We recently had a one night stay in one of the queen rooms. My major issue (which security is pretty important to me), when I originally checked in, I was only provided one room card which is totally fine. On our way out that night, my partner approached the reception area which was being manned by a different staff member who completed check in. My partner simply asked for an extra key to room X and was handed over a card with no questioning as to his ID or any details of booking. Annoyingly, once this second card was issued, the original card stopped working. I thought this was very poor given a room key was handed out to our room without even checking who was asking for it! The room itself was fine. There was some damage to the roof in our room that he been poorly painted over, but no biggie. The bed itself was comfortable but pillows were terrible and no spares provided in the room. It was so uncomfortable I considered driving home at 1am. The shared bathrooms are fine. Close to rooms and were clean. The tapware in two different showers fell off in my hand whilst I was showering. The bar staff downstairs were fairly rude when we arrived back late to ask how time the kitchen closed - there is much better options to eat nearby anyway. Overall, given its location, I think this place has some good potential if it was ran properly. Given it is owned by ALH Group, I'm assuming they are waiting to knock it down and put large apartments on it in the future.

The best value for our adult family group anywhere on the Coast was here. We just needed a place to sleep and found this room freshly cleaned and refurbished. Beds were super comfy and great price directly booked. Pleasantly and positively surprised.

The good & the bad

Some good features, but would not stay again Ups: Fantastic position, right on the beach, a couple of good cafes nearby (good because there is NO facility for a decent coffee in the room, please just put a plunger in the room). Ground floor is great, excellent pool, small but adequate gym, nice grounds. Downs: our room was not clean, almost every surface had a greasy smear over it, including floors & crockery. Bath was dirty, we didn’t use it. Hair on tiles. Very dated and tired unit. 2 outdoor chairs provided, 1 not useable, broken. Could go on … The ‘welcome pack’ is seriously minimal, 1 towel per person for our 6 day stay, 1 sachet of dish liquid inadequate. Yes, you can buy more, but really ?‍♀️ 2 lifts available, but they were only both working 2 of our 6 days, 1 day neither working.. Limited wifi per stay, who still does that? My last night, turned the telly on for the 1st time, then the jug, pop, no power Common areas often stink of cigarettes, very unpleasant. Manager, Joanne was very kind helping me to arrange a booking change at the last minute, but unfortunately doesn’t take away from a poor stay. I’ve moved to an Airbnb, 100% better. Yes it’s a cheap stay, so I guess you get what you pay for. Be warned

Happy with the room and facilities

We stayed in a renovated room on the 24th out of 25 floors. The view was great as were the rooms. My parents stayed in a non-renovated room and you could tell it needed updating but they seemed to be happy with it. We did have some small spiders hiding in the curtains so it could do with a pest spray. The room was fully tiled (carpet in bedrooms) and the furniture was new. Location wise, it’s right on the beach which was great, it has a pool (with a slide) and heated spa. There is 1 1/2 tennis courts on the grounds as well as a mini golf course (it wasn’t that great). It is only just up the road from some restaurants, take away and supermarket, as well as a pub. Hit up a place called ‘The Collective’ it is great food and is a good place to meet up. We went to both Sea World and Movie World, both were disappointing (especially Sea World) as a number of rides were closed for ‘maintenance’ during the school holidays as well as long lines (2 1/2 hour wait for some rides) that they are blaming on COVID, even though only 1 carriage out of 2 was running on most rides which doesn’t make sense to me. They are both about 30 minutes from the resort. We also took a punt and drove up to Australia Zoo on one day which took about 2 hours.

Great location on the beach

I stayed for 2 nights in a studio room with my granddaughter and we loved it! The studio had 2 king single beds which was perfect for us. The studio could probably best be described as a hotel room with kitchenette really. The room was really nicely decorated and clean and neat. The TV was set up to allow streaming from your own device which was handy if you have that capacity from your device. The tiny kitchenette had a microwave, bar fridge and sink, with basic cutlery, glasses, cups and some tea and coffee sachets provided. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room had air conditioning. We had a lovely balcony which looked out to the ocean, with two big outdoor chairs to relax on with a small table. In the room there was also an ironing board and Iron and a clothes airer which was very useful. There was undercover secure parking in the basement which was good as the road out the front is very busy with little parking. The pool has a shade sail over part of it which was great and meant we could stay out longer. There was also a spa. There were sun lounges scattered around and the pool is right next to the walking path by the beach. We spent a lot of time there. We walked to a wonderful local café on the first morning and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. I will also review that venue. The next morning we headed in the other direction, towards Tallebudgera Creek, to look for breakfast. On our way, the skies opened and we got drenched but we managed to find a hole in the wall coffee place with delicious muffins there. We had planned to go back later that day to Tallebudgera Creek but apparently it was totally full of cars and people. Even early morning was pretty busy which is understandable given the calm waters and beaches for those with small children. The only thing that was a slight issue was the limited time of onsite management for checking in/out. I’m sure there are work arounds though. The staff, when we did see them, were efficient and very nice.

Stayed in apt 54 which was well appointed. Although a bit older, this complex is very well maintained and the low rise setting lovely. Not all apartments have ocean views so ask when booking. Pools were great and access to both surf beach and the more gentle estuary are great for families. Cafe right next door was also great to have for morning coffee.

The only place to stay!

We have stayed on the gold coast on a regular basis for 10 years and I wish I had stayed here! For a start, speak or email with Deb directly. She is so lovely and will guide you with the apartment best suited to your needs. She offers a wonderful personal experience without encroaching on your privacy. The apartment we stayed in was amazing! Top end from start to finish. It had just been renovated and offered everything needed. Beds are so comfy with plenty of pillows and blankets if required. The location would have to be the very best on the coast, you can practically touch the water from your deck. It was just the two of us but this is the best every spot to bring the kids. BBQs, fantastic pool & spa and an easy space to supervise. You will not be able to beat the customer service, location and amenities. Thankyou Deb & Gary

Disappointed at treatment during QLD floods

Reviewed By the_laura_johnson

Booked to stay through booking.com to pay at venue, card was processed ahead of arrival which is a non issue however we were stranded in the floods in northern NSW. The priority was getting to safety, we contacted the hotel to let them know and were told they would call us before they closed. We called them to tell them we wouldn’t get across the border. We ended up being stranded surrounded by floods, so cancelled our booking. The hotel made some excuse about no longer refunding due to losing so much money during covid! While we are fortunate many don’t have homes to go home to we do, the offer of reallocating the dates is insufficient considering the payment terms were pay on arrival. The hidden cost of businesses treating consumers appalling during what are natural disasters is absurd. Right up and down the coast people are looking for places to stay and booking out accommodation places. This hotel literally took out the payment that would be much better allocated right now after this week. I’m disgusted at the treatment and more so the evoking of their so called payment terms and conditions which have since been changed on booking.com!
