Family hotel "Slavianska dusha" is a complex of three buildings with a spacious garden located in the old part of Veliko Tarnovo, namely the famous architectural complex "Samovodska charshiya". The hotel is located in a quiet small street in the center of the old town. We offer you double, triple and quadruple rooms, each with its own bathroom, cable TV, wireless internet, 24 hour hot water, local heating. Most rooms have terasse and wonderful views. The cozy little restaurant offers delicious food and a branded drink. Part of the yard is for car parking, and under one of the buildings we offer garage cells. At our clients' request, we offer food in the room according to their menu and time of their choice, and for group visits we offer an option with breakfast and dinner included in selected menu. If you need some peace and quiet or you want to learn more about Bulgarian history by visiting the sights of the old capital, Hotel Slavianska Dusha is always open to you.
Friendly, comfortable and well located

It is well located right in the middle of the old town and the owners were very friendly and helped us with some printing bus tickets for our onward travel. Recommended.

Avoid! Do not waste your money or time
Reviewed By the_only_planetBellow I will describe the difference between the information provided during the initial conversation with the hotel representative and the reality on arrival: • Check-in timeslot misinformation - the actual check-in was 3pm (instead of 2pm as stated during the phone call) check-out still same - their excuse was the pandemic situation. • We were forced to pay prior Check-in! - during the phone call, the receptionist claimed we could pay at anytime during the stay. • Issues with the parking - " we have enough parking spaces outside the hotel including a free underground parking and you would definitely have a parking space in the underground car park" - was the statement of the receptionist. On our arrival there were no parking spaces available even the promissed one (big problem for Veliko Turnovo city centre). Later on, it appeared that the underground car park is not free! • All amenities in the SPA centre are free for the hotel guests except the massage - was what the receptionist stated on the phone call. This was not true at all! On arrival, the receptionist told us that the sauna and the steam bath cost 10lv each for each person who uses them... Free were the 4m long kids pool and the jacuzzi. • The AC system didn't work in the room - the fuse was down. Later on, it appeared the management schedule when the cooling system to operate. • Tsarevets fortress room view .. Well, yes. If you pop out your head outside the window and bend your neck you might see it. • Breakfast... let's say that the coffee was ok. The conclusion: deffently not a claimed 4 star fancy hotel and the appropriate service - miscommunication between the personnel, not so professional attitude. Do not expect a warm wellcome and a smille.

“No go” experience

The great views from the lobby bar and the conference room are the only positive thing to mention about the property. All the rest was…very disappointing: small room with No wardrobe. Chilling experience in May (there was an electric heater left in the room); the mattress was the most torturing one I had came across. Door is locked by a key ? from both sides. Very inconvenient as well. Bathroom was the real….s*it/surprise: tiny with a shower over the toilet. Inconvenient and disgusting….to make things worse, the hot water was not available at any time, as it was heated by a heater?. I wouldn’t recommend staying there. The only nice thing is the view, so you can visit for a cocktail ? only.

Reviewed By Carmen194This is a small family hotel located within walking distance to the main sights, shops, bars and restaurants, yet it is very quiet. The room was very clean and spacious and had a lovely view of the river and art museum. The bathroom was small, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast was good and plentiful. A mini bar and a tea/coffee maker were available in the room, which we found very hepful. The hotel owner and staff were very friendly, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome. Would definitely stay here again.

Stunning views at back of hotel

Very large room that included a twin bed which I pushed together, a table with 2 very comfortable chairs, mini bar, tv, dressing gown and toiletries (no face cloth). Not enough toilet paper was given though and I ran out. Bathroom contained s bath with a shower, a large sink and a toilet. Hotel includes a lovely gift shop, although the souvenir shop opposite is cheaper (check out the rose - as in the flower rose - wine. So yummy!). I had an evening meal and breakfast here, both of shich were tasty. The views at the back of the hotel are stunning (the front of the hotel faces the street), so ask for a room that faces the back if you can (it should also be quieter). The lift has a panoramic view, although there are stairs if you don’t like lifts. The staff are friendly here. I would stay here again.

Asenevtsi Park Hotel is situated a few hundred meters from Velchova Zavera square near Veliko Tarnovo downtown. The newly founded at the end of 2015 hotel complex is a lovely quiet spot in the forest and it has a beautiful view of the historical hill of Trapezitsa and Patriarchal Cathedral located on top of the fortified Tsarevets hill.

Reviewed By Lili2303We stayed here for 4 nights and it was great value for money. The hotel is impeccably clean, the pool is big and very nice and the restaurant serves fresh, tasty dishes. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend!

Reviewed By 109sevdagThe hotel has a wonderful panoramic view over Tsarevets and Trapesitsa, as well as common terrace and outdoor pool. The place was very clean, freshly renovated. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very kind and friendly. The hotel is located on a hill and It takes about 10 minutes on foot to get from there down to Samovodska Charshia, but the view is totally worth it. I definitely recommend staying there!
