Best resort — relaxing, beautiful and an escape

Reviewed By chelsea_stonee

I cannot express how I fell in love with this place. I had electric accessibility all day in my room. There was an old post by someone online that said the electricity was limited in the room. Please disregard it because it is a very old post. Let me explain the highlights of this resort. The rooms are authentic, aesthetically captivating, and blends with the natural beauty of the island. The amenities of the resort is exactly what you expect from a place designed to help you escape and relax. Whether you’re a solo traveler, couple or a large family, this resort accommodates to all types. The large infinity pool was absolutely gorgeous. I took a variety of Instagram worth shots with the beautiful rock cliffs in the background. The beach itself was clean and the water was so clear. You’re able to use their kayaks and row to the floating house on there resort property, and snorkel. At the flowing house, you can find an abundance of fish and clams. This was my particularly favorite feature of the resort because it was pretty exclusive to the residents at the resort. The food was affordable, fresh and delicious. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and never had a dish we did not like. The staff were beyond courtesy and accommodating. Shoutout to Brian at the front desk who was always smiling and incredibly friendly. He helped us book our tours and boat trips to and from town, always checked in on us and just made the place an extension of our home. Lastly my fiancé, Tita and Tito were able to meet one of the owners, Emily, and her husband, who happened to be staying at the resort at the same time. We chatted for hours and enjoyed their company at the breakfast table, and when we had ran into them at the boat dock. Emily informed us about Coron and their intentions to preserve the natural beauty of the area. The resort itself is a testimony of their efforts. There is WiFi at the front desk, but not in the rooms. It allows for everyone staying to enjoy the presence of those around them and the country itself. Take advantage of that experience. We are entirely too consumed by the Wifi that we forget to appreciate the beauty around us. I am beyond grateful for this experience and could not have booked a better place. I have every intention of returning back not only with my fiancé but with his family as well, so they can experience what we experienced for four days.

Frangipani El Nido

A beachfront boutique hotel amidst the backdrop of El Nido's famous Karst Limestones. Each suite offers hotel comforts and spacious living spaces that face the beach, with sunset views of the islands of El Nido. Perfect for couples, and friends. A dip in our garden pool, a drink at our lounge, a moment of pause.

They disappeared ... no refund for covid-19

Reviewed By eryx89

I booked a 10 day stay at the Frangipiani. Reservation made in September 2019. The stay was scheduled for March 2020. Due to the covid-19 the trip was canceled and Frangipiani had assured me that I would get a refund. To date, more than 2 years have passed and I have not received anything, they have stopped responding to my emails and messages. They disappeared. Other smaller and cheaper hotels refunded me immediately when the pandemic broke out. The frangipiani, on the other hand, has disappeared. Angel and Paco (I don't know if they work there anymore) wrote to me in 2021 that I would receive the refund within 30 days, but obviously it wasn't like that. I don't know if I should call a lawyer or keep writing to the hotel in hopes of their response. The problem is that in 2019 to make the reservation they asked me to pay the full amount, or more than € 2,000 so that's a lot of money.

Beautiful beachfront beach house

During my San Vic trip, I also stayed at VICTORIA’S BEACH HOUSE -- a cheaper option to Lazuli's. This is a very homey beach house that is literally by the sea. Also located at Brgy. Alimanguan, Victoria seems to be a common choice for travellers’ who are in for a longer stay. It has its own bar-resto that serves affordable and sumptuous meals. (Heads up though, if you are up for a place with strong wifi connection, Victoria doesn’t have that. I could barely connect to their wifi). You can contact them at +63999 994 1332 or email them at [email protected]

Balaibinda Lodge

Balaibinda is a small inland boutique resort hotel in Coron, Palawan, Philippines. It is conveniently located in the heart of town, in the bustling food and business district. It is just a few minute's walk from major banks, churches, schools, market, wharf and an array of restaurants and souvenir shops. This modest hostel has 3 floors and a total of 17 rooms. It houses a bar and dining area. It has modern architecture with hints of ethnic influence in its fixtures coupled with eclectic interior design which results in a distinct ambience of class. The staff is warm, friendly and ready to assist guests in their stay to ensure their comfort and help make their vacation in Coron fun, exciting and memorable .

A good choice, but wouldn't stay again.

The location of this small hotel is good - in the heart of Coron Town with everything around you. Tour Agencies, Travel Agencies, Restaurants, small bars, shops, etc... The hotel itself is nicely decorated and rooms are clean and comfortable. My main issue was with the staff at the hotel, especially reception. They were quite uninterested, standoffish and a little unapproachable. At times, even something of a bad attitude. The other staff members around were ok, but not fantastic. Our rooms weren't cleaned at all for three days, we had cups and a full ashtray outside our rooms for the whole three days also (place isn't big, so certainly not difficult to keep on top of!) as did other rooms near us. Breakfast has to be booked for time the night before, and is 'ok' at best. Coffee, however, is absolutely awful! If you're looking for a decent place to stay without over-spending, this place is fine, if you'd like better service, look elsewhere. Honestly, i don't think i would stay here again.

Wonderful weekend

Reviewed By curmd

We were delighted with our trip to El Nido! Rose and Ulli (hotel owners) made us feel most welcome and right at home. It was quite remarkable to wake up to the spectacular views that the room offers. Our son truly enjoyed the wonderful pool, and again... the views that it offers. It is true that the beach is rocky, but provides a cool opportunity to look for critters. When coming to El Nido, we knew what to expect, so our main goal was to explore the nearby islands and locations. Rose organized our private tours and we had a spectacular time. Be sure to go to the small lagoon if you are there - this was our favorite part of the tour! To top it off, Rose is a great chef, and we got to enjoy wonderful meals while there. She was most kind to accomodate our vegetarian requests and we never went hungry. After our departure we discovered my husband left his phone in the room. The owner personally raced to the airport and got it to us just in time as we were walking to the plane. It's like I told you, they treat you like family. We loved our trip to El Nido and happy that our hotel selection resulted in us meeting such lovely family.

The rooms are bohemian styled and super clean! The resort is under renovations, but we were properly informed on forehand. When we arrived I was sick and the staff helped us so much in getting better. As a gesture they offered free minibar. Nice feature as well ; the huge lcd screen in the room with Netflix (mediaTV) which was great whilst laying sick in bed haha The resort itself looked smashing and we cannot wait to get back there for the full experience ones finished!

Le Cou de Tou Village Resort

Friendly, comfortable place to spend a week

Reviewed By Heather D

The bamboo bungalow in which we stayed for a week was comfortable, spacious, clean and beautiful. The bathroom was amazing with all the different inlaid stones . . . an acupressure treatment for your feet. The cold-water shower took some getting used to. The bed was comfortable but we needed to wear ear plugs to sleep, as the walls were thin and we could hear people talking, dogs barking and roosters crowing, among other things. The fan was great for moving the air around, but you had to be a giant to reach the controls. The breakfast was basic: a fried egg with 2 pieces of toast, a banana and super yummy brewed Swedish coffee. We supplemented the breakfast with sweet buns from the bakery around the corner. The Filipina co-owner and her staff were friendly and helpful, always available to chat or provide local travel advice. We booked a wonderful island-hopping tour, a motorbike rental and a van trip to Puerto Princesa thru the resort. We loved the one-eyed calico cat who lived there. It visited us every time we sat out on our deck. If the resort had high-speed internet, warm water and aircon, we would have stayed even longer.
