Reviewed By kiberlydThis property is beautiful, however I had some concerns. Beaufort Hotel is a large property and on the water there is NO security personal on site and for a single mother traveling that did not sit well with me. The two options for parking your vehicle was to Valet ($15.00) per day and had vehicle taken to a unsecured not well lit parking deck that was not monitored by staff so if you needed something out of your vehicle at night you had to walk to your car in some not well lit areas with no escort. Option two was again to park down the road in a parking lot with very little light on gravel. For a property of this size with so much potential please don't let security and safety be a downfall. Staff were amazing from guest services with Hailey and Ryan to the staff at 34 North, I had a wonderful experience just felt a little uneasy with not having security or safety team onsite.

Hotel Cashiers is a fully renovated, upscale and conveniently located old-school motor lodge, just a brief walk from the center of Cashiers, and a short drive from Lake Glenville, Highlands and Sapphire and nearby attractions in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. We are also walking distance to three of Cashiers' best restaurants. Our new lobby offers a modern and relaxing setting with boutique wines, provisions and gift items while the hotel offers among the largest rooms in town including rooms with one King bed and rooms with two double beds. All rooms include complimentary parking, free high-speed Internet access, cable TV, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, hairdryers, irons & ironing boards. Guests can also enjoy scenic outdoor seating under charming patio lights. We are a pet friendly hotel and allow pets with prior notice.

Reviewed By SkiimanAbsolutely the best place to stay in Franklin! Host is very courteous, rooms have WiFi and TV, private bathroom, breakfast is very good, and dining area is superb/historical. The best part is that there is both an upstairs wrap-around balcony and a downstairs large porch. You can't find it better. And it's right in the middle of downtown, you can walk to everything. Can't overstate how good the host is! Would stay again 10/10.

They even packed us yummy little food boxes because we were going out on our fishing tour too early to stay for the delicious breakfast that particular morning. We really couldn’t be any more pleased!

Reviewed By awbuzzGreat bed, nice size room, nice kitchenette, good breakfast options - instant oatmeal, bagels, toast, waffles eggs, sausage (turkey and pork options), hot chocolate, coffee, tea, milk, juices, yogurt, muffins, boiled eggs, nice topping options for oatmeal/waffle or on their own; peacans, walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries, brown sugar, and some other stuff. Convenient to the BRP and Blowing Rock.

Reviewed By jrclem18The owner(s) have done a wonderful job in getting The Colonial Inn back into operation and it was a pleasure to visit. We stayed in a room in the annex just behind the main building and it was very fine. While not to discourage a visitor, there are some points to consider. Parking is a big one. The street parking may be free, but it is first come, first served. There is a small bar/restaurant, but seating, the hours, and menu is limited. The food we had was very good and there are other options a few steps away on the main street, except for breakfast. There did not seem to be anything around you could walk to for breakfast. Coffee, so often taken for granted in most hotels, is limited to only a few hours in the morning. The staff will bring coffee to the room in the morning if you ask. The staff are great. Harley, the host we talked to, and the person at reception, were very friendly and helpful. It is a bit puzzling, however, that they do not wear uniforms or any staff identification. We were not sure if we were talking to friendly guests or employees. Also, it seems that there is no standard for dress. The waiter/chef had on a checkered flannel shirt and we did not know if he worked there or not until he asked if he could take our order.

This is Not a Hotel
Reviewed By A7391AMmatthewcThis is an extended stay facility. While the room was adequate, it is NOT a substitute for a Hampton or Holiday Inn. It is intended for people to stay more than a few nights at a time. The bed was fine, and the room appeared to be clean. There is an interesting kitchenette and full-size refrigerator, but there are NO amenities. No in-room coffee, no little bottles of shampoo, no carpet, no comfortable place to sit. It has a clinical, unpleasant feel to it. But the biggest problem is not the hotel itself. It is the other guests. Since there is no carpet in the whole facility the noise is quite annoying. Add to that the fact that people actually "live" here, with all their pets, children, laundry, cigarettes, and groceries, and it makes for a noisy environment. It is not conducive to a good night's sleep, which is really the only task a hotel should be able to provide. I was woken several times by noise, and am writing this review as I was woken by a very strong cigarette odor at 4:30 this morning. If you wish to sleep peacefully, almost any actual hotel will be a better choice. If you would rather experience a college dorm, this is the place for you.

Reviewed By Shaun SNeeded a restful sleep and couldn't get it because of the noise on second floor. Bathroom was a little dirty. Bed was clean. Air didn't work on high. Got to check out later, which was good. Front desk was very courteous.
