beautifully appointed suite .. noise ruined it

Reviewed By patpI2817DG

The seemingly new and beautiful 'Short Board' suite is located right on Kiwanda Drive of Pacific City, OR and a minute's walk to Pelican, stores, eateries, and beach access -- BUT from 7am - 10pm, and sometimes later, you will be subjected to the constant traffic noise within feet of this place. Cars and trucks and RVs speeding by. So no cozy sleeping in on the very comfortable queen bed or lounging and reading quietly on a rainy day. No matter where you go in the house, or even on the lovely outdoor patios, you can never experience quiet, or the birds chirping, or cool ocean air and breeze with windows open. I did try a noise fan in trying to create a space in the bedroom, but didn't help much. WiFi was also very unreliable so used my data plan the entire stay. Dryer did not work. Upstairs in the 'Long Board' rental, and even though the guests were quiet, I could clearly hear all bathroom activity (I'll spare the details), walking and moving around. Having rented many places in Pacific, I wish I could have enjoyed this beautiful little suite and all the creature comforts that the owners took to appoint it so lovingly. For the price, and because of the noise, I won't stay here again. Many more options available in Pacific. I did not have a restful vacation this year, sadly.

Excellent place to stay!!

The cottages are adorable, warm and cozy. Everything you need is there. The landlady is charming, and the artwork in the store worth a look. Local restaurant in town has tasty food. Dinner just out of town has good food as well, and does breakfast. Espresso stand in town: even a Tesla charging station and a gas pump. The rock store and Museum across the street from the dinner are really worth a look. Everyone is friendly. We had an amazing time. Stayed three days and saw the Painted Hills, the Clarno Site, and the Paleontology center. Hiked for hours staring at gorgeous vistas you can't see anywhere else. A geologists dream trip!

This is the pet place to go if you to unplug, literally and figuratively, for a few days. The cabins are well-maintained and the caretakers think of everything. Ted walked us to the cabin and had the ceiling fan on to help with the high temps. The river is right out the back door and the area is quiet, beautiful, and relaxing. We are excited to go back again soon.

Perfect working ranch get away with my 13 year old

Reviewed By G6821CRmaryc

I was looking for a place where my son could feel like a real cowboy, and I could get out for an adventure. Sue and Tim were absolutely wonderful. They were so friendly, and very responsible and caring towards my son. Tim was a great role model and imparted solid life lessons. We are a city family, and to get out to the Steen Mountain range and experience a cell-phone free week in the beautiful country, while trying new things led to a lot of great family bonding. I usually like to keep to myself, and don't enjoy dining with strangers on vacation, but the family dinners were a highlight. Sitting around the table, conversation with Tim and Sue who are just as much 'county' to our 'city' was the most meaningful aspect of the trip, and so great for my son. When I set out to find a 'cowboy vacation' I searched the entire country, was willing to travel anywhere, and landed on Steen MR in my own backyard. I was worried about the 'luxury' level, as I work really hard and like my precious vacation days to be perfect - but that was for naught. Totally comfortable. No complaints. Perfect place for a getaway for a mom and her 13 year old. Spring Camp, March 2021.

Enjoying every minute here!

Currently staying in the "whale watch " room. It is spacious and clean and so comfortable, and the view of the roaring Pacific Ocean is fantastic! We are treated to 3 BIG pictures windows, and the ocean is right there! Crack the side windows and we can hear the waves smashing. Easy access to the beach for our morning and afternoon and evening walks. We were greeted warmly by our host Leslie, and she has offered the "anything you need just ask" promise, but everything we need is already here for us. We are so pleased to have found this slice of Oregon coast heaven... Highly recommended!

Stayed at the DoubleTree Ranch for 2 nights this week with our family of 3. An incredible place for adults and kids alike. We stayed in the Summer House which was one of the cleanest hotels/cabins/etc I've ever stayed in, with deliciously comfortable beds. Comforts of home but in a rural, nature-filled setting where you can really disconnect and enjoy. Nice walk to the river -more blackberries than my 3 year old could eat! Rick and Carol were gracious hosts - thank you! We Look forward to coming back next summer!

Crater Lake Country Suites

Our boutique lodging experience is housed on 3/4 of an acre behind the historic old hotel in the town of Ft. Klamath. It is peaceful and quiet. It is green and grassy with gardens of flowers and hanging baskets. We sit across from a working cattle ranch so it is not unusual to wake up to cattle grazing in the pastures across the street. The roads have little traffic so it is a good place to go for a morning walk or run. We also have bicycles available for our guests. We have picnic tables for each house for eating outside or playing games. There are barbeques available ... both gas or briquette and we supply either the gas or the briquettes. In the evening we have a fire pit in which our guests enjoy sitting round while watching the sunset and the stars in the dark night sky. We are a smoke free environment.

Great Cottage, Great Location, Great Hosts

Reviewed By TheSimpleTraveler

This is one of the closest lodgings to Crater Lake National Park without being in the park - about a 40 minute drive to the Rim Village Visitor Center. We stayed in "The Cottage", a quaint, cozy place, kept ultra clean and decorated beautifully in a country theme. A comfortable queen size bed and air conditioning, made for a good night’s sleep even in the warm temperatures we were experiencing. I had the good fortune of meeting Terri, one of the hosts of the property. Terri will go out of her way to make sure that your stay and the other guests’ stay is satisfactory. Through my conversation with her it was quiet obvious that she is sincere in wanting to make sure that everything is just right for all her guests. Booking on line through their website was easy. Once booked, you’ll receive a separate email with instructions on how to access your unit, so be sure to look for that. One thing to note is that cell service is rather sparse in the area. As a result, if you dial the phone number that’s listed, you may get a recording stating that the number is not in service. Simply text message them or email them and I’m sure they will promptly respond. To summarize, this property boasts a Great Cottage, Great Location and truly Great Hosts! We would not hesitate to book here again if we are ever in the area.

This facility is a fun journey to the past. The bungalows are comfortable and fully stocked with everything you’ll need (including a K-Cup machine). If they don’t have then friendly owners would probably hook you up. My only complaint is that the toilet was really small. Great location with amazing views.

Willow Witt is a magical place. We can't express how much we enjoyed our stay. It is the perfect place to unwind and absorb nature. We loved visiting the goats, buying eggs straight from the farm, and the bacon is delicious. We stayed in the Meadow House for 5 nights, the house was perfect for our family of 4. Amazing views from every window in the house and we loved the antique Wedgewood stove! The house is set in its own meadow and there isn't a more perfect place to spend midsummer. PS the stars at night are the brightest you'll ever see. Thank you Lanita and Suzanne.

Highly recommend Bunk House Inn

Reviewed By ClimberJoshSurfs

Nick and family are tremendously helpful and friendly. My fiance and I stay here regularly, it is our go-to spot for every Oregon based surfing adventure. With almost a dozen stays, we can always count on the cleanliness and comfort the Bunk House provides after a long day in the water! Whether we're in a one bed room to ourselves or sharing the two bed configuration with friends, the room is always in immaculate condition and the check in process is simple. It's not the fanciest place I've ever stayed, but the bed is comfortable, the little kitchenette has just about everything you could need, and there's even cable (or a ton of DVDs to choose from). If you're looking for an affordable place to stay that doesn't come at the expensive of the amenities, look no further. It's also very centrally located to Manzanita and Cannon Beach. The Bunk House Cafe has a pretty dang good breakfast, as well. Thanks Nick, you know we'll be back again soon!
