A perfect stay

Everything you expect from a stay by the fjord is fulfilled at Petrines. Beautiful scenery, delightful interiors, tasteful food and welcoming staff. Comfortable beds and very quiet surroundings. This is a perfect stay-over especially if you don’t want to do both Trollstigen and the Eagle Road in one day (which in my opinion is too much). There’s also a small beach, just a few minutes walk across the road, where we had a swim and went paddleboarding. We will return, for sure!

Valldal Fjord Lodge

Valldal Fjord Lodge is one of the protected original buildings in the old street "Syltegata", which gives the street its charm and character. The hotel got new owners in may 2021. They have been renovated all the rooms, the restaurant and the garden. Proud Sylte mountain rises directly from the bottom of the garden creating a special atmosphere both of dramatics and calm. Our garden is the ideal place for you who want to relax a while from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Here you can let your children play freely, well protected from the busy main road. If you need a break and somewhere to relax while contemplating the impressions of the day - Valldal fjord Lodge is the place, centrally situated in the heart of The Golden Route beside the national tourist highway. Our hotel is a great starting point for those who want to explore the mountains and fjords of one of the most beautiful areas in Western Norway. From here you can visit unique mountain farms, try white water rafting, fish in the fjord and rivers, take a guided tour along the famous Geiranger fjord, follow mountain trails for a few hours or many days, sleeping over in special guest cabins.

Not a fjord view

Reviewed By SlartibarfastLondon

The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. There is a kettle and a nespresso machine in the rooms. We paid extra for the dog and to get a fjord view, as it said on the booking. Well, we got to see into the neighbors garden, the mountains and in the distance a glimpse of a fjord so rather misdleading and not worth the money. Breakfast is not included so it does get rather pricey. Service was a bit terse. No welcome upon arrival or suggestion that we should book dinner. Just, here is the bill and please pay now. Oh, and we were given a paper with house rules including no candles in the room. The food was hit or miss. The meat was treated well but the potatoes abused as to lose all flavor and texture. Lasagna was just lots of pasta layers with little sauce.

Amazing stay without the tourists!

Reviewed By esratq

We stayed here between Aug 9-13th 2021 . The place was very spacious (family of four , 2 kids 8 and 12 yrs). The location is amazing. At first we were hesitant since we arrived after 10 pm and it took some time to get here from E6 because of the narrow roads. But for visiting all the nearby fjord towns this is perfect . It's roughly 30-40min away from Geiranger if you are not used to driving the narrow roads. The thing we liked the most about Norddal is the peacefulness and amazing views! The apartment had everything you need for a long stay. SIMON the host was very attentive responding quickly. The beds were very comfortable. Kids uses the sofa bed and said it was better than the Radisson Blu sofa bed! The apartment is a bit dated 80s style and the pictures of the port is not so true but really the fjord is literally outside the parking and I would really recommend the morning coffee at the pier and if you walk a few meters ahead there is a stone pathway down to the fjord for you to take a breathtaking swim. This is the perfect place for family and you definitely need a car to commute. For groceries we brought most of the things with us but there is a store by the parking. We also recommend to take the ferry from Eidsdal to Linde and shop at Bunnpris ! :) we loved this place and would highly recommend it! Bring your fishing! :)

A place where you feel at home. Very clean. A delightful view right on the edge of the fjord. The hosts are warm and particularly welcoming. It is close to Geirainger and very easy to access. Prices are very good compared to the services offered. I recommend apartment number one and number two.

Everything was perfect. We set up a tent for one night, everything was really clean and showers were nice. View by the water and our campsite was really nice. You can also order burgers and fries at the reception which was really nice too. Will definitely stay here again next time!

Nice little place to spend a few days. While the cabin is little on the cozy side, it did have everything we needed; bed, kitchen area and dining area. We used it as a base for a little hiking and sightseeing. Loved the area, very quiet and peaceful.

Average hostel

Reviewed By radka_kr

It is kind of hostel, the room was not very spacious, but clean. WC and showers are on the floor. Breakfast ws simple but fresh. The hostel is "offering" hot tub and some activities, nobody available to book / ask . We were staying one night only, and it was just about enough. The location is not so good, far from a shop (ok if by car). No restaruants outside the hotel....
