Things to do in State of Bahia, Brazil: The Best Paint & Pottery Studios

February 20, 2022 Janean Rudisill

Bahia (locally [baˈi.ɐ]) is one of the 26 states of Brazil and is located in the northeastern part of the country on the Atlantic coast. It is the 4th-largest Brazilian state by population (after São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro) and the 5th-largest by area. Bahia's capital is the city of Salvador (formerly known as "Cidade do São Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos", lit. "City of Holy Saviour of All Saints Bay"), located on a spit of land separating the Bay of All Saints from the Atlantic. Once a monarchial stronghold dominated by agricultural, slaving, and ranching interests, Bahia is now a major manufacturing center whose last three elections have been dominated by the Workers' Party.

I work as a freelance photographer in reporting with agencies and travel magazines for which I write and photograph. I teach photography for 5 years in Europe, Asia and New York. I like to share my passion for photography and see students progress in this wonderful art. Traveling is second nature to me, I would like to make you enjoy my adopted city in an original way.

I graduated in Film and Audiovisual, but my very passion is for great stories! Be real or in fiction! Inspired by all the cultural production on Salvador and Bahia and supported by the historical facts, I want to take you to know and register the Black Rome from my photographic look and my experience both in downtown and in the upper city! Also know my channel on Youtube How to Get Here (www.youtube.com/canalcomochegar) with several tips about Salvador!
