Disney close to the action

Our experience with Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista was great from the time we booked. We had issues linking our reservations, which Disney help was less that helpful with, Angela really worked with us via email to get it straightened out. When we arrived we had been awake since 3a to catch our flights, including my 2 kids, we asked about them holding our luggage the 6ish hours until we could check in… instead they did some switching and were able to let us check in early! That was amazing, to take a rest before taking on the day. The room, pool and hotel in general were clean to the standards I expect a HolidayInn and the “kids eat free” was so convenient for us. While we stayed 8 days, only 2 days were we there during the free cookie time. They were handing out oatmeal raisin cookies and I have a daughter with an allergy to raisins, the second day the gentleman at the bar noticed my 8 yr old not picking up a cookie, when we explained her allergy he went out of his way to get her another treat she could have. We chose this hotel for the ease of transport to the parks and the bus program worked well, it did take 45min- an hour to get where you are going BUT never a line to get on as I saw endless reviews about that happening with the Disney brand resorts. We also loved being able to walk to Disney springs! We enjoyed being able to get to the parks early and do the early Genie selections with being a good neighbor hotel. Lastly, while we never met Lotoya, she did a fabulous job each day she cleaned and was so sweet to leave us notes and towel decorations daily. Unlike some places just changing trash and towels, I know she scrubbed our sink and tub daily! Next time we are in the Orlando area we will definitely skip the lengthy search and compare process and stay here again.

Our first visit to Orlando and the Hyatt regency grand cypress. First impressions were good, the hotel is huge and it’s quite an impressive foyer/building when you arrive. Check-in was speedy and friendly. The room was nice, good bathroom and well furnished, though there was a small issue that there was not enough storage for the 4 of us (2 adults & 2 children), we coped but it was a pain. The breakfast was awesome and the pool area was fabulous, the kids loved it. There are lots of activities that you can do that are all included too, pitch and putt, climbing wall and kayaks… oh and bikes! The service round the pool was excellent and although the drinks were expensive, they were good, as was the food at the pool bar. Location wise… it is great for all the parks… Disney and universal were close and there were loads of fantastic restaurants nearby too. Ubers were really easy and great value. The staff at the hotel were really friendly as was pretty much everyone we met in the US.

Convenient located/ nice staff

I’ve stayed at this Hotel for 1 night and the Front Desk staff was friendly and professional, I believe the person who checked me was from Brazil (name starts with S). She was thorough explaining me the amenities and had a great positive attitude. The rooms are what a typical Hyatt Place - has all you need for your stay. My main complaint is about how noise it it. The people in the hallways - guest and staff - are really loud. Kids running around screening in the hallways, families yelling at each othered from the elevator to the room… a hot mess. I know the hotel can’t do much about it, but I would suggest some type of signage asking people to be quiet in the hallways, because you can’t really sleep.

Very Impressive Disney Resort

Reviewed By John V

I spent five nights at the Coronado Springs Resort in order to attend a conference. My last Disney hotel stay was at the All Star Sports Resort over 20 years ago. The hotel grounds are amazing, it really feels as if you've been transported to the Southwest. I had a Casita room, which was pretty nice, and much larger than the All Star Rooms. Most rooms at the Coronado Springs are set up motel-style, with exterior corridors. The only exception are the Tower Rooms. I appreciated the double sinks in the bathroom. Housekeeping cleaned the room every other day. Be prepared to do a lot of walking at this resort. The main pool features a Mayan Temple and water slide, and is a lot of fun. You may have some trouble finding a lounge chair during busy periods, but Staff always seemed to have activities for the kids. I walked by the quieter Casita pool numerous times, but didn't use it myself. One night I had dinner at Toledo on the top floor of the tower. The food was excellent and so were the views. My only disappointment was the Mercado Food Court. Breakfast and lunch were entirely medicore and quite expensive. The prices at Toledo weren't significantly higher, yet the food was so much better. There are 4 bus stops at the Coronado Springs, and buses ran pretty frequently to DIsney parks. Although I came mainly for the conference, I definitely had a great time at the Coronado Springs and would return.

Five-star cost for three-star service

I have just stayed in Jambo House for ten nights with six other members of my family. We booked the more expensive Savannah View rooms for the experience of seeing animals close up from our balconies, and it was certainly novel to view them in this way. But the service level in this hotel is very poor, particularly when it comes to food provision. First of all, there is no room service - the old “because of Covid” excuse is now wearing very thin. There are two places to eat; the Boma restaurant food is excellent, but extortionately priced and always difficult to book. On our last evening we managed to get a booking for seven of us (5 adults and 2 children) and we were charged $472 for the buffet meal. The Mara cafe is okay, but the selection on offer isn’t great and it is the same thing every day. The other places where presumably one used to be able to eat are closed. There is also no attempt to attract guests to stay and socialise in the hotel; the bar is tiny and not open much. Servicing of rooms is shambolic; you are told, on arrival, that rooms are serviced every two days, but this doesn’t really happen. My overall impression was that Disney did not want guests to stay in the hotel during the day, rather get everyone out into the parks spending as much money as possible. Therefore I feel, like many people I suspect, that despite the constant phrase “Have a magical day” the company’s phrase should be “Have an expensive day”. In the interests of fairness, the shuttle bus service to the parks is absolutely excellent. But Disney really needs to rethink its whole company policy and give customers much better value for money.

my favorite

This is one of my favorite Disney hotels. The reason is the short walk to the buses and the food court, plus the hand dipped ice cream rather than just the mickey bars.. The pool is smaller and with less panache but there are plenty of umbrellas and I was able to get one every single day of my stay. When will Disney realize that there are rarely any one in the sun drenched lawn chairs but rather every one is huddled under the umbrellas. Rooms were standard and comfortable and I especially liked the glass shower doors. Also the food was very good unlike the okay food at the moderate hotels we stayed in previously. Good price, good food, easy transportation and hand dipped ice cream.

FANTASTIC

Stayed here for 8 nights on my honeymoon. I can’t even begin to explain how great this spot is. It’s not overly “fancy” like a resort but it feels like one! Staff is incredibly helpful, nice & gave awesome recommendations for restaurants (Sickies Restaurant close by was recommended & it ended up being our favourite spot). Quiet hours, away from traffic & thick walls. A/C is great. Housekeeping left the room spotless every day. Pool was fantastic. Lots of parking. Able to walk to close by gift shops, restaurants, and pharmacy. Short drive to Disney (lots of traffic on the main hwy in the mornings though). Breakfast was great & coffee was surprisingly good! (unlike most hotels) The ONLY thing that I would mention is that if you aren’t an early riser, I would suggest a room on the lower floors as they start housekeeping early on the 5th floor. We left the do not disturb hanger on the door or we were gone before they started though! Highly highly recommend. We miss it already. We will be back!!
