The 3 day tour includes the Danakil Depression, Dallol, the salt mine, and Earta'le Volcano. Usually to visit this place it will take up to 4 days, but our tour will start in a different direction, and we make it one day less than the usual tour, which is the same tour as the 4 day tour. On in the 3rd day you will return back to Mekele late afternoon, there is also an option to fly back to Addis in the evening.

Adis is great guide with huge knowledge of archeology and history. He answered all my questions and we had very nice talk about all the important places and museums we visited during our tour. We were in oldest restaurant in Adis Abeba with special atmosphere and delicious food, for people who want to try something unusual ask about honey wine there. Also we visited oldest caffe shop where you can buy nice coffee and have a talk. Thank you Adis ????????

We did a three days/ two nights tour in Danakil with a group. The tour itself was fantastic and the places more than impressive. Car and driver were perfect; sleeping facilities (outside) very OK. The guide was very helpful and has a good communication skills and was helping us a lot. The food was very tasty. Generally good value for the money and a very good experience.

I’m reviewing my tour with Yama Tours which, because of the pandemic, did not happen. It is important to chose a reputable tour operator and one you can trust. Our tour had to be cancelled because of both the pandemic and civil unrest. In these situations, you are concerned about your deposit. Yama Tours could not have been more thorough, trust worthy or understanding. Hopefully, within a year, we will be able to rebook our trip with them, having dealt with them in adversity, we look forward to joining them once situations allow, Ethiopia is a travel ambition and we couldn’t be happier to enjoy it in the capable hands of Yama Tours!

Without doubt one of the favourite tour guides inn Ethiopia. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Mass Ethiopia tour , our names were mentioned on the board and we felt welcomed and with such a friendly atmosphere we had a fantastic start! The guide and tour was extremely good, very flexible (appreciate this!) and for that he deserves a special thanks. We had two great days there, which obviously also added up to the experience. Mastewal is such a warm personality and highly motivated guide (recommendable!). The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to all of us. Family of 6 did a 3 day, 2 night tour in Danakil Depression. The region is stunning but before getting there we were worried about the basic accommodation/ infrastructure (e.g. sleeping on mattresses under the stars and lack of toilets) since my parents are 60+. However Tesfa (one of the owners and our guide) organised everything extremely well. He ensured everything was clean and the food was cooked well and to our taste. He planned the tour very well so we were walking at night or early morning when it wasn't very hot and then driving in AC cars in the heat of the day. He also tried to organise so we would get to places first or when there were not many people so we could enjoy the full natural beauty. He is very knowledgable and looked after us very well. He cares a lot about the local people and supporting them in a positive way, which we appreciated a lot. The drivers, chef and whole team were very good. I would highly recommend Magma Flow Tours for a tour to Danakil. They are based in Mekele and specialise in these tours so are a great company to choose for your trip!

This tour includes the world famous 11 rock cut Lalibela churches and the very special Danakil Tour to the permanent active volcano Erta Ale, the hottest spot on this planet and also the lowest place on earth. Apart from those highlights you will see and smell Sulphur lakes, watch salt cutting workers in the desert and camel- caravans plodding in the sand. The conditions are not easy- the oldest customer we had was a 73 year old lady though. Anyway, also this tour calls for fit people.

I had a 2 day tour (April 29-30) of the Lalibela churches with Achenef Enegdaw as my tour guide. I saw several churches when I arrived. Stayed over night and saw the remainder the next morning before I flew back to Addis Ababa. He was an outstanding tour guide steeped in the history and religion of the churches. He was excellent and filled me with information as we walked through and around the 11 rock hewn churches. It was one of the great experiences of my adult life. I have been traveling in Africa for almost 30 years, and have never has such a profound emotional and spiritual experience as I did in Lalibela.
