Very quiet & convenient location
Reviewed By HendersongalMy family stayed at the HIE Lantana during the second part of a Florida trip to visit family. We knew we weren't going to be at the hotel much so we went with a budget option and weren't too concerned with amenities. Check-in was very easy and quick. In fact, the lady at the desk was in such a rush to get us into our room that she forgot to have us sign something and came to our room later to have us sign it. The location is convenient - right off the freeway, but not too close to get the noise. Plus, this area never seemed congested with traffic, which is a nice change of pace in S. Florida. Also, not too far from FLL airport and other areas of interest. We stayed in room 227, which was a little close to the elevator, but honestly we didn't hear any noise. It was very quiet. I don't think there were many guests in the hotel as the parking lot and breakfast area were pretty empty during our entire visit. The room was pretty standard for a HI Express so no real complaints. It was clean and the housekeeping was done as scheduled, which is nice these days since as it seems hit and miss at a lot of hotels. The bed wasn't quite firm enough for our liking, but that is a matter of personal preference. My only real complaint about the room was the AC. If we put it on, we froze, and it seemed like no matter what we did, the temp really didn't change. My husband loves to be cold when sleeping and even he was freezing. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Didn't do a full breakfast during our stay, but it looked like what they had was on par with other HIE locations. Overall a comfortable stay.

Not what it used to be
Reviewed By X6468GBmarydIt appears this hotel has changed hands since I was there a few years ago. It looks old, paint chipping, furniture torn and chipped. They only have housekeeping 4 days a week because of "covid". There are signs everywhere you must wear a mask but no one does. It prides itself as a smoke-free hotel but the weed smoke fills every one of its 3 floors all day and all night to the point of not being able to get away from it. Breakfast time brings in the homeless to do their days shopping but no one did anything but tell them they shouldn't do that. It's a shame because it's near alot of fun places but it certainly is not worth the price.
