Loved the French toast much and desserts. My hubby ordered sweet potato fries and my gf ordered waffles , but it was already cold. So immediately spoke to the Manager and immediately he took action and replaced it. Appreciate that he himself served it to us. This is why I’m only giving it a 4 star. We're sorry to hear that your visit was not off to the best start, Andrea! We will be sure to follow up on this with our team and we're glad you enjoyed the rest of your experience! Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to your next visit!

We planned this dinner to celebrate our youngest daughter’s college graduation. We were a little apprehensive following the GPS to back end of a partially vacant strip mall parking lot only to find a packed parking lot in front of the restaurant, even at nearly 9pm. We were seated immediately and asked for our drink orders. Server was very accommodating letting me taste wines before ordering. Food, especially the steak was superb. Service was excellent though a bit slow at the end which may be due to the fact it was so late. This is a must visit place for both couples, families and friends night out.

The best skillet omelets I've eaten. The boss n staff are awesome. Always busy there. My favorite is the chicken and leek frittata with little bit of hot sauce OMG. Mmmmmm mmmmmm good. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes eating breakfast anytime of the day. P.S. they have other great stuff on their menu but I go there just for the breakfast items. So if you're in Carl Place and you're hungry go visit them. They won't disappoint you .I use to eat breakfast at diners and then I tried this place. Never went to a diner to eat breakfast again.

My sixth year anniversary was a day to remember. The atmosphere in this restaurant was amazing. Quiet, cozy, and clean. Everyone ftom the host to the gentleman that removed and replaced the dishes on tables were extremely nice. We started with the famous bacon on the clothes pins. All I can say is it's worth the trip just for the bacon if you wanted to go. The portions were on point, the potatoes with lobster was just that a potatoe with lobster take. My lamb chops were tender and filing cooked just right. They were served with a gravy not the norm. Usually you get mint jelly and that's it. My husband's steak was tender and aged to perfection. Overall I enjoyed the day, the restaurant, and the service. Oh! They have a lounge off of the dinner area. You cannot heart anything coming from that side. Beautiful place loved it!Thank you for your amazing feedback about your sixth anniversary dining experience in Red Salt Room by David Burke. Chef Burke sets the bar very high in both culinary and service standards, and I'm delighted both exceeded expectations throughout your dinner. Clothesline Bacon is a Burkean culinary superstar enjoyed by all and many guests echo your feeling that it alone is worth making the trip to RSR - it is THAT good! I am pleased we contributed toward making a special day even more memorable for you and we hope to have the pleasure of hosting year seven for you.

The Capital Grille

Reviewed By k g

My most recent visit to Capital Grille was disappointingly subpar. Having dined here and the Rockefeller location on a few occasions I expected a wonderful dining experience, unfortunately we had the complete opposite experience. I made a reservation for my friends birthday. Capital Grille is normally one of her favorite restaurants, so we figured a shopping trip and dinner would be the perfect way to celebrate. I made a reservation for 7pm, which was confirmed. We arrived promptly and were escorted to a table, we passed a booth (no reserved sign on it) so we asked the hostess if we could sit there. She said she would check and that we could sit there while we waited. She came back and said we didn’t reserve a booth so we couldn’t have that table??? Hmm, i advises her I had actually asked for a booth when they called to confirm. The hostess replied “okay sit here” and walked away. The waiter brought us our menus. We were discussing the drink menu when all of a sudden the male host comes over in a huff saying that we didn’t reserve a booth and if we want a booth we have wait in the lobby until one is available! I was shocked by his rudeness and the forcefulness of his statement. I immediately got up and went to the hostess station and asked to speak with the manager. The manager did apologize and we remained at the table, but honestly the entire situation was disappointing. Our waiter Sheik, was wonderful and the food & drinks were good, but after my experience, and with the way we were treated I doubt i will return. With so many other good steak houses on Long Island I will stick with Del Frisco, Teller’s or Peter Lugers where they value their guests and treat them with respect. If you choose to dine here, please know you must request a booth if you want one, and that you run the risk of being treated rudely. It is incredibly disappointing to hear your friend's birthday experience was overshadowed like that, k g. This was a special evening and we would have wanted everything to be perfect - much like the experiences you mentioned having with us and in Rockefeller in the past. I am thankful we had the opportunity to address things that evening, but wanted to extend this invitation to connect as well. We value you as our guest and hope to do everything we can to restore your confidence. Here is my email address if I can be of any assistance - [email protected] the best.

Crabtrees Restaurant

Mediterranean/Continental/Restaurant

Reviewed By LITTLESTAR1941

This visit to Crabtrees was our first since it opened. Mediterranean/American style is not my first choice for eating out. But to make the wife happy and our friend happy since it was her birthday and our 50th anniversary. The service is excellent with water being repeatedly refilled and the crumbs removed very quickly. The 1st thing that annoyed me was this pesky fly throughout the whole time we were at the table. No one is going take swats during a meal so I have no solution. The front door is constantly being opened. My 2nd problem (and I know it is my fault), was the vegetables. Each dish comes with mashed potato and a mix of vegetables like yellow and green zucchini, stringbeans, and pieces of broccoli(ugh) and some slices of beets (ugh 2).For starters our friend had the buratta salad and i shared the escargot with wifey. That came in the full shell on a plate of garlic sauce which is what makes this dish so good. For main course our friend had the darla's chicken, wife had the salmon and I had the porterhouse style 16 ounce pork chop. The chop was huge and covered with sauteed peppers and onions. The chop was very good but I probably would have been happier had I stuck with my first thought of getting 2 appetizers and a salad. I studied the menu and really wanted the calamari plate and the escargot with a salad.Appetizers and salads run from $11-15 while most main dishes run in the teens to 30+.When we arrived the place was not too filled but when we left on a Sunday nite , it was packed. If you are still hungry for dessert, get the gelato.

Bigelow's New England Fried

Reviewed By Gil Z

I'm out in New York for work and the first region I was at is the Long Island Area. The hotel clerk recommended a restaurant and I was going to go there but there was a dress code. Shorts was not one of those on the list for acceptable. Got on my iPhone and started to search and saw Bigelow's New England Fried Clams was not far away. Drove up and walked right in, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was just cool. The service was top notch, someone was always making sure us customers were being attended too and cups were always filled with whatever drink it was. The regulars were fun to listen to and the owner and son were there and they were chatting it up. It was a great experience and real nice to see that there are business out there that still take care of their customers.I ordered the Clams and fries and was so glad I did. Great fresh taste, a lot of clam strips by the way. Just overall good food, everything that I saw coming out looked really really good. By the way, being in New York I was torn to order Manhattan or New England style clam chowder, I went with the New England, WOW, it was screaming. Tasty and just damn good. If I come back out here again, would love for my famliy to come to this national landmark!!! Place has been there for over 80 years. Wishing them another 80. Thanks for a great experience and for the fantastic food!!

I love burgers but this one looked very nice and was perfect medium rare...but totally dry and difficult to swallow. The rolls on our burgers were huge, but sweet (not s great accompaniment to meat). And they considered charging for fresh onion. Huh? My husband’s turkey burger deluxe needed a reminder to bring the included onion rings. I must say the fries were fabulous... burning hot, freshly made.
