A good hotel in the centre of Lille
Reviewed By Joseph PA good hotel in the centre of Lille. In the superior room it is difficult to enter the bath, nothing to hold to it is dangerous to elderly people. We were supposed to pay 431.12 Euro and were asked to pay 451.12. when asked why we were told it was because of our early arrival. We arrived around noon, and we were not told a supplement would be needed. We refused to pay the additional 20 Euros and the hotel did not insist. I ask myself, is this the policy of the hotel?

Reviewed By Karl RThe hotel presented well, the rooms nice and spacious. I had ample space to assemble and store my bicycle, and my corner room had excellent views. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would go back again.

Could have been a 5* experience but......
Reviewed By TablepourdeuxThis is a wonderfully located hotel with beautiful rooms and a lovely Club lounge - and the staff were generally friendly and engaging. Just one thing spoiled our 5 day visit, the lack of air conditioning in our room. We visited during a warmish period (sunny days of 26C) and our room was south facing in the afternoon. When we entered our room it was extremely warm and we found that the a/c controller would only activate the fan and not supply chilled air to the room. We contacted reception and were told that it would be looked into. When nothing changed we reported it again on our second day to a different person on reception and were informed that it was centrally controlled and was not yet switched over to the summer setting!!! This is despite the fact that public areas, such as the Club room (and corridors) were definitely air-conditioned and required a sweater in the morning. A third report to reception was sympathetic and promised it would be looked at, but nothing changed. It is difficult to understand a) why the problem of no a/c in our room was not resolved; b) why we were never given a satisfactory explanation as to what the cause of the problem was; and c) why a new hotel should be having problems with a/c in guest rooms but not in public areas. We had three nights of uncomfortable heat in our room which resulted in poor sleep which spoiled our overall experience. Such a shame, as there is so much to like about this hotel. They need to try harder to resolve such issues for customers.

A perfect pre-baby week of relaxation and treats
Reviewed By Stefanie WWe just spent six days here for a special pre-baby holiday (babymoon!) What a relaxing stay. We had a duplex suite and wow it was so big and fancy and we felt very lucky with our Secret Escapes deal. The hotel staff were all polite and friendly. The pool and spa is very special and tranquil. I dread going back to my local pool after being spoilt with a week of swimming there! At 22 x 10metres it's a proper pool and not one of these annoying tiny plunge pools some spa hotels have. I had a "mamma's" massage and a facial. I've never got close to falling asleep during a massage but for the first time this extremely soothing massage did it to me. (a few times!) We loved drinks in the main atrium bar each day, (although my only improvement to the whole hotel would be adding some local non-alcoholic beer to their menus as you only have sugary drinks or sugary mocktails to choose if you don't drink) as well as a few coffes sitting in the sun in the courtyard. Breakfasts were good, and dinners in the same Galeria restaurant also very tasty. They have a good value three course menu and good value, tasty wines (so my boyfriend tells me!). The absolute icing on the cake was La Storia restaurant. Wowee - they make the whole evening an experience, rather than just dinner. Don't be put off thinking it's more expensive than Galeria or other places as they certainly give you your money's worth. I've never received so many lovely complimentary touches during one meal, from the amuse bouche, to the delicious and never-ending foccaccia, to the pre and post mini desert treats. The staff in there are also incredibly attentive and well trained. Most importantly the food is delicious of course. Thank you to the hotel for a truly memorable stay - we'll be dreaming of it during our sleepless nights and constant nappy-changes very soon!

Reviewed By chaulunWe had the family room for 2 nights. Very helpful and friendly staff. We also had dinner in their restaurant, also very good (food AND service, we were with our little children). Location is good and the parking is convenient, the parking costs are very fair.

Reviewed By The_Coach55This Campanile hotel is situated in La Madeleine and is around half a mile on foot from Lille Europe station. It is also a short walk from the Romarin tram stop. My room was fairly basic but sufficient for my needs. A comfortable bed, sufficient clothes hanging space and tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a shower but no bath tub. I did not have breakfast, but used the bar which stayed open quite late. I paid £75 for a one night stay.

Value for money but not great of you aren’t very mobile
Reviewed By Keeley2305The hotel Is situated in the backstreets of what seemed like a residential area of Lille. I am not too mobile so the location for me wasn’t great, it was about 10 mins walk to the metro or further to walk into the centre. Lille itself has a lot of beggars so have your wits about you. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was basic but clean and comfortable although very dark die to small window which was covered by outside plants. Booking.com stated free onsite parking but we didn’t realise we needed to request this on the booking so when we arrived the hotel car park was full and we had to pay €14 to leave our car in the stree outside, which was fine but initially we were dubious due to the location of the hotel. For the price we got what we expected.
