We have stayed here numerous times and have always had a wonderful experience. Staff are kind and caring, breakfast cook fresh and is very tasty. We always request a downstate room because we travel with our 2 dogs. They have never let us down.

Great location but......

Reviewed By vincemc

This is not one of the best WordMark hotels. After you have been here a few hours you will notice that the hotel can be quite noisy. If you are on the ground floor, you can hear everything on the floor above you. The rooms are not very spacious. However, the room was clean and well equipped. The bed was a bit too soft for our liking. And the bathrooms are quite small. On the other hand, the staff were very friendly and courteous. The hotel is well situated. It is right beside a ski lift and the river. everything in town is within reasonable walking distance. Also, the Wi-Fi was not working during our stay. However, you could get a Wi-Fi connection at the lobby. Not certain if this is a short term problem in early July 2021 and I impression that may be of longer duration

Deer Lodge Red River

Outdated and poor customer service. Very disappointed.

Nobody ever in the office during office hours. No housekeeping on site. I had to request a vacuum cleaner in order to clean the carpet in our room. Had to call the manager to come out so I could get towels. Someone was supposed to pick them up daily off of your porch, but that never happened. No plugs to speak of in the room, the bathroom was horrific with just a sink top and expose pipes underneath. Kitchen was very small and a drawer front fell off five minutes after we checked in and I touched it. The play area for children was not safe. There was a dog poop in front of all of the cabins, it was disgusting. The positive that I can say was our bed was comfortable and the heater worked well. There were very Highwinds during our stay and it never got cold in our room. I was rather put off by the fact that the manager complained when we called him to come out due to electrical issues, which the men in our group had to switch out breakers while he sat and watched. More than once he complained about it being his day off and him having to come out and take care of things because his daughter, who is supposed to be running the office, was never there. He always wanted to blame the 82-year-old owner John for everything we complained about. The electrical is not safe and he said that John said he doesn’t have to fix anything because he’s grandfathered. So the safety of the guests is not a priority to either the owner or the manager. I would not recommend anyone stay here, especially a family. Might be OK for a bachelor who is just there to ski. We definitely won’t be back. On a sidenote, we had to leave early and left the keys with family to turn in when they checked out. Check out time is 11 AM. Steve was calling me two hours before check out to ask for the keys.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Reviewed By 739morgank

Worst experience I have ever had. Don’t stay here!!!! The service is AWFUL! You’ll have to ask for your own towels and take out your own trash out. The “owner” literally got in my face and yelled at me to put a mask on. Everyone sitting there didn’t have one on but she felt the need to get in my face to tell me I needed one. She’s rude and has been since the day we checked in. Yes it’s free parking, but good luck finding a spot. They cater more towards the restaurant customers than the people from out of state, staying here. If you appreciate a racist, confrontational owner then this is the place for you.
