Quiet oasis
Reviewed By LisaFromONMy mom and I booked a room for a stay after our trip over to Ludington on the Badger. It is just a short drive away from the dock and conveniently located in town. The gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful, and the spot out back with the koi pond is restful and quiet. Our two double bed room was very clean and neat and cozy with all the amenities you would need. We were able to sit outside on the boardwalk just outside our room for a while on the folding chairs provided, enjoying the breeze. The plantings around the inn are beautiful and interesting for gardeners and botanists and provide a soothing backdrop to this cute little inn. The included breakfast was ready at our chosen time and was fresh and delicious. There was even cold brewed coffee available with ice and caramel to add in. The atmosphere suited my mom to a T after a tiring day of travel, and we slept well on the comfortable beds. Thanks!

The Viking Arms Inn is located centrally in Ludington. We have been one of the highest AAA quality rated facilities in the area for over 30 years. Offering exceptional quality and warm hospitality. Shopping, the beach and the SS Badger are all as close as a mile away. We are open all year for the summer as well as the winter traveler.
Decent, Utilitarian Room
Reviewed By BigGeorge1We were without power for three days, and this was our last night away from home before our power was restored. The room is very basic, with a tiny shower in the bathroom. Our only complaint about the room was the small gap where the door didn't seal. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but the person in the next room started his diesel truck early in the morning to let it warm up, and the fumes started creeping in. I know it makes housekeeping easier, but I wish the staff would have left some space between the occupied rooms. There were probably ten rooms in use, and they were all bunched together. As others have said, this is an old-style motel, where the room doors open right into the parking lot. Very nice staff during our brief interactions (on the phone, then twice in person). For old-timer visitors, I believe ownership has changed since the 2021 season.

Stearns Hotel was built in 1903 by Justus Stearns. We are the only historic hotel left in West Michigan. We strive to be able to give our guests that “old world charm” experience they are searching for. Located in downtown Ludington puts you in walking distance from many local bars and restaurants. We are also the closest hotel to the Ludington Car Ferry. Besides being a historic hotel, we also offer a one of a kind wedding venue on one side of the building and a Tiki bar on the other side. The Grand Ballroom is original to the building and we take pride in it being one of the most beautiful places around to hold your wedding reception or event.

Reviewed By cathyk433This historic hotel in downtown Ludington is a step back but very well preserved and maintained. Coffee is served in the lobby in the mornings. We had a corner room with a kitchenette area and very spacious surroundings. Guest laundry is available; and we discovered a pool table during our stay. There is no restaurant on premises but the hotel is within walking distance of many good choices, and some deliver. We did not need the beauty shop during our stay, but there is one adjacent. Friendly and gracious service! Ludington has several parks and your pick of several lighthouses to visit. The hotel also offers free parking. Our room had three generous windows and the bathroom a large privacy-frosted window - marvelous light!

False advertising of room
Reviewed By christinh9We booked a room that stated queen room with hot tub 99.99 . When we got back to the room we realized the hot tub was disabled . So with it being late at night I informed them in the morning. They said I was not charged hot tub price that hot tub room was $200 . How is a person to know that by what they offer on booking? I told him that was false advertising and he said probably and walked away. No refund or adjustment.. beware if it says hot tub make sure it works right away . We made the mistake of waiting till that night.
