Reviewed By DobsnDougoWe stayed here 1 night as it was close to crater lake national park and we were on a road trip to there from SF. We stayed due to TripAdvisor ratings and it didn’t disappoint. We just turned up and booked same day. Staff were helpful. The room was a good size and was warm, nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and sleep quality is excellent. Shower and bathroom were great. The hotel is close to shops and restaurants and was very quiet. Free parking and breakfast was good with a nice variety of options. Would stay again happily.

Reviewed By L3914AWcatherinesWe arrived in Klamath Falls in the evening and looked for a place to stay. We looked on Trip Advisor and saw the wonderful reviews of the Golden West Motel so took a drive to check it out. As mentioned by others, this is an older style motel at the end of town, nothing too fancy from the outside. We spoke with the owner, Luisa, who was absolutely lovely. She insisted on showing us the room and we knew right away this was the place for us. It was, as mentioned, perhaps one of the cleanest rooms we've ever stayed in. The real cups for our drinks, ground coffee, candies on the bedside table, were the added touches that made this place so special. The bed was very comfortable too. Luisa offered to lend us any dishes etc that we needed if we planned to eat in the room but also offered her suggestions for dinner in town. There was a little road noise later in the evening - not too much - but we had the window open - probably wouldn't have heard it otherwise. If you want a "chain motel" then this isn't the place for you but I highly suggest you check it out before committing elsewhere. We would definitely stay here again!

Bathrooms in Disrepair
Reviewed By cca525Toilet did not work properly in either rooms we stayed (woke up to one not working, had to go next door to gas station since no public bathroom in lobby) second one had to jiggle handle after flush and tank done filling, otherwise the tank wants to keep filling. Foot long crack under bathtub faucet so water can splash in gap behind wall, sink missing parts, sticky bathroom floor, dirty socks, ear plugs and wrappers under the beds (noticed when we were checking to make sure we had not left anything).

Better Choices Out There
Reviewed By floweringtreeWe went without much high expectation given that it's a budget hotel. However, we were disappointed by the run-down furniture and bedding in our 2-night stay. The pillows, mattresses, bed sheets and covers were old, and we found hairs stuck on the blankets. We had a bigger room and enjoyed the kitchenette with a sink, fridge and microwave which was really handy, but the fridge made loud noises from time to time. The toilet drainage was also clogged with dirt and we had to call the reception for help but was resolved by the hotel staff who were friendly and helpful. There wasn't a proper breakfast area. Guests will have to get their cereals, coffee/tea and juices in a small room, and have them in their rooms despite a small sofa. We'd probably a bit more for a more comfortable experience unless you just want a bed for the night and linger in the area for too long
