We have 24 cabins, sleeping up to 5 people. We were known as Sleepy Lagoon Hotel Motel, but we now are a separate entity, hotel is next door with a different lessee. We have been undergoing refurbishments since taking over business in May 2014. Now we are known as Tin Can Bay's Sleepy Lagoon Motel. We offer single night stays and a discount for 2 nights or more getaways. Approx 3 mins to world-renowned daily dolphin feeding. 25 Mins to Rainbow Beach and barge to Fraser Island.

Tin Can Bay Motel is a most relaxing and tranquil place to stay. With an extensive lawn area shaded by large palms, barbeque & pergola area and a heart shaped pool, we’ll have you relaxing in no time. Should you want to explore, the estuary walks start at the end of the street and go for miles, there are dolphins to feed at Norman Point every morning, not to mention the fishing, swimming, bird watching, wild flower walks, beach combing and the list goes on. Love the additional touch of fresh milk. It makes a difference to my husbands coffee!! Location is very serene and relaxed Also dog friendly which is very important to us.

Located in a secure, gated complex each villa is situated directly on the water of Snapper Creek with beautiful views over the Star Marina and the creek. These extremely well-equipped self-catering one and two bedroom villas have huge decks, are air conditioned, great kitchen, huge plasma TV and undercover parking for two vehicles. With salt-water pool and BBQ its the perfect place to relax.

Right on the Marina - our villas positioned perfectly so that we could both see and easily access our boats. The villas themselves are modern, clean and very comfortable. Facilities are first class and Managers Kathryn and Dave are the perfect hosts. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them, especially Kathryn who is absolutely lovely and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. I would highly recommend staying here either on your way to Fraser Island or for a peaceful getaway on the water. Five stars!

Last time I had a cabin but this time I stayed in my van under the trees near the facilities ...toilets, laundry, and walk to the Marina at the back and the par and walking track on the other side. Tin Can Bay has great walking tracks for birds and photography and this central location is wonderful. The caravan park is well equipped and you can book tours and trips at the front desk. The dolphin feeding is down the road and a small take away supplies great fish and chips

Reviewed By John_StiggyI was lucky enough to find the TCB tourist park a night from hell in a place on the same street. Straight away Mel and her team made me feel so welcome. The cabin was ideal for a short or long stay, fully appointed and a real pleasure to come back do after a long day of flood relief. The staff were incredibly helpful and the wood fired pizza van was unbelievably good. I can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to coming back as soon as I can. John - RapidActionSport.

We're back travelling after Covid!
Reviewed By NomadsBrisbaneMy wife and I had enough of sitting around at home and headed back on the road for a car trip to Townsville to visit relatives. We detoured off the main highway for a night at the Sandcastle Motel at Tin Can Bay. We have stayed there a few times over the years and we noticed that the rooms have been upgraded with larger screen TVs and new carpets. Telstra mobile reception was patchy in the past but Telstra seems to have upgraded the towers and reception is great now. Wi-Fi reception in our room was good and fast. The room was spotlessly clean and no odours thanks to their "no smoking in the rooms" policy. All ground floor, no stairs, very quiet location, solid concrete walls so no noise from adjoining rooms. They are always very friendly.

Reviewed By rodgerh1955I stayed at the backpackers for several nights ,the rooms were clean along with the toilets and showers. The staff could not be more helpful ,happy, cheerful ,and willing to help in any way they could . The food in the restaruant was of an exceptional standard . The locals friendly , has all you need ,TAB ,KENO ,ect. Situated in a central location close to shops ,the RSL ,Fuel ,all within walking distance. Plenty of off street parking. I really didn`t want to leave , it was so relaxed and friendly. I live approx. 1000 kms. south in NSW but I have already started to pack ready to go back this time for a longer stay. If you are going up this way DON`T miss out.
