Delightful hotel
Reviewed By Greebo1Third visit to this hotel, and hope to go back again. At the back of the hotel is a beautiful garden, with well tended flowers and also several water features. Our room gave directly on to the garden, and we had our own small terrace. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The building, built in stone, respects the typical buildings of the area to meet in a town considered historical and artistic. At the entrance we have a sill, which are the beams that intersect with the beams to form the frame of the ceilings, typical of our mountain area, and type of construction which gives the hotel its name. We offer you our 12 rooms, fully equipped and organized in the three plants that make up the hotel, a room on the ground floor, five rooms on the first floor and six bedrooms on the second. We want to choose among all our rooms the one that best suits your needs in terms of space, beds and price. The terrace on the top floor of the hotel, has spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. From here you can see among other places the Veleta Peak, the third highest in the Iberian Peninsula or the beautiful Poqueira Gorge. It is the ideal place to sit and admire the majesty of these mountains, to relax listening to the sounds of nature, read a book or to enjoy a pleasant and relaxed chat. Our indoor lounge, also located on the top floor of the hotel, has sofas, tables and a fireplace. It is a bright living room with windows from which you can also admire the mountains and is a space designed to rest on the coldest days in which time does not allow out to enjoy our terrace.

The place was spotless and the upstairs outdoor area was very well appointed with great views all around. The mini kitchen and dining area we're very welcoming and easy to use.

This resort is located in the Alpujarra, Busquistar (Granada). 4km away from Trevelez, the highest spanish village. Natural area and incredible landscape, you can enjoy sports rooms, inside swimming pool, meeting rooms, restaurants and a cozy bar, among other areas, and you can taste our delicious tapas and typical and traditional dishes. Most importantly quite and peaceful at night. Service was good and breakfast pretty reasonable. Great location at top of village with great views of surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains.

Best Location for a peaceful getaway

Fabulous caring staff, having a handicap husband I do not worry of leaving home to enjoy this hotel. The handicap room (20) fits our needs and easy access to all public areas. I would only change one thing and instead of love seat put a sofa in there as it would be more comfortable for the non handicap person and an alternative sitting rather then the bed for the handicap person. Wifi does not work in the room but just outside the back patio, or pool or terrace of the hotel. Having a space for handicap car is also extremely helpful.

Comfort in a Small Town
Reviewed By ndserWe stayed for 1-night at Hotel La Frangua II in Trevelez (€75). While located at the top of a small Spanish village, the hotel was not that difficult to find. The first trick was to ignore the GPS – it led us into tiny, very steep dead-end lanes. Simply drive up the main road (it is an easy 2-lane) to the T-intersection at the very top. The left leads to a bridge across the river and on to Pampaneira. The right leads immediately to a small plaza – there is a small sign at the end saying the hotel is a further 150 m. We parked and walked to find the hotel's exact location, then came back to drive the car through the final narrow lanes – no problem. The hotel is a long 2-floor building with all of the rooms facing the valley. Ours, although dated, was large & comfortable, with a 2-single beds pushed together, side tables, a small desk & chair, 2 upholstered chairs & small table with coffee supplies, an odd looking couch that could serve as an extra bed, tiny TV, large closet, but no mini-refrigerator or safe. The bathroom was large, with a small vanity, and a bathtub/shower. There was a large deck facing the valley, with a couple of chairs and table, a nice spot for an afternoon drink. I didn't see any heat controls, but there was radiant heating from the floors that kept the room cozy during our rather chilly visit. The hotel had a nice pool overlooking the valley, unfortunately closed in the cool weather. La Frangua offered a good breakfast and also owned a restaurant just down the street that served an excellent, reasonably priced selection of local delicacies. We didn't see much of the town – places were mostly closed this early in the season – but it struck me as a pleasant one to explore. In summary, a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel in a pleasant small town if traveling the mountain route between Granada and Nerja and looking for something a bit different.

Breakfast was good with friendly and helpful staff. Central location and a fantastic village with great waking on the doorstep.

Faded elegance oozing with charm and goodwill

The hotel is a modest but very comfortable hotel with lovely staff, a good restaurant and central location. I arrived after a challenging drive and went immediately to the restaurant for a much needed lunch - which exceeded expectations. My room was a generous size, the bed and chairs supremely comfortable ... an excellent shower and a welcome little balcony. Fantastic.

Exceptional hospitality and authentic hotel experience
Reviewed By ponchorealHighly recommend staying here for value of money, cleanliness and location. The staff here are really really nice and so accommodating. The restaurant serves exceptional food catering traditional and genuine vegetarian food which can be a challenge in rural Spain. Even if not staying here it is a must place to eat with great local authentic atmosphere infused with non native locals and tourists. Our waitress provided excellent hospitality and had the pleasure of dining there twice and being treated so well. All the staff were so nice and friendly. The hotel itself were so accommodating, the fact that we arrived so early on our second visit @11:20 am they let us check in. This made such a difference as we had just accented the mountains and in need of shower and rest. We were delighted with our stay and I would return again if only for the delicious cod dish!!! Thanks for a great stay!!!

As a centre for hiking in the hills it provided a good departure point and a haven to return to. The food was such that this could have been called a gourmet trip rather than a hiking trip. Service and accomodation were both first class. I can also wholeheartedly recommend IbexTrex who organised the experience.
