A fantastically friendly hotel!

Reviewed By DavidoSonjay

I stayed at the Hotel Santa Anna for three nights while visiting family in the area. The hotel could not have been more friendly and welcoming and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My room was great - quiet and with everything I needed including good aircon. The lady on Reception was really helpful when I was enquiring about hiring a bike and whether the hotel could store it overnight (which they could), and the roof terrace was a lovely place to relax st the end of each day, with fantastic service from the guy looking after the bar. I won’t hesitate to book here next time I visit L’Estartit.

Great for a diving holiday

Reviewed By MrRwFr

If diving is one of your main reasons for going to Estartit, then the Panaroma should be your choice The El Rei Del Mar diving club is directly annexed to the hotel and this in turn makes your diving vacation extremely pleasant.. I can't say enough good things about El Rei Del Mar... They are a great team with great facilities. Concerning the hotel, it is very clean, everywhere... From the rooms, to the Jacuzzi/Sauna to the restaurant and the bar.. 5 stars for this . We had a fifth floor room overlooking the sea, which I would recommend.. The rooms are not small but not very large either ... My only regret would be the extra bed in the room which we didn't need and if it had been removed would have made the stay much more comfortable.. For the 2 other single beds it's possible to ask for a double mattress so don't hesitate... Not perfect but not too bad either.. The furniture was getting long in the tooth and it was obvious that the salty sea air had had an effect on the wooden furniture... I am removing a start for this , for a 4 star the furniture needs replacing.. The bathroom was large , clean and comfortable.. The little unstocked fridge was a welcome item, there is a small supermarket nearby so it's easy to have a couple of drinks at normla prices in the fridge.. You have to pay for the safe.... ggggggrrrrrr . Personally I feel that this is a little too much.. You have to pay for parking and it can get busy to be careful there... I would not recommend parking on the beach. The restaurant is run by a vey special lady... She will be retiring soon which is a shame because if you take the time to get to know her she is a wonderful character.. Don't let her apparent sternness fool you, she is actually a very warm, and funny character. We used the Jacuzzi a lot, nice way to wind down after a couple of dives... You have to pay but it then becomes private and it is cheap... It's not the most beautiful hotel or very luxurious but for the price it is excellent. We will be going back ...

Excellent attention, good environment

Reviewed By Hans J

Very good weekend at Nereida. Great staff attention from reception to bar or pool. Special care with families with children, always highly appreciated! Covid measures all over around, feeling clean and safe. We had breakfast and lunch and very good value for money. 5 minutes walk to beach and 15 minutes to port. Easy to park car. Room clean and updated, as all hotel. Not luxury but more than enough to stay like in home. Will repeat for sure, thanks a lot!

Good enough

Reviewed By Matteo S

I spent one night in this hotel. The furnitures and the overall style was a bit aged but everything was nice and clean. Something I didn't like was the fact that the walls were thin and we could hear the people in the other room chatting, in the evening there was a lot of noise due to the other guests. Another problem was the bathroom, it had a window that faced our neighbours' bathroom and it was a little embarassing. At the end of the day we enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff was kind and professional. The breakfast was a buffet and it was tasty.

Hostal Santa Clara

I AM NOT GONNA BE BACK AT SANTA CLARA'S HOTEL

Reviewed By annaportas

I leave with a lot of sadness and displeasure because one person of the team has shouted at me. The fact that I wanted to collaborate to help them when I saw them that busy, made Maitre's mind think that I wanted to steal, and he automatically treated me with screams, made me cry, and shouted at me in front of everyone, "Get out of my sight!" he said me infront of everybody when I told him speaking in a respectful tone (without raising my voice), that he owed me an apology. He lost the manners becoming very rude to me and non polite, and that's a really bad behaviour. I don't let my Dad shout to me. So can imagine a Hotel Maitre? = Horrible..., unsopportable. The owner, Clara, and most of the team are excellent people who have never spoken to me and / or treated me out loud. What I also found very bad is that I was charged the night I could not sleep because of them: Not having included the key to the front door of the building in my keychain of the tiny staff room 108. While Albert, who corresponds to the uncivilized Maitre who does not know how to control his genius working at the Hostal, does not realize what he has done and apologizes to me personally, they have just lost a noble and honest client. Also wish my money back from the night I was not able to get in the Hotel and had to be on the street feeling asleep until 6:30 a.m. I always go where I am treated well, I have confidence in it and I am not made to feel like a “thief” by Paranoia. A completely unfair, disproportionate and out of place treatment.

Sweet little town hotel.

Reviewed By Mary S

We stayed here for 8 nights in September 2016. I submitted a review when we got home but it seems to have vanished. The Hostal Can Dalfo is a lovely little family run business. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the harbour with fantastic views of The Medes Islands, a small and craggy group of seven islets about a mile off shore. Our room was small but perfectly adequate, the bed was huge and very comfortable. two small wardrobes, one on each side of the bed, were enough for us but some folk may prefer more storage space, we just left folded clothing in our suitcases and pushed them under the bed. The bathroom had a washbasin, toilet and shower, no bath, which I would have preferred but there was a bath in a bathroom along the corridor on our floor which I could have used had I wanted. We had a small problem with the shower head the first day as it was split and water just spurted in all directions, flooding the bathroom floor. We mentioned it to the owner at breakfast and it been replaced with a new one by lunch time, how good is that! With regards to the room overall, it was spotlessly clean, cleaned daily and clean linen and towels every day if we wanted it. Air conditioning is free and very efficient and operated by remote control, such luxury, it was very hot when we were there every day was 30 plus so the air-con was a real treat. My only criticism of the room is there was only one power point and that was right above the bed which could have made things like tea-making and hair-drying very difficult. Tip, take a 4 gang socket on a long lead and one travel adapter. We always take our own travel kettle, coffee tea bags etc. there is no tea-making facilities provided by the hotel. Breakfasts were very good, beautiful fresh, still warm croissants (if you went down early) cheese, ham, fruit and you can make as much toast as you want, there was always plenty of butter and jams available. Lily will cook you a fried egg for your toast if you ask nicely too! Lots of freshly made tea and very good coffee and fruit juice also available in plenty! We had one evening meal in the hotel for my husband's birthday, it was really excellent, and the staff made a big fuss of him. The fish menu is excellent and the fish was beautifully fresh. We would have eaten there more but we do like to explore, and there is a wealth of restaurants within walking distance of the Dalfo. The hotel is situated right on the sea front, rooms at the front get the sea view whilst the rooms at the back overlook a sweet little pedestrianised back street shopping road, lots of small businesses, eating places, bars, gift shops etc, we had a stroll along there most evenings. The views at the front of the hotel are quite spectacular so if you are booking ask for a sea view, it is very pleasant sitting on the balcony looking over the main street watching the locals go about their business and see the working harbour and marina. This is a great little hotel for a budget holiday, the family are lovely and the service is good. I am looking forward to going back.

Poor sleep. Too noisy.

Reviewed By maxgP2562PT

The room always smelled of food (onion, shrimp, etc.) that had to be strained through the extractor hood or air conditioning. The refrigerator made a horrible noise that did not let us sleep. In the bathroom the taps and hangers were super rusty, even leaving the towel was disgusting. And the room was very noisy, you could hear the rooms on both sides and the one above. The building is very run down from the outside.
