Modern and comfortable
Reviewed By Light-cruiserWe stayed for 2 nights and it was a comfortable stay. It was not difficult to find the hotel. Our room is located on the first floor. It has a private nicely polished wooden staircase that leads to our room. We have booked a triple room with tatami. The room is spacious and clean. The only downside is the distance to the toilet. Toilets are clean. There is a comfortable sitting area with big wooden dining table which is usually occupied. Owners are very friendly and speak good English. It is near to the main tourist spots in Takayama. Glad that we booked this place.

Cosy family room and lovely host
Reviewed By MissusKuanWe stayed 1 night for a stopover at Puy and Junichi’s guest house. They are a welcoming couple. The family is cosy and have 4 beds - large enough for a family of 4. We travelled with our teenagers. The bed are comfortable. Puy and Junichi also run a Thai restaurant next door, we didn’t get a chance to try it. The location is close to Takayama station, a bowling alley, Boss Supermarket and Sugi pharmacy.

Somewhere in the nature
Reviewed By stegghisWe booked double private room. Bathroom and shower were always prefectly cleaned! The room comfortable. They have also a washer and dryer machine... Really usefull! The staff were so kind polite and helpful! The guest house is a little bit far from the center but if you walk not on the main roads the walking path could be also enjoyable. Top:the tables outside! We spent evening outside enjoying the quiet and calm of the night. We suggest it!

Reviewed By Michel PThis is a great place. Clean, very helpful staff and (really) a lot of facilities. We (2 adults; 8yro and 4yro) stayed 2 nights beginning of August. We had a Japanese styled room with private bathroom and toilet. I can praise it further. But I think it is sufficient to say that we would go back instantly if we visit Takayama again in the future.

Reviewed By ericyhorThe guesthouse is about 20 minutes walk from heritage area. The house is clean and warm enough. The bed is comfortable. The owner is friendly and able to communicate with English speaking guest. There is a restaurant and convenience store nearby. I enjoyed my stay in Ant Hut.

Reviewed By ASkyeGreat guesthouse with comfy traditional rooms (tatami mats and futons) and excellent modern facilities (shared shower rooms, kitchen and communal lounge area). The location is perfect in the centre of picturesque Magome. We really enjoyed walking around the village in the quiet mornings and evenings. We also enjoyed the walk over the hill to Tsumago on the old postal road. It was really easy to get to the guesthouse from Nakatsugawa Station on the regular bus. The breakfast was really good and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Exceptional and a REAL Japanese experience.

It wasn't quite what we expected being the personal home of the owner but ge welcomed us with open arms and warm hospitality making us feel like long-lost friends rather than passing tourists! He showed us around his home and made sure we were comfortable before inviting us into his living room and his "life". A truly amazing Japanese evening of chat (in English!) and exchanges in banter. The 4 bedrooms are in Japanese style being a single massive open-plan room divided by Japanese sliding paper walls. You have visual privacy but can hear everything from the other rooms - including snoring and the rustle of your fellow guests going through endless plastic carrier bags - why do the Japanese do that? :-) Be prepared for a disturbed nights sleep on the traditional Japanses bed - ie: the floor - but the whole experience is so well worth it! Our only regret is we only stayed one night but I wish the proprietor all the success he deserves and am jealous of anyone readin this and deciding to go - you won't regret a second of your time there!

Reviewed By フライフィッシャーFacility is kind of new and very very clean. Good chinese restaurant, Italian, Izakaya, and beautiful nature are located near the house. Public transportation is only weakness. Totally very reasonable. Perfect for fishers, group, tourists from abroad. 施設は新しく、また非常にきれいに手入れされています。近くに中華、イタリアン、居酒屋もあり食事も心配なし。釣り、グループ、外国人観光客などに、たいへんおすすめです。
