Reviewed By marianne fGreat new restaurant at the Chateau d’Origny! Food always was great as table d’hôte but now they stepped up immensely and you find yourself in a fine dining restaurant. Great tasty food with herbs from own garden, unexpected taste combinations - and everything served beautifully. Definitely worth a visit! Had the tasting menu and every single dish was pure indulgence - for the eye and for the taste buds. Cheers

Reviewed By ArdonGAlways a friendly helpful greeting on our arrival. No fuss to get to your room. Rooms are clean and basic, but meets the needs when you just need a bed and bathroom. Breakfast is great value for money too. Car park is right outside and there is a lift. Wheelchair access is good and in lift wheelchair plus a bag works. Recommend this property if you need somewhere to be when readying your boat after an absence. Not close to train station- 29min walk.

Reviewed By dg20222022Stayed a few days. Okay for the price. Extremely dirty stairs, no cleaning under bed (found old cigarettes from latest guests.. ) not enough toilet paper or soap available. Not all equipment work in room. Bed uncomfortable. Yet, affordable. Some of the staff is very kind (others are barely doing the job...) the cleaning staff is kind. No good sound insulation but okayish with relatively quiet neighbours.

Delightful setting
Reviewed By Crispin62We booked the night in the main house and our 20 yr old son in a tree house. After a very entertaining meal at La Place Verte we repaired to the tree house for an evening drink. By bed time we rather wished that we had booked the rooms the other way around, but no amount of bribing would budge our son. Having said that, the rooms in the main house are thoughtfully and beautifully designed. Breakfast was relaxed and of quality. The stay was a **** experience, plus the fun and adventure of the tree house, minus the pomposity of a grand hotel. Thank you Thierry et Marie. In the immortal words of Schwarzenegger...

Basic budget hotel, not as cheap as it should be
Reviewed By Thomas PThis hotel is very basic. The room supposedly slept 4 people but it was a squeeze for 4. The aircon did not work; it was very hot weather in late june so it was oppressively hot in the bedroom. The shower was small, the toilet seat was broken. The bed was ok, but overall this is a very basic budget hotel without the expected low rates. We paid extra for breakfast which was nice and good value, and filling. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Reviewed By petervacherGood service, friendly staff, great food. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the region for either business or pleasure. The outside setting is perfect with a small basic pool and many relaxing chairs with tables for dining. In addition the road network is great.

Reviewed By PimH22I don’t understand the high mark. The people are very nice. Really kind and friendly. But the room is not so good. It is old. There is much noice but not in the night. Like the walls are made of paper. It is cold in the room. The shower stops halfway, in the afternoon as well next morning. The bed is hard. So a 8.3? No, for me this is a 7. Because of the very nice people.

Convenient and Reasonably Priced
Reviewed By 188048MichaelWe needed an hotel for a one night stopover and decided on the Grand Hotel. It was clean and staff were friendly and the room was large and met our needs at a reasonable price. We had a room at the back of the hotel and despite the hotel being directly on the main road and in front of the railway station we had a quiet night's sleep. The hotel has a locked and secure car park. It doesn't have its own restaurant, but there are plenty of reasonable places to eat within short walking distance and their breakfast was fine.

It states free wifi but you have to return to reception for a voucher which I think should be explained when checking in. Also it is only up until midnight??We had the dish of the day in the restaurant and both had the steak. I could not eat it, it was raw, chewy the cheapest cut of meat imaginable along with potato gratin which was not fresh probably a couple of days old. The salad for starter however was nice so did not starve! The breakfast was very good value for money with great choice.The staff were all friendly. I have always looked for Ibis hotels when travelling but will now try others in the future.
