Such great service

We came here for our 20th Anniversary. The Keramas are amazing and this is the most secluded beach you may ever get. The hotel is a little dated and the food is traditional Okinawan. We had the best time. The staff treated us like royalty. They were exceptionally kind. We went snorkeling in the beach outside the hotel and saw more turtles than we have ever seen. At least 7 of them. The water was amazing. The staff also allowed us to check in early and leave late. You will not go wrong staying here.

The beach is fantastic, the "hotel" is just a place to stay and enjoy this paradise

Reviewed By lubokujira

I would not say that the hotel is truly a "hotel" more like a hostel of a sort. Very basic, somewhat clean, and located conveniently about 50m from the beach. The breakfast could have been a bit better. It was annoying to have been kicked out at 9 am precisely by the staff. Make sure you check out by 10 am, even though the ferry is not until 4.00 or 4.30 pm, because you will be charged 2,500 yen for overstaying. That is rather annoying, because when we arrived was 11 am, and had to stay around with our luggage until 2 or 3 pm to check in, then on the way out, we had the same experience. Mercifully, the hotel lets you leave at your own risk the luggage at the counter room. There is a nice bar that is worth checking out, called something like One and ½ Half or like that. Very authentic, check it out. If you are lucky, you will get some craft beer too. We were not so lucky and had to resort to the ordinary Orion draft - a dreadful drink, reminiscent to Budwiser.

We stayed a night in this back packers on Toshisiki island. The owner Merino was awesome, helped us out so much. He made our stay better and helped us book a diving trip. There was great cooking facilities and the super market is only 1 min away.

Attentive Family-Run Establishment with Excellent Location

Reviewed By 12LC

Breakfast and dinner here were thoughtfully prepared and traditional Japanese food. The rooms are also very traditional, with tatami matts and small bathroom. The staff is very very nice and goes out of their way to do what they can to improve your stay. The location is fantastic - only a few blocks to beautiful Aharen beach. Right in town, it is easy to visit other shops and restaurants. After some translation challenges we were able to arrange the shuttle from/ to the ferry which was very helpful. Be prepared that this is an older building. It is well-kept but not the cleanest. The air conditioning was an older unit. Internet only really worked in the lobby area. We did get a non-smoking room. As long as you can accept the relaxed "beach hotel vibe" you will enjoy your stay!

Kame Kame House

Perfect!

Reviewed By Adam G

Amazing little guesthouse right in the middle of Aharen. We planned to stay 3 nights and then added on 2 more. The location is great, two minutes from the beach and close to the local restaurants, dive-hire shops, etc Rooms are bright and spacious, the whole building is clean and well maintained. Kame-san collected us from the port and gave us plenty of local information, as well as a ride back at the end of our stay. Breakfasts are perfect! A good mix of western and Japanese food items.

Loved it here

Reviewed By VirtualBlonde

2 adults stayed in a western room, 1 night off season. We spent a night here so that we could experience a scuba dive which we hadn’t done before. All the staff were friendly and our limited Japanese wasn’t an issue along with sign language. The room was quite basic but very functional. Breakfast was Japanese and was fine. We were picked up from Tokashiki port and taken back the next day which was great. The scuba diving and instruction was superb. The area is very quiet with limited restaurants open as it was off season, however the convenience store had some good cold options. It is a stunning island and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the hotel again.

Tokashiki Guesthouse

The cabins are found on the mountain between Tokashiku and Aharen villages on Tokashiki island, in the Kerama region of Okinawas outer islands. A very reasonable, clean place to stay with great staff who are more than capable of speaking English.

A unique experience.

Being on this island was an incredible experience. There are two identical cabins at this location. It is a beautiful spot. The cabin was great for our needs. There is no one else around. Mr. Yamamoto was exceptionally kind and prompt in helping us with our transportation needs. He took us to the beaches in Aharen and Tokashiku as well as picking us up upon arrival and for our departure.
