Nice quiet rooms. Interesting decor. Brilliant holiday in this area of France. Not far from Colmar. Pretty town Kaysersberg close by, good contender for Bruges.

Reviewed By SianAllford9999999lovely little hotel, we were late and they laid out a beautiful meal for us rooms are a little dated but very clean and layout was slightly odd staff really lovely and welcoming would defo stay again !

OK hotel
Reviewed By Temp_2008Nice hotel, nice clean but small room, friendly staff. Low waterpressure in the shower. Standing in the bath tub. Very low on shampoo - 1 tiny portion in a tiny plastic bag per person. After a 15 km hike maybe someone would like 2 showers on a 1 night stay? A quite big supermarket "Intermarché" 10 minute walk away on Rue Charles de Gaulle. Follow Rue de Gaulle east to the big intersection with route de Tannach and turn left (Rue Charles de Gaulle). The supermarket is on the right side of the road. Keep an eye out for the sign "Intermarché". There is a laundrette there too with three large washing machines. There is also a little supermarket further up the road (west) 3 minutes away. Noisy hotel. Very unpractical room. Diner was nice. Breakfast quite poor.

The atypical character of the domain of Pairis our family to make him(it) live again, former(old) hotel today holiday cottage(shelter) which can welcome family, friends, group or even with couple. He(It) has a capacity of sleeping around of 28 people. All the rooms(chambers) have a private bathroom. A big part to be lived is has arrangement(measure) of the dinner guests with a dining room, tv , corner(place) sofas with fireplace, garden, spaces out outside meal.

Located just at the edge of the forest, very green and nice walks possibilities. Terrace seats for sunny days. Parking possibility just besides the hotel A perfect retreat to visit the Vosges and Alsace from another point of view

We are pleased to welcome you into our "Chambres d'hôtes". The hotel is located between Alsace and the Vosges Mountains, in a peaceful town called Orbey. The hotel has 5 rooms with big bed or twin beds, all equipped with bathroom with shower. You can also access internet wireless in the hotel.
Short stop over from Basel
Reviewed By Dickie DWe were looking for a place to stay overnight whilst travelling back from Basel and not having to drive back to Colmar the day after. Le Saut de la Truite was an ideal solution. The rooms were clean although simple. The evening meal was copius and excellent value. The accueil was excellent, made to feel welcome and part of the family. Managed to get a small walk in before dinner taking in the altitude and views of the Vosges.

Disappointing
Reviewed By bikerchick39We went shoe shoeing today at Lac Blanc and called in here for lunch. A beautiful sunny day. Les Terrasses has a lovely balcony area with a great view and perfect sun trap. If only we had just had a drink and not lunch. We had 2 starters for lunch, both of which were very poor quality, poorly presented and very small serving. We were very reluctantly given bread. We decided not to order anything else and left hungry and very disappointed. Will not be visiting again.

Not great for individual travellers/families - aimed at coach parties

First the good - free parking, just by hotel Great location - well, for us anyway. A stopover driving North through France and close enough to come back to after spending the day at Riquewihr. Very good bar in the village 5 minutes walk away with superb food.(Au Chasseur Alpin) Great facilities - sauna, steam room (closed for repairs when we were there but these things happen), fantastic large indoor pool. Free pool table, table tennis, fussball and indoor gym Excellent staff - efficient helpful barman (who sorted out noise problems - more on him later!), warm, friendly and helpful reception - they opened up the bar to make us coffees for a quick start when we were leaving, rather than having to go to restaurant for breakfast. Sounds idyllic right? Unfortunately it is a hotel really aimed at coach parties rather than individual families. 2 coach parties were there whilst we were there and dominated the place. I don't blame them and they were having a whale of a time but it was wasn't really for everyone else. We had already chosen not to eat in the dining room and were very glad we hadn't as we came back to the hotel to see that it was rammed and there was a party going on in there - they had moved on to what sounded like drinking songs and were bellowing them out. Again, more power to their elbow but not for individual families. The bar had been taken over by a coach group and a disco - again they were having a fantastic time but unfortunately our room was directly overhead and there was no sound proofing. When we realised this we wanted to change rooms but found that there was no-one on reception or managing the hotel after 7pm. The noise was incredibly loud and meant that no-one other than the coach party involved felt welcome in the bar as it was obviously a private party. The barman originally told me it would finish at 11pm but eventually we went to complain at nearly midnight and he made the DJ switch off at that point. (not willingly) Our rooms were 241 and 242 so avoid the corrider from around 230-250 to make sure you're away from the noise! I got the feeling that this is most nights from what another guest was saying at reception.This is all fine but we should have been warned - reception didn't tell us that there was a disco that night directly below us. Rooms not huge or in best condition but we knew that we weren't getting the hotel's best rooms as booked late. Wifi only in public areas - not a major problem for us but upset the teens!

Fantastic guest house, with fantastic hosts
Reviewed By Even FWe stayed at Le Chat Rouge over the weekend and absolutely want to recommend this place. The hosts are incredibly nice and the room was one of the nicest we stayed at. Extremely clean, greatly designed and very spacious with the most comfortable bed. The room has floor to ceiling windows with an uninterrupted view on the valley. Simply stunning. It was equipped with aircon, which was great as the temperature outside reached 39 degrees during our stay. We were there to bike and the host gave us great route recommendations. His wife was also incredibly nice and gave us perfect restaurant and winery recommendations. The room has no TV which is actually quite a nice change. The house is located in a small town that is remote enough so all you hear is the nature but close enough (just a few km) to great tourist locations such as Kaysersberg, Colmar, Eguisheim, Riquewihr and the White and Black lakes. Perfect location for a simple yet luxurious break.
