Excellent base for hiking in Aletsch Arena
Reviewed By 840joannehSuperb location with great hosts, who looked after our hiking group with great care, thoughtful touches and helpful advice. Last minute changes were accommodated with no problems, breakfast was excellent and the bar area/dining room is cosy, friendly and welcoming.

Reviewed By Argo5Our room, at the end on the bottom floor, was large and comfortable, with a fold-up double bed, a sofa, a table and a furnished balcony. To our surprise we also found it had a very well-equipped kitchenette. The next time we go there, we would definitely make use of this, especially for breakfast, since the included one consists of coffee, juice and bread. The location is perfect, right below the gondola and near the supermarket. Owners very friendly. Since we asked to have extra pillows and blankets to replace the duvets, but did not receive them, we can't give them high marks for service.

The Royal, our exceptional mountain hotel in Switzerland, is a reflection of extensive peace and quiet. Here we would like to invite guests 14 or older to a relaxing holiday. We have captured nature in the suites of our 4-star superior hotel on the Riederalp, in the wellness area and at the restaurant. At the same time, our guesthouse offers you an appealing design, comfort and the highest level of indulgence. Design & comfort at the hotel on the Riederalp A large part of our guesthouse is built from locally sourced construction materials and therefore emanates a certain degree of genuineness. Regional matured timber and oak timber parquet flooring and wooden wall panels in many of our 25 suites and junior suites lend our 4-star superior hotel on the Riederalp an elegant ambience with a high feel-good factor. Solely dark and red seating furniture and subtle accessories set accents in the 40-65 m² junior suites. Even the luxury bathrooms captivate simply with modest elegance. Each of the suites is perfectly soundproofed to the neighbouring one and therefore offers absolute privacy. At the same time, each suite has a balcony, where you can spend some time with a view to our gorgeous high plateau. The suites of up to 120 m² are distinguished by a customised interior design, for example the presidential suite in country style. We let these rooms in our 4-star superior mountain hotel in Switzerland upon request. Reception desk & restaurant at the 4-star superior hotel in the Valais Below the ground floor, the hotel is connected to a rotunda where the reception desk and the Royal restaurant are located. Swiss pine wood and an emphasis on only a few room elements facilitate a cosy naturalness to light up here as well. In addition, the Alpine world is part of the indulgent experience as seen through the panorama windows of the gourmet restaurant. Apart from that, we also offer the option to hold seminars in this exceptional atmosphere. Wellness, skiing & golf at the mountain hotel in Switzerland In the lower part of the building is the wellness area in the style of an old Valais village. There is also the ski storage area and a dressing room here: If you want to answer the call of the slopes after checkout, you can change your clothes here before and after your run on the slopes. In the summer, the golf course invites you to golf among unique scenery in front of the 4-star superior Valais hotel.
Fantastic location
Reviewed By MilanoSwimmerWe spent some days across the end of the year in riederalp a car free peaceful village on a plateau oriented toward south where ski out ski in is a reality. Weather and snow where fantastic the panorama of the 4000 meters mountains of saas fee and zermat and the Aletch glacier are breathtaking. As a negative note we found the slopes without maintenance worsening day after day. Nothing comparable with italian alps. The hotel royal is brand new and the suite we got was perfect with an incredible view of the mountains with spectacular sunrise and sunset . One if the best accomodations in a mountain hotel. The restaurant connected with a tunnel to building was small but confortable. The food was as good as it can be in a german swiss village . Breakfast was ok but may be some improovement would be helpful. As an exsmple instead of offering champagne freshly squeezed oranges would be appreciated. The service staff was very nice and willful but was clearly lacking experience. Communication was in english but quite difficult. Clearly the absence of an experienced maitre was evident. In the hotel there was a very pubblicized spa but we never tried because we are not interested. In summary a fabulous location and accomodation with some limitation if you are not a german swiss.

Fantastic view on the mountains with olf fashioned interior
Reviewed By rajangWe had a balcony, which we could use in winter since the sun shines straight in. Great views on the swiss mountains. The interior of the room looks like back in the sixties. However everything is very clean and you do not have the impression of worn out - beside the bathroom is very up to date. Excellent breakfast included.

Our chalet is located in riederalp, a car-free village in the protected and recognized area of the aletsch arena as a unesco world heritage site. It overlooks the conches valley, at 1900 meters altitude, above mörel, in the upper Valais and will welcome you to practice various activities in summer and winter as skiing, snowshoes, tobogganing, mountain biking, golf, paragliding, walking …

Reviewed By Yvan RThis is a great chalet owned by "Nature Friends Association". Well located along the road between Riederalp and Bettmeralp. There is even an electric bus line that stops 200 meters away from the chalet It has common kitchen, dining rooms, showers and toilets. There are 8 dormatories rooms. Don't expect to be in a hotel but very convenient when hiking in the Swis Alps. Of course, we had a cheese fondue and the guardian let us use the necessary equipment.
