Reviewed By pats573Room needs update…bed sagged, curtains torn and not working. No maid service unless requested. Breakfast unacceptable. No fresh fruit available. Hidden parking fee of $25 a night. Not enough employees. We will not return. We were very dissatisfied.

Reviewed By Deborah HWe had a very clean, comfortable room, but it was on the smaller side from other Hampton Inn's we have stayed in over the years. The front desk staff was very nice. We were planning on staying 3 nights. Unfortunately, the impending rain with gale winds that was approaching the eastern seaboard caused us to leave after one night. The hotel manager was very kind and did not charge for the 2 extra night's stay. Our room faced the Ocean Highway side, so it was a bit noisier than I expected.

The manager was very nice and explained that they were short staffed and that our check in would be soon after 4. It was. We had the 2-bedroom suite and it was clean, spacious, and up to date, as was the lobby. Shout out to the daily breakfast preparers! Most outstanding selection and taste. It is on the 4th floor. The acoustics could be better in the breakfast room. Holy cow, was it loud! Parking is only good for one vehicle and we had two. Had to park it at a friend’s place. Water pressure was pee poor, but hot. AC was excellent. We would definitely come back.

Could watch sunset from our bed. This was there last weekend open until March. The room was spotless, smelled fresh and every attention to detail was met. Then you open the curtains and it is pure heaven.Our room was 108 perfect. Close to free ice....soda and snack machine. The front desk was very kind and friendly. Cannot wait to book The Bay Resort in Dewey Beach De again and again. Thanks for the memories.

Reviewed By youngeaceI checked into the Gold Leaf Hotel exactly at check-in time and I had to pee. I ran inside to check in, doing my best not to be doing the pee dance and failing. I signed my paperwork, got my key and ran upstairs to my room. I say all that to say I did not get the normal verbal breakdown of the property but I’m pretty sure it's because I visibility had to pee. Other than that the staff at the front desk is super friendly and was able to check me in quickly. The room was large with a table and a small couch with a sitting area. I love that the fridge has a freezer attached. The gym and breakfast area was closed due to covid and the pool as well as sun area was under construction. Plenty of parking onsite with a covered garage that goes up as far as the hotel does which is 4 floors. Steps from the beach though it was a little too cold to go during my trip. Very dog friendly area. All in all a very nice hotel that was clean, larger than it looked, and in a great location with the fun Nalu Hawaiian Surf Bar & Grille being right across the street. Would 100% recommend!

How the econo lodge hasn’t taken there flag of mind blowing .the rooms are what you would expect for the money but the saddest part of this property is not the broken doors or sub par cleaning , but the front desk staff . After having rooms changed on 3 occasions due to doors not working we were brushed off and threatened to be evicted from the hotel after asking to speak to the general manager .we were told he “took notes” he is unable to connect us with GM , and what did we expect at an econo lodge. Apparently not much, because all we were looking for is that are problem was acknowledged and not dismissed but honestly I don’t know how this guy got a job in hospitality. Housekeeping was great , John the maintenance guy was understanding, but the front desk will have you regretting your decision . Think I’m kidding just call and ask basic questions and see what attitude you get . I will contact choice , and booking.com but please do your self a favor and stay anywhere but here . You’ll spent more time in the parking lot waiting on your room then in it

The AC unit didn't work in one room, but staff comp-ed us one of the two nights we were there. And the other concern was a bit of mold on the shower curtain. Otherwise, it was a very good stay.

Lacking - other than location
Reviewed By JoAnna VFront desk staff was completely devoid of patron interest or assistance. There was a huge brigade of little leaguers, whose parents abandoned at the pool to the complete and utter annoyance of anyone else wanting to use the pool. There was no lifeguard or staff to exhibit any control over the mob of 27 brats screaming, throwing things, slopping water on everyone. The parents should be ashamed of their children's wretched behavior and obvious lack of manners or respect for anyone. The hotel should have had someone to stop this. Room was OK, although not terribly clean, and with only one bar of soap it was annoying to share it between sink and shower. The only saving grace was that they did provide a lovely beach wedding which we attended and the food for the reception was quite excellent. The bride and groom were very happy with all, so at least the Sands got that right.

We have the best of both worlds: the Town of Dewey is located between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. Both the hotel and beach house are open all year. the biggest dump on the beach
Reviewed By ronhiggsthe reception desk is about the size of a phone booth. there is no elevator. had to walk three flights of stairs. i think the furniture was purchased at a thrift store. no balcony to sit and enjoy the ocean view. the water in the pool was green and the bottom had not been painted in way too long. I would not stay there if they offered me a free room.
