The highlight of my trip!
Reviewed By madelyn93From the warm welcome given to us when we arrived to the wonderful food served, Goyomon stood out as the highlight of our Japan trip. I came knowing exactly what we were getting into: the walls were thin, and we could hear our neighbour's snores. Our host barely knew Japanese. But again, this was all expected and what we were used to, so everything above and beyond was a good surprise! The village is absolutely lovely and quiet, perfect for an hour or two of exploration. I liked it much more than busy Shirakawago. Our meals were so satisfying and the tempura was probably the best I've ever had. Just be warned that the bus drops you off at the bus stop at the side of the road and from there, it was a steep 5-10 minute walk through what seemed to be the side of a cliff. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to navigate this path during winter when snow can reach inches deep.

Big hotel with great facilities
Reviewed By jjunnnLovely hotel with amazing facilities. Onsen available and it’s quite a nice and good size one. You can help yourself with the yukata placed along the corridors of the hotel with size ranges from S to L. Great wifi connection. Meals in the hotel is of high quality and tastes great. Service and cleanliness of the room and facilities is immaculate. Parking is available on site if you’re coming by car. The hotel is just a short drive from the nearby UNESCO sites.

Reviewed By さっちん船でしか行けないと言う事に強く惹かれ予約しました 最初は船代が高いなぁと思いましたが、 宿に着く頃にはそんな事はすっかり忘れ、素晴らしい景色に魅了されていました 部屋からの景色も素晴らしかった 温泉からの景色も本当に素晴らしかった 食事も美味しかった お湯も気持ちよかった いろいろな人にこの素晴らしい景色を堪能して欲しいです でも、携帯の電波が届いてなくちょっと困りました

Wonderful retreat

Was given an upgrade on arrival - my Japanese is poor but the staff went out of their way to guide and assist, with travel and the spa facilities. As a vegetarian there are some options for the evening meal , but breakfast !! WOW!! Fantastic great selection for most diets !! Starting with a traditional !! Delicious !! Great location for Shirakawa-go , etc Take your pick - chill out , full steam ahead or just allow yourself to be pampered.

Nice, clean, refreshing and inexpensive
Reviewed By DeluccaThe hotel is nice, clean and inexpensive. Some Japanese famous singers also stayed in this hotel before. The hotel is also just besides a small shopping mall and a supermarket. If you visit here by a car, it is also not far to go to the freeway. Nanto city is not very far from the famous world heritage Gassho village. Highly recommend here if you want to make a trip in Nanto area or want to have a stay before/after a visit to Gassho village.

Nice Onsen Hotel
Reviewed By aferretA very nice onsen hotel, which seems to have been renovated recently. The very clean rooms come with tatami mats but western beds. The public onsen are spacious, modern and clean. Once per stay a private onsen can be booked free of charge. We got a welcome drink on arrival and could select Yukatas (lounge wear) from various designs. Free ice cream, milk and later in the evening soft drinks and rice are at disposal. Note that there is minimal service otherwise, i.e. no bar (but vending machines) nor restaurant for a spontaneous meal. Various restaurants are 6-10 minutes away by car. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxed retreat.

素敵なご夫婦の宿
Reviewed By eggplane72019年8月に一泊お世話になりました。 山の中にあるゲストハウスで、館内はとても綺麗で快適でした。 施設、景色はもちろんのこと、なによりも オーナーご夫婦の飾らない、素敵な人柄が大変魅力的でした。 他のゲストの方も、みなさんフレンドリーで、 良い宿は良いお客さんを呼ぶんだと感じました。 山の中なので、交通の便であったり、食事処だったり、で 不便を感じる方もいるかもしれませんが、 そこをまた楽しんでほしい場所だと思います。 晩御飯にカレーを頂きましたが、これがまた絶品でしたので オススメです！！！ 次は３泊くらいでゆっくり過ごしたいなぁ。。。

Amazing little hotel
Reviewed By Jairo HThis is a charming little auberge wich takes only 3 customers (couples, families) a night, making it very personalized. The service is great, the food is delicious (using mostly local produce) and the rooms are very spacious with a nice jacuzzi bath.

(Good deal with meals...worth it) The meals provided were very good,home cook with love.The owners wife was seen busy preparing our meals.And while we enjoyed our dinner, went to lay our bedding for our sleep. We were served 7 items in one meal.Breakfast was also very good. The ryokan is rather old, but ok for a night. Bathroom downstairs. It has a bathtub filled with hot spring water. Its a mini onsan. Our room is japanese style, tatami style. There isn't much to see from the window. Room was warm and comfortable. We were given kimono to use. Toilets outside (common) clean and heated. The owner pick us from a tourist information nearby as it was raining.Check out was 10am. As we were waiting for the mid day bus, the owner kindly drove us to a largest Gassho house so we can visit and take shelter while waiting for the bus. He also show us Sugarnuma which is not far from their ryokan
