Just ok

Reviewed By davina1979lee

The hotel is ok, pretty much what you would expect for an average spainish holiday. I wouldn't class it as 4 star, 3 at best. The food was pretty good, got a little repetitive after a week. However the restaurant is absolute chaos at peak times and it seems that rather than approaching the hot buffet and getting the item you want, people insisted on queuing the whole way around it, which I found bizarre. They do give you time slots but it doesn't seem like anyone takes any notice. Luckily we had booked an apartment and were in block 8 which had its own pool. The pool at the main building was carnage, towels down by 7.30am, some left out from the night before, despite the notices saying it wasn't allowed. Luckily the pool at our block was much quieter. Personally I couldn't have stood the noise at the main pool. There is an indoor pool but you are required to wear a swim hat which is a strange rule I have never come across, plus I can't get my hair in one so we didn't bother. The evening entertainment was a mixed bag. The thing that really spoiled it was the gangs of little brats running riot while their parents drank at the bar. I don't mind kids being kids but this was on another level and nothing was done about it. The bar menu was very limited, hardly any cocktails on the all inclusive just basic spirits and only beer or sangria at the restaurant, no wine offered. Overall, we wouldn't return, this holiday cost us £3500 for 3 people for a week and it was not worth it.

Very good family all inclusive

Reviewed By fitz24

Pros - Very good all inclusive hotels one of best we have stayed at in Spain so far. the food is good wide variety , Al a cart was very nice and the snack bar great too. We had a junior suite with 7 and. 2 year old lots of space rooms cleaned everyday, fridge in room -very handy and free pool towels! Robes and slippers provided nice . It is a very clean hotel the grounds are beautiful well maintained. Beach very close and really nice. Evening entertainment very good are favourite was Brazil night and mini disco. Jet 2 rep with blonde hair and glasses was super helpful and friendly nothing to much trouble. Cons - access to splash park is very difficult with a buggy you have to go over a rocky muddy hill and carry the buggy up the steps and you can’t gain access via the revolving door -you have to wait for bar staff to let you in who are very grumpy as they are busy. They should build a bridge and a wide door for family/disability access. Dinner time is late -19.30pm with children is such a long time to wait after a busy day - we never went the snack bar as access to the splash park was so difficult with are children we just hung around till dinner opened. Older Bar staff -2 lady’s and man at the main pool/bar are super grumpy very unfriendly and actually put me off ordering a drink. Other than that very good hotel would recommend to others .

Great place at a great price, wish they could speak better English. We couldn't get any good tips regarding restaurants suitable for the kids, asked for info regarding hiking locations, it seemed the receptionist was not knowledgeable about this thing, even though I speak Spanish. Other than that the place is great for its' price range.

From start to finish I was so disappointed with this hotel

Reviewed By chloecX3131XE

There was so many problems with this hotel I really don't know where to start. 1. Check in was quite a wait time, not enough staff working to accommodate people checking in. Spent in total 5 hours queuing to check in & deal with my problems. 2. Rooms had no facilities for making tea/coffee 3. The pools were not cleaned or open for use. Even though it stated that it was through the booking website I booked with which was On the Beech. (My fault that I didn't do further investigating prior to booking) 5. Hotel states that it has air conditioning. When I turned it on it only blew out hot air. When asked for assistance, I was told that the air conditioning does not work this time of year (Even though it was April & 26 degrees). 4. Major ant problem. On day 2 of our 7 night stay, our two family rooms became infested with ants. It was that bad, they were in our beds, clothes, shoes, all our toiletries. I asked to be moved rooms immediately. To which they did move us. We were offered no help to move our belongings to the other room, which was on the total opposite sides of the hotel. We barely even got a sorry. I had asked for toothbrushes (as the aunts were crawling all over ours in the bathroom). They couldn't get us any as we were told that it was too late at night. We got no compensation, not even a free bottle of drinking water. We had booked Twin family rooms that were interconnecting as we had 5 children & 2 adults. When they moved us to the new rooms, our rooms were not beside one another. Again, I had to go to reception & inform them of their error. They could not move us until the following day as there was no availability. The next day, we had to ask the manager for help with our belongings to move rooms. We waited 1 hour for a staff member to help us, no one came so we had to move all our stuff again on our own. This room was over the café of the hotel & the room constantly smelt of cigarettes. During the upset of moving rooms, we had left 3 coats in the wardrobe. After a couple of hours after us noticing them missing, we had informed staff. We were told that the cleaners had cleaned the room & they were not there. We never got back our coats. 5. Some staff were nice and pleasant, others were quite rude and not helpful. 6. Rooms were spacious and nice, minus the ants!!! Very disappointed with my experience. Paid a lot of money to have a nice family reunion after Covid.

Good stay and Kids loved it

Reviewed By xiaopeng555

We stayed one night , visited the parks twice, in August (expecting the worst for Q’s etc) and must say very positively surprised. Our boys of 10 and 11 loved it. All staff at the hotel very friendly and helpful. Good drinks and nice lake side bar. All staff at Port Aventura also very friendly even in the heat. We checked in the hotel around 2pm (no Q’s at all), left some luggage on the car, some in the luggage storage (free) and went straight to the Amusement park right in the midday sun. We bought the 10 ride express pass (extra €44 each) and well worth it. Maybe we were lucky somehow the park didn’t feel full even though it’s a Friday in August .. Hotel buffet is fine and the boys ate loads. My Spanish wife even liked the fish. Our room Aircon not the best so check that immediately if arriving and you need it. Leave it running while at the pool etc. One improvement for the hotel is sustainability / water refills. Very expensive water (4 euro per litre) at the hotel. No water in the rooms on arrival. Bring your own.

Pleasant

Reviewed By Gaitero61

First off, chosen for its brilliant location at the bottom of Rambla Nova just by the Balcón del Mediterraneo and very handy for all parts of the old town and the key sites. I guess its a 70s concrete block tacked on the back of a rather grand former palace (now apartments). Its had a bit of face lift, but you just can't hide that 70s core. Room was pleasant enough and certainly spacious, the ancient air con worked (if slightly noisily). Balcony was nice with a view to overgrown (in a good way) gardens below. Balcony furniture was of the basic cheap plastic kind - but did the job. Pool area was nice and not overcrowded or noisy at any time. Breakfast was buffet only with some hits and misses but I think something there for everyone. Nice to have Tortilla, cold meats were OK. Tomatoes a disappointment after Zaragoza. Coffee by Nespresso is tolerable to drink but questionable environmentally. They have made an attempt to make the en suit bathrooms stylish but the basin is very shallow with lo sides so water sloshes everywhere making floods. Staff generally helpful and helped my get a non standard taxi request sorted.

Accommodation was clean but basic (No shelves in the oven, wine glasses, spoons or toaster) Stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and loads of space. Unfortunately, the key collection was a nightmare, we booked through live holidays and were told to collect key from salou suites. This was not the case,we spent 2 hours trying to find out where we had to go. You have to collect key from almonsa playa hotel which is 2 miles away and costs 15 euros in a taxi each way before you even get into apartments. Would not recommend die to the inconvenience of key collection.
