Great stay for families
Reviewed By JulienTWIt is already our third stay there. The quality of the service is amazing. The staff is helpful, smiling and efficient. We stayed there for Christmas and they made this time perfect for the kids delivering our gift behind the door that morning. It is highly recommended place if you need to relax with your family.

Reviewed By christopherb295There are many different theme areas or buildings within the complex and has lots of activities including water playground (heated pool or onsen is payable though), arcade and play area, shops and restaurants. We were offered free entry into A-Shin Cocoa Farm opposite too. A nice beach (though rocky) is at one end of the resort. We had a nice spacious mezzanine room, only thing is if the interiors and beddings could be of slightly better quality and maintained.

Reviewed By thewheretoWe found this hotel in Hengchun and would have stayed here had we not already booked somewhere by the time we found it. A flashy hotel with a restaurant, indoor pool and fitness centre. What is amazing is all the fun activities you can do inside! We were not staying, but the lovely staff allowed us to use the indoor clear walkway and slide for the 8th floor to the 3rd floor. It was super fun! They also have a climbing wall and ball pit. Would be an awesome place to stay. Thank you to the staff for their hospitality, also arranging a taxi for us.

Reviewed By Alex3004Pluses: - amazing view from the rooms - huge wall-windows and incredible view of the South Bay and beyond + mountain forest on the other side; - super friendly and helpful owners; even took me by car to the moto rental place. Perfect communication and support; - Comfortable nice rooms; - Great location - 5 mins walk from South Bay beautiful beach; - cool jacuzzi by the window with the view. Minuses: - breakfast is a little simple, but ok. Great team working in the kitchen; - Sometimes a little noisy from the street. But sound isolation is good. In general Highly recommend for anybody. Family or friends, solo or couples would enjoy.

First week of the year
Reviewed By A2HesselbaekResort is quite far away from Kenting, which is the place to be in south Taipei. We had a car, so it was not a issue. Big breakfast for 300 ntd, ok dinner at the resort restaurant, fairly priced. You can choose between a la cart or hot pot . We arrived Sunday night and it seemed not many ppl were at the resort. A lot of activities are closed due winter season. When we arrived, they told us that car can not be parked at the cabin. They had small busses driving 24-7 between car park, cabins etc. Unluckily it was raining the whole week of our stay and usually the busses had open sides, so oftentimes we got wet. You can order the bus by calling to the front desk. It would take appx. 5 min the bus to arrive but no idea how busy it will be when it is high season We checked in and then realized that our cabin and our kid's cabin were very far away from each other. We asked if they could change, they couldn't do that. Later that night another family moved into another flat in our cabin and then we discovered that walls are paper thin. It felt like 15 ppl moved in - kids, parents, grandparents. Rest of the family had a cabin next to our house but apparently they just liked to spend time in our cabin. As the rest of the family went back to their cabin to sleep, we also went to bed just to find out that our neighbour's baby was a light sleeper. Sometimes the baby fell off the bed, sometimes he just cried but unfortunately no sleep for us either. Next day I asked if we could get another cabin because a week of that would really ruin our holiday as we were there for diving as well. We got another cabin, slightly more worn out as the first one but quiet and we were happy. They changed towels every day although the sign said if we put them in the shower area, they will change them. Toiletries: toothbrushes, shower cap, shower liquid and shampoo, razor, soap, comb new every day We were out most of the time anyway. Went to the beaches in Kenting, go karting, diving and dining in Hengchung, movies in Pingtung (very long drive) etc. Staff was friendly and helpful, only one driver got annoyed because my Chinese wasn't good enough and he didn't understand that we wanted to got to the parking lot. Usually they always found somebody who could speak English. I can speak a little Chinese but not enough to have a complicated discussion. When we left, more ppl were arriving, we counted 5 busses/the parking lot was half full so the resort must be quite popular despite the locatio

Quiet and Relaxing

After spending one night here we decided to move reservations closer to the center of town. Although we only spent one night here they were beyond helpful and the room was very nice. The manager drove us to town so we could get dinner after arriving to the hotel so late. He also drove us into town the next day after moving our reservation to another hotel. Absolutely amazing customer service! If your looking to stay somewhere quiet and relaxing this is the place for you!

Very nice beach
Reviewed By EstTravellerWe usually do not stay in this kind of huge tourism factories as Howard Beach Resort but this time decided to make an exception as one of the few beaches in Taiwan suitable for kids (Little Bay beach) was right on resort's doorstep. In fact you could enter the beach right from the hotel (after a long walk through corridors though). First what we did not like - the check-in took ages. There weren't many people on the line and there were several counters open but it took 10-15 minutes per guest to check-in so we had to wait over 45 minutes before getting key cards. Never ever experienced such a bureaucratic check-in. And of course the complex is enormous - getting anywhere took time. Our rooms were a long way from check-in, restaurant, car park, everything. Not our cup of tea at all but as I said, we were there for the beach. So on the positive side I can put the beach - that was really nice and our 2-year old daughter did not get enough of it. And it was good that the hotel had a beach access with showers so you could clean up the salt and sand afterwards. The room was large, nice and clean and breakfast really abundant. The buffet literally had everything - local food, western food, japanese food and it was very tasty. Another nice touch was the free golf cart service from the resort building to the gate because, yes, the complex is huge. Another plus in staying at Howard was closeness to different nature reserves in the area (Kenting, Sheding, Longpan etc) and as wildlife photography is my hobby, it was good to get to these places fast in the early mornings. Therefore all in all a good experience. So if you are in the area and looking for the good value hotel with convenient beach access then Howard is the best option. And after seeing other beaches in the area, I would say that the Little Bay Beach IS the best beach there if you have small kids.

Pleasant stay
Reviewed By Simply1005I tried to book two rooms directly on their website but didn't receive any email confirmation. So I dropped them a message on facebook messenger which they responded promptly. Both rooms on the fourth floor have great sea views. Our room, which is accessible from the third floor via a flight of staircase has a big balcony and lots of sun on the balcony. Our elderlies' room accessible via lift has water dispenser right beside the door. I consider both rooms to be spacious for the price I paid (non peak Sunday and Monday). Only complaint is that they only provide one access card per room. As I had to run errands (go laundry and go my mom's room), I had to trouble my cousin to come down the stairs to open the door for me every time I return. Plus the room's access card control is upstairs (and not beside the door). We had to go back up a few times to take the access card when we reached the door. Rooms were clean and slippers were provided. There were also sufficient clothes hangers and hooks. My mom and aunt didn't encounter any difficulties in using the shower, the TV and aircon. They did had a hard time opening and closing the balcony door but that's ok. No issue with throwing toilet paper into the waste basket as this is not the first Taiwan hotel we encountered with this request. There is a self-service 24-hour laundromat just a few steps from the hotel. Laundromat has four washing machines and two dryers. But you have to buy your own detergent from the shops in Kenting main street and bring your own laundry nets as many of the items on its vending machine were sold out. We didn't encounter other user when using the machines in the early morning. No breakfast provided but we can get breakfast easily (cheap and tasty) from Kenting main street. We had dinner at Kenting main street and found the food a bit salty. We asked and the hotel recommended us a diner about 200 meter from the hotel which was very good. The hotel also helped to arrange our transfer from Zuoying Station to the hotel and a day trip around Kenting. I thought it will be a normal sedan but a big van turned up. My aunt and mom had difficulty boarding the van on the first day but the driver turned up with a stepping stool the second day.
