In 1708 three brothers from the noble Marchi family built a castle that protected the island and the surrounding area from invading Ottomans and harassing pirates. But, the real value of what the Marchi family brought to the island was their vision, science, art, and culture — the light, dawning from the European Enlightenment. Today, the Marchi Castle hosts the Martinis Marchi Heritage Hotel, which continues to reflect the enlightened thinking of the noble Marchi family. The hotel remains a bright place of light, as Šolta remains one of the most untouched places in Dalmatia, and is full of its own, beautiful surprises, such as the island’s hidden, completely private coves, the turquoise sea, and pristine nature. The island hangs in a harmonious balance of rich simplicity, light and enlightenment, progress and tradition. Reviewed By Y9432HBmattsFrom organising our visit during Covid, the staff were helpful and once we arrived we were so welcomed. All the staff were incredible throughout with service and helping organise things. Very good restaurant for lunch and dinner, the ambiance is really nice too. Our room at the top of the tower was amazing and so picturesque. The village is perfect for a chilled experience and some nice local eateries. We would love to stay again, thanks for an incredible few days.

House situated 50 metres from the sea with panorama view of the Adriatic sea. Totally renovated in 2011. Maslinica is a beautiful village - the best kept "secret" in the Adriatic.

Reviewed By PatrickNewton123Fantastic property, not even 5 mins away from the harbour. A special mention to Agneta who from the very start wanted to make sure we had a pleasurable stay and could find the property and she duly delivered. Easily reachable by phone and I really got the impression she done all she could and more to make the stay as good and welcoming as possible. On top of the impeccable service, you get an unrivalled view of the sea and a lovely furnished apartment. Without a doubt, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. Top marks all round!! ??

Reviewed By AliceInElysiumPROS • Great terrace overlooking the turquoise sea, surrounding islands and a beautiful yacht port • Lovely location very close to the beach and restaurants, yet set in a quiet and peaceful spot • Modern appliances • Big living space • Comfortable beds • Well-equipped kitchen • Good air-con • Good communication with the owner and the housekeeper • No problem with later check-out CONS • No housekeeping during our 9-night stay there • High price of the rental • Roof terrace sensor is too sensitive – a really soft breeze makes it fold

Reviewed By 448billebDiese Location bekommt volle Punktzahl. Das Appartment hat alles, was du brauchst für einen Urlaub, ist sehr schön eingerichtet und klimatisiert. Ein Balkon und großzügiger Ess- & Wohnbereich, gemütliches Bett und ein schönes Bad. Der Pool und alle Fotos sind genau so wie abgebildet oder sogar noch schöner. Die Lage excellent, 300m zum Meer und auch der Pool lädt zum verweilen ein. Die Vermieter super nett & immer hilfsbereit! Absolute Empfehlung.
