I wasn't interested in the buffet, although it looked like a pretty good selection. Ordered off the menu, but it was obvious not many people do. Just had the chicken straps but it was still way more than I could eat. Very reasonably priced for the size of the meal.

Old fashioned style burgers done right. Juicy flavorful meat, fresh fresh fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Blue Cheese Burger and Patty Melt were spot on. While I prefer my patty melts on rye it's a small thing. The blue cheese on the burger was notably good.I was surprised to see Malt Vinegar fries on the the menu and even more surprised that they were so delicious. Maybe we'll see Poutine on the menu soon. Can't wait to return and enjoy a banana split. Not the cheapest burger in Alvin but certainly the best and the quality represents value.

Of Six visits, 2 were fine. Nothing spectacular, but fine. On my second visit I was not greeted or sat. We left when a couple behind us were greeted and sat. On another visit, our wait staff disappeared. I know places have training issues, off days, etc. We gave them another chance. The fish sandwich was mediocre, at best. I did like the gumbo.... It isn't an OMG! experience, but it was pleasant. In short, if you are a local place - be friendly. Don't over cook the sea food. Use the correct temp of oil to keep it from being greasy. Bread should never be stale. I wasn't asking for the world. As a local, I really wanted this place to be fantastic. We skip this place and hit the KC Hall on fish fry Fridays, instead.

This is a really friendly neighborhood country eats place. They have a great breakfast 24 hours and usually good service with plenty of hot coffee and ice tea! It's kind of like a small town version of a "Black-eyed Pea" for those that remember that chain. I love their biscuits and gravy and the cinnamon rolls are HUGE. The cook their eggs to order RIGHT also, which is hard to find these days. My lunch favorites are the chicken fried steak sandwich ... and ask for the homemade potato chips to go with it ... they're great ... and the open faced roast beef sandwich.

I'm not sure when the latest owners took over but they have kept all of the best from the menu and added a few other items. I love the Toro burger. It is a bigger burger for this place with a higher price, but it is worth it in my opinion.Service isn't fast. They cook to order. It can get busy on certain nights. If you can get a to go menu and call your order in. Then wait at home for 15-20 minutes and go pick up your food.If you order there just go back and sit in your car and listen to the radio for a bit while they make your food. There is outside seating. No inside seating. My wife still always gets the Tortilla Burger. A burger served between two fried tortillas. My daughter loves the steak finger basket.

Our server was absolutely delightful! It’s what one expects from a small town restaurant , but it’s always a delight! The food was tasty, especially the Snickers pie! The portions are good and the prices are reasonable. Make this your choice over the chain restaurants and you will not be disappointed!

We drove from Richmond, Texas to get the beef ribs since my wife and I remember them being incredible. Well, they were incredible and memorable this time--INCREDIBLY BAD!!!! The ribs were COLD as in being at room temperature and they had a burnt flavor to them. I know the difference between having a crust on them and being burnt. I sent the first ones back to get a second batch. They were the same way-COLD. We also had a salad from their salad bar. The eggs were rubbery. In fact, I dropped some of them tray and table and they bounced like a piece of rubber. My wife commented the food tasted like it was old. She also noticed no one had gotten the ribs so she thought they were all left-overs from the day before. We ordered a hamburger for my son and told them not to do the kid’s burger. Unfortunately, I did not look at the ticket to see they actually gave him a kid’s burger. My son really wanted their mac -n- cheese as a side so I got it for him. After a few bites, he was sorry he asked for it as it tasted bad to him. The entire experience was so bad we agreed never to go again. We thought this experience would have been better than the previous experience we had earlier and it turned out to be very similar. Joe’s might have been good years ago, yet now it is nothing like it was. There are many BBQ places in and around Houston so we will not miss not going to Joe’s again.
