La Villa Ouest is situated in the seaside resort of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer only 50 metres from the beach. It offers free Wi-Fi internet access. Each room has a flat-screen TV and a bathroom with a bath or shower. A buffet breakfast is served every morning in the communal lounge. Guests can also experience the hotel's tea room. The picturesque oyster-producing village of Mornac is 10 km away and La Palmyre Zoo is a 10 minutes drive. The island of Oléron is within 1 hour drive. Royan Train Station and its town centre are less than 15 minutes' by car. Set at garden level in a gentle driftwood feel you will have access to our new garden Spa "The Maeva" opened from 9 AM to 8 PM everyday with sauna, steam room and outdoor jacuzzi. Laetitia, qualified from A to Zen school and the Thai massage school at Chiang Mai in Thailand will welcome you all week in our treatment room (by appointment). With Body massage, foot reflexology or aromatherapy let yourself be carried away by her precious skills and choose which therapy will offer you a pure moment of relaxation.
Nice hotel in a great location
Reviewed By philips248Just had a pleasant night’s stay in La Villa Ouest. We had a garden room which was on the small side, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice bathroom and good shower. The garden room also has access through its own back door, which is handy for bringing cases in. Great location as the hotel is just off the beach and a couple of minutes walk into town. Good breakfast with plenty of selection and everything nice quality. There’s no parking on site but plenty around the hotel and free in Saint Palais. The staff were friendly. I presume it was family run because it had that person and caring feel.

Great for as two night stay but..........
Reviewed By holiday096We arrived early but Madame answered the bell, welcomed us in English, was very pleasant and showed us to our apartment. It was simple, well enough appointed and very clean. After unpacking we had a stroll and then to the outdoor, covered, pool. We were enjoying a swim when 'M Le Director' suddenly appeared and, with a most unpleasant manner, insisted that I was not allowed in the pool wearing my 'Maine' swimming shorts, I had to have tight fitting swimming trunks. He insisted that I left the pool!! Madame, the peacemaker, them appeared with a bag of tight fitting swimming trunks which I accepted. My conversation with 'M Le Director' didn't reach as far as explaining why the ban on swimming shorts. Les Flots is in a good location, only a 15 min stroll into town and offers very clean, simply furnished rooms, but the unpleasant attitude of 'Monsieur' would prevent us staying there again.

I suggest this destination in case of a trip to this corner of France. Near the beach with good services in the town center. Dont forget to visit the restaurant,awesome french menus. Breakfast is perfect also.

Reviewed By Mark JIt's a bit like being in an Agatha Christie novel. The building is beautiful and the lounge room/salon is amazing. We stay here a lot and the hotel, the position, the views, etc are all brilliant. The staff a really friendly and the breakfast is quite good, too. We always look forward to escaping to this little gem for a few days.

excellent place to stay
Reviewed By paul rjust returned from a 7 night stay at "le clos". we had a lovely time. our room "libellule" was clean and tidy and had a private garden at the rear. breakfast was excellent. the garden is excellent with a lovely pool at the centre. Richard is a great host, nothing was too much trouble

Good and reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance. Site was busy and not much space between pitches but some shade from the sun in the hot weather. Very helpful staff. Mix of cabins and camping pitches

Reviewed By Amleska04Great location at the Grande Côte, close to the beach, some restaurants, a very good bakery and not too far from Saint-Palais-sur-Mer. The apartments were mediocre though. For the price we paid, we are used to getting much more comfort. The apartment itself was nice and clean (although we had a bit of an ant problem), but the decor, facilities and equipment just mediocre. The furniture looks nice, but is very uncomfortable and unpractical. The bed was horrible, our bodies were painful after 2 days, ditto when we sat on the couch or the dining chairs for a while. The fridge was small and there was no freezer. There was only few cutlery, glasses and plates (4 of everything in a 4 person apartment), which meant that the dishwasher had to work overtime. The pans were too big for the (2) cooking plates, so it was almost impossible to use both plates. The balcony had a nice size, but because of the table and chairs it was impossible to open the windows and shutters without moving the furniture around. Wi-Fi is not included in the renting price but has to be paid separately for quite a high price. We are not used to that in these modern times. The swimming pool was nice. Clean and of a good size. However there were only 3 parasols available, which was not nearly enough for all guests looking for shade. People were dragging their chairs to sit next to some bushes just to hide from the sun. Also, there was a large set of rules at the entry of the pool, but they were not enforced. Especially in our 2nd week balls were flying around and the pool was filled with air beds and toys. Also, a lot of noise and screaming. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
