mostly cheese and bread - in a good way - quite flavorful and filling. The chicken tenders were reported to be "great." They don't have a kids menu but have lots of things they prepare for kids. Lots of TVs, WiFi, full bar, patio (small) seating. Live music Friday and Saturday nights (10PM).

Fairfields Bar & Grill

We were looking for a relaxed atmosphere with decent food. Maybe our expectations were too high on the latter. We were seated quickly on a Saturday night in a comfortable, clean booth (though you could smell the odor of a common disinfectant universally used in restrooms and floors). It was quiet and not crowded. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the night. Prime rib is a special every Saturday, and 2 of us ordered that. The dinner rolls that came out quickly and warm (warmer than the entree) were delicious and the best part of the dinner. The prime rib was barely warm, had a faint but distinct odor of meat that was old/starting to turn, was a strange color, and was pretty tough and stringy. My dining partner and I ate a few bites (and did not get sick from it), but really could not eat it. The frozen vegetables that accompanied it were ok (again not very warm), but when I asked for a second helping (because I couldn't eat the meat), the second batch was partially frozen. The soup I got (lentil and sausage) was edible, and in the end I ate it because I was hungry. It had a two very small bits of sausage, and another tiny bit of meat that clearly wasn't sausage. My 3rd dining partner had a chicken salad that was mediocre, but edible. Since neither I nor my friend ate our prime rib, I was expected to be compensated for at least one of the meals (and all I asked for to replace it was a scant amount of frozen uncooked vegetables), but we were charged the full price for both meals. From the majority of good reviews I see here, perhaps it is safer to order the bar type food.

This is a fairly standard Applebee's but seems darker and more speak-easy inside. The staff are friendly, quick and helpful. I like the appetizers; they have an excellent boneless wings app with honey bbq -- Yummy!. Good bbq brisket tacos with a Mexican twist (dressing instead of sauce); but maybe better without that twist. Nice crispy fries with a little seasoning. The coleslaw was dry, vinegar based tasted off.

Return visit to this restaurant/bar in an historic building on the Erie Canal. As before, t service was quick and friendly and the food came out hot. I was there on Friday, so I had fish fry. The Fish Fry was lightly battered and tasty but it was tough - hard to cut through the skin with a knife and the meat was chewy. The French fries were limp. The Cole slaw tasted odd. I'll go back for the Prime Rib, not the fish.

Noonan's Pub

Had dinner there with my husband. Half of the place is pure sports bar scene, the other half is sit-down restaurant. Great selection of beers and mixed drinks. Clam chowder was good, my husband thought his beef on weck lacked a bit of crunch and needed more salt on the bun but overall was good. My hot pastrami sandwich was very good. Friendly and prompt service, good value. Would go there again.

The Pub is great for both lunch and dinner. Located in the Perinton Wegmans parking lot, the Pub is responsive to allergies, willing to make accommodations for the customer and produces good drinks and excellent food at a fair price. Try the housemate pretzels served with a beer cheese sauce. Delicious. Ditto for the fish tacos.

It wasn't too crowded on a recent Saturday evening when we stopped in for dinner. I've heard that Friday nights for the fish fry can be absolutely jammed. We did have to wait 20 minutes or so for a table though it appeared some tables were empty. Once seated our waitress was very efficient getting us our food and drinks. The menu is pretty big with both typical tavern fare and some real Irish specialties. We both ordered the beef on weck - it was a solid sandwich. The roll was excellent. The onion rings were good for being breaded, though I prefer beer battered. And the fries were huge.Overall a good choice in Fairport.

A must stop in the village of Fairport, just north of the Erie Canal. Excellent food, the service is great and a very comfortable place to sit and relax for a beer, snack, lunch, or dinner. A wife range of choices to eat and the portions are above average. We love visiting Donnelly's. Right next door is a great place for pizza: TKs. A must stop as well!
