We strongly recommend Akane-yado Country Inn because the owner, Mr Joe-san is a very kind soul. The sunset and starry night views from the patio were fantasic and both the dinner and breakfast cooked by Mr and his wife, were very delicious and nice. The hightlight of our stay was the episode of a good nature and kind soul of Mr Joe-san had protray, and he had become our Saviour and Hero.My husband, not knowingly had dropped his passport at Naka Furano Station while waiting for pick up by Joe-san to his country inn. We stayed on 19th June 2011 for 1 night which was the 3rd Day of our 14 Days Free & Easy Trip in Japan. The next morning on checked out, Mr Joe-san sent us out to Farm Tomita. In the farm, my husband realised that he had lost his passport with the 14 Days JR Pass in it. We called Mr. Joe-san and he came to the Tomita farm in within 10 mins and drove us to Naka Furano Station to search for the passport but to no avail. He then drove us to the police station and became our interpretator to communicate with the police. The police found the passport with the JR Pass still in tact. We were very grateful to Mr Joe-san and we are still grateful to him. He had taken an extra mile in his service to extend his valuable help to us when we were so lost then, and he had saved our Japan holidays as we still had 11 days to travel. Without his help to find the passport, our holidays would be ruin and cut short. We sincerely expressed our heartfelt gratitude and wish to say: "Thank You Very Much, Mr Joe-san" Everything is beautiful when there are such nice people around us!
Beautiful views, but the rooms are too basic
Reviewed By Christina FWhat I liked the most was the views on the farms and mountains from the terrace. The breakfast was very good with a variety of fish, but you have to have it at 7.30am. Even though I enjoyed the peace and quiet, this accommodation was VERY remote - it takes you at least 20 minutes to get to a restaurant. The wifi was close to non-existent and we had to park on the grass as there was no space left even though we registered for parking. The wash basins are at a very public space and to use the showers you have to walk past the kitchen in the morning. The host was a little unfriendly at times. The room was very basic and super hot and stuffy with no air con. You also have to leave the property between 10am and 4pm every day. All in all it was too expensive for what it was.

Reviewed By taroozawaLocated in the farm lands of Furano, this lovely accommodation offers total tranquility and relaxing ambience. I wish I could’ve stayed one more night. Will definitely come back when in Furano. The only room for improvement might be Wi-Fi connectivity which is slightly weak. 富良野の農場のど真ん中に位置しており都会の喧騒から逃れての休日には理想的な環境。オーナー夫婦のホスピタリティも丁度イイ距離感を保ってくれてとても居心地がイイ。夕方になると焚いてくれる暖炉にも癒されます。テレビがないのもGOOD。インバウンドが再開し外国人が戻ってきたら談話室スペースもいい情報交換の場になりそう。また来たい旅の宿。 一点改善の余地があるとすれば(大したことではありませんが)Wi-Fiがちょっと弱いことでしょうか。

Basic stay at Furano for budget travelers
Reviewed By SookChingWe stayed in this ryokan for 2 nights during summer. We travelled by car so can't comment much about its location (but its nearest station is Furano station); parking spaces available. There is a convenience store opposite the ryokan. The Japanese lady who helped us to check-in was friendly. Room was pretty basic with a small tv and futon beds (please make up yourself). There are shared toilets and one family bathroom (accommodates up to 3, switched for different gender) at ground level. Do take note that there are rules for using the bathroom - bath is only allowed from 5-9pm; no morning bath is allowed. We find it a little bit restrictive, but if you have no issue with this, feel free to book!

New, large rooms, nice staff - a nice surprise!
Reviewed By MunichEricJThe nice staff allowed me to check in two hours early, a great perk. Room 112 is very large and has twin beds, a table, two chairs and a desk that is easily ten feet long. There’s an in- room safe, mini- fridge, doorless closet and a very large sink room adjacent to the toilet / tub-shower room. The bathroom area is very well- lit and bright. The ceiling- mounted Mitsubishi air con unit works really well and the remote is intuitive for a person with very limited Kanji knowledge. The window opens to let in fresh air. The beds are very comfortable, and each has two mains outlets and its own adjustable intensity reading light – nice features. The hotel seems to be very new and adjoins the onsen, sharing its restaurant, Yubae. Bordering is a campground with spaces to pull in a camper, pitch a tent or stay in a hut. The onsen is large and well- done. The waters are a reddish hue, with a distinctive ammonia smell. They are supposed to be good for the skin. The onsen is a popular spot for the locals to gather, so there’s a lively feel to it. My half- board rate included dinner at Yubae, which was wonderful. There was an appetizer dish with smoked salmon, a cream cheese ball with nuts on tapenade, and bef carpaccio with grated parmesan. A warm custard with mushrooms, shrimp and a bit of fish was very good. There was a generous serving of tenpura, seven large pieces, and add to that a hotpot with mushroom, tofu, scallops. And even more - another large serving, a heated ceramic plate with with pork, pepper slices and asparagus. Lastly there was a strawberry crème with fresh strawberries on top. It was a feast, and delicious. Breakfast at Yubae was excellent, with homemade items and nice and attentive service. I highly recommend this hotel.

Family Run Budget Stay

It's a fairly mid sized building, a small restaurant on the left, the center is the reception counter for staying guest, and on the right i believe is the owner's home. The photo shown on their un-official website looks a bit creepy, the photo was taken in poor lighting. It was a nice pleasant stay. We booked 2 rooms, they gave us 2 separate rooms. But the owner is kind to open up an empty adjacent room. All of us could stay together. Self-help futon bedding, quail pillow was provided in the room. It was warm and comfy. We had a warm comfortable sleep. The hotel has shared clean toilet facility. Hot water was available at the pantry. The downside is that they don't sell breakfast. We wish if they could provide meal service to guest, additional income to them. Why not?

Reviewed By Ambassador804179あちらこちらに工夫が凝らされていて落ち着くいい感じ。 部屋にも囲炉裏があり、夕飯も囲炉裏料理。 お風呂は、20時〜6時まで男女とも貸切り風呂になり、入り口の札を『入浴中』『空いてます』に切り替え、夫婦、友達、家族.....一緒に気にせずのんびり入れるのも魅力。 部屋にﾄｲﾚが無いけれど、それでも又来たい!!と思わせてくれる魅力がある。 子供が駄目なのが残念ではある。
