Reviewed By david_pattinson7Our 2nd time at the Gounod which we discovered a few yrs ago. Great location, station 10 mins, promenade 10 mins, Nice Etoile shopping centre 10 mins walk. Clean, comfy with a very caring & efficient staff...and the key word is 'small' , so if you aren't keen on.the big crowded hotels, this is a possibility. We love it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

Reviewed By cpetro760364Very nice central hotel ! Good breakfast and they let us work there which was really nice ! The bed is extra comfortable , excellent shower and nice bath products and terrace for a wine ! Would highly recommend - only thing that could be better is that is a bit expensive !

Great holiday and short stay
Reviewed By timbinhamCould not fault the service and the friendliness of staff. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back. We had a great room on the fifth floor that looked over to the promenade and the sea. Even at dinner the staff were able to give us one of the front tables that overlooked the water making for a truly memorable night. Thanks to all the staff at the Hyatt Regency, great service all round.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the main train station and right in the middle of Jean Medicin - the high street of Nice. Jean medicin station with a direct tram to airport is 250m from the hotel. Beach is about a 10 min leisurely walk through the streets of Nice. The hotel had all the amenities and a decent breakfast spread. Rooms were squeaky clean and housekeeping was on point. The front desk staff was great, very welcoming and always eager to offer their help.

We came here for a few nights for our honeymoon and we’re greeted with an upgraded room, rose petals in our room, and nightly chocolate and water delivery. Everyone is extremely hospitable! We went to the summer bar a few times, and while the prices our high, the ambiance is unbeatable. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and regal with decor! It is perfect, and I cant wait to come back. I will never stay anywhere else in Nice!

Access: International airport 7 kms, Train station 300 m. Totally refurbished in 2012! Rooms: spacious, modern and lighted, air conditioned and sound proved; marble bathrooms with hair dryer. Tea and coffee maker, satellite LCD TV and pay TV, ADSL Wifi, direct phone, electronic safety box, minibar, pillow list; Restaurant "Chez Panisse" and cocktail bar, gym center.
Good Stay except Poor Breakfast
Reviewed By BerlinG-ParisFWe stayed here for 1 night in 2017 and chose this hotel for our 3 nights before our cruise. The location was perfect. We took the Line B tram from the airport to the Jean-Medecin stop. The hotel is about 100m/y west of the underground stop. Our cruise left from the last stop, 3 stops east of here, so it was very convenient! We arrived early, before 11h. Due to my status, they found us a room in about 30 minutes. We had been upgraded to a high level king but got a high level with 2 twin beds. It worked out just fine as the beds were almost double (full) size. The room had a desk, some chairs, a closet with safe, but I don't remember any drawers. There was shelf space so not a big issue. The bathroom had a nice tub plus sink, toilet, and bidet. The provided bathroom amenities were above average as well. Our view was only of the neighborhood. We were facing south, but there are so many taller building that I don't know if it's possible to have a water view. The room more than met our requirements, and we were very comfortable. The beds were just the right firmness, and it was quiet even though we were just across from the elevator. They have swapped locations for the check-in and the restaurant. Now, the check-in is in a brightly lit area with some seating. The restaurant is in the darker part of the ground floor with a bar all the way around the corner through the restaurant. Despite the sub-par breakfast, I am giving an overall 4 because they allowed us an early check-in and a late check-out on our cruise day. Breakfast was awful. They had scrambled eggs, sausage links ruined by tomato sauce, mushrooms, things British eat in the morning but Americans don't (baked beans, for example) plus rice and the first morning but not the last 2, decent bacon. When I asked for bacon, I got a non-caring response! It was the best thing on the buffet! Most of the hot dishes, especially the eggs, were lukewarm at best, unless you arrived just after they were restocked, since there were no heating devices under the trays. There were many pastries, but they just didn't seem fresh as one would expect in France. Day old, perhaps? There were 2 coffee stations so that worked. Bottled water was provided, and I drank at least one bottle a day. I had included the price of breakfast in my reservation, so I am not sure how much breakfast was, if not booked in advance. It did not include eggs made to order, which were extra! If we were to return, I would include breakfast again, but I would hope for warmer hot food, fresher pastries, and better service. With the new IHG status tier, some will earn free breakfast at all locations. I would be curious to know if this is going to include omelet and eggs made to order for those of such status. They will probably still be an upcharge. It's time to rethink your breakfast operation!

It’s right near a tram stop Reception staff were extremely helpful and always available - thank you The hotel restaurant was well run and good selection of food. Very tasty and very good staff The rooftop is a nice feature although not clear about the jacuzzi The room cleaning was not the best. One day they didn’t come and the next day we got back at 4 having been out since 8.30 still with the green sign asking them to clean! We rang to ask and they just wanted to change towels!!! Overall a pleasant stay with great staff

Reviewed By MAP12As someone else has pointed out, make sure you're going to the right Ibis hotel in Nice, there are several of them. We originally went to one of the wrong ones and were directed to the right one. We arrived at night and somehow missed the right place completely even though we walked right by it). Check-in was uneventful - but they didn't mention any of the amenities except the breakfast. I would have loved to have known about the coffee in the lobby. Room was clean and small, but comfortable. Staff was friendly but not overly helpful. Location was great, but we really didn't know that until we had checked out. We stayed a night and were off again. Uneventful, average stay.

Fabulous hotel in an excellent location
Reviewed By Saschi101I visited during a very busy week with the Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festivals, so accommodation in Nice was hard to find. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a superior room with balcony at this delightful hotel. First, the staff. Quite simply, they are the friendliest I have ever encountered. From reception to cleaning staff, everyone had a smile and a friendly hello. The room was spacious and clean, with an extremely comfortable bed. Having stayed in some tiny rooms in Europe, this was a pleasant change. As it was unseasonably hot, good air-conditioning was a must and this hotel certainly didn't disappoint. Location wise, having a Monoprix across the road was very handy. It was also near several great restaurants and walking distance to the Old Town and beaches. Nice Ville Station is also a short walk. Breakfasts were good and the staff were happy to assist. Overall, a fabulous stay made perfect by the wonderful staff. They are a true asset to the establishment. I look forward to making a return visit.
