Saw this restaurant listed as number two of the ten best breakfast places in Middletown area so we decided to try it. Not sure how long itâs been around, but weâve been missing out! We will definitely be back. Went this morning and had a maple banana nut waffle â to die for, and Reuben scramble. Both were delicious. The home fries were outstanding â crispy and deliciously seasoned.

My wife and I joined three other people for dinner at 2 Hopewell to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of our dear friends. As soon as we felt the quiet ambience of the dining room, we suspected we were in the right place. The moment we were greeted by Caesar, our server, we were sure of it.From the Chopin martinis to the wine, from the burrata we all shared to start to each of our entrees, from our friend's birthday Creme Brûlée to the rest of our desserts, everything was as classy as it was delicious.Treat yourself (or a friend). Try it.

We joined another couple for dinner on a Friday night. The place was a somewhat crowded so service was a bit slower than we would have liked, but still OK. Of the four meals, the veal pesto was outstanding. The meat was tender and moist, just like it should be. The pork loin was very good. Chicken was nothing super special. Good, but not enough to order again. So overall, very good. Definitely worth a return visit. A bit out of the was so make sure you look for it.

This is a popular spot with locals as well as out-of-towners.Tom, the owner is usually on hand to chat, which only enhances the amazing experience. Stopped for happy hour (3-5 M-F) with family/friends. The restaurant itself is bright and cheerful. The booths hold 6 comfortably. Bar chairs are padded with a high back. The bar itself "loops" around at on end - a favorite feature of mine - it enhances interaction with other patrons (vs. sitting in a straight line, which doesn't easily accommodate discussions beyond those to your immediate left or right). There are a number of flat screen TVs around the bar/restaurant area. On the walls are shirts and pictures of a number of famous Boston team players, including shirts of Orr, Brady, Bird, plus a picture Ortiz upside down as he went over the wall to catch a ball.. To see the large selection of comfort foods and entrees, i suggest you go on-line and look at the menus. During Happy Hour, there is a selection of "full size" apps for $5; domestic beer (16 oz.) $2, premium $3; house wines $4. They are simply too numerous to list here, including seasonal specialities.Michelle, the bartender the afternoon we were there, is professional, attentive, friendly.Most bars/pubs have the same or similar line of comfort foods and drinks - one differentiator being the staff - in this case Michelle - she made us feel like family - we will return.

Amazing food and amazing service. The best breakfast experience I've had in a while. Stood on a line for it and was not disappointed. Owner came out and gave my wife and the other women tea and biscuits while we waited and anyone who wanted a coffee got it as well. The wait was not more than 15 minutes.

Celebrating a small reunion of friends and the staff was wonderful. They gave us a great table to enjoy conversation and the wait staff were excellent and pleasant. The food was absolutely scrumptious. We completely enjoyed the portobello mushroom and eggplant appetizer as well as the calamari. Our entrees were delicious. We all enjoyed a different meal, and the presentation of the pork loin was beautiful as well as delicious. I was torn between ordering the spinach gnochi or the mushroom ravioli and I was delighted with the mushroom ravioli. We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter brought our dessert with the cutest candle. Such a delightful place. Easy access to the highway right on Main Street and perfect parking in the free lot next to the restaurant. We will return!

Celtic is a very special place, and always my first choice for both dining or grabbing a drink at the bar, with family or friends, for social or business. The food is unbelievable (thanks, Bill), and the house is the friendliest ever (thanks, Brandon). And the staff is professional, attentive, and just fun and welcoming. Got off the highway looking for a place to eat breakfast and we really lucked out with the Cromwell Diner! Service was excellent and the prices really inexpensive for very good food!! How about 2 eggs over easy with an English muffin for $4! Our food was fresh and tasty and served quickly as well! Place is right off I-91 almost midway between New Haven and Hartford...worth a stop- and they also have clean rest rooms!!
