Cute boutique hotel, ideally located, a quick walk to the temp,e of the tooth relic, the lake, the shopping mall and downtown Kandy. The decor is lovely, modern, rooms decorated tastefully with all the amenities you could need in your room. We were lucky enough to have a room with a small balcony that looked out over the hustle and bustle of the streets. Note that due to the proximity of this hotel to the temple they do not serve alcohol nor do they permit you to bring alcohol on to the premises. Room was clean, friendly and helpful staff who helped us with local dinner locations and grabbing a tuk tuk for us. Breakfast was simple and basic but all you needed to start the day. Would highly recommend this quaint little gem in the middle of Kandy.

The fantastic Earls Regent Hotel in Kandy is well managed. As you reach the hotel you are met by pleasant and helpful staff at the reception who are polite and efficient. The hotel has a beautiful ambience, fragrance with fresh flowers and a comfortable atmosphere. It's easy to discuss all your needs with any staff member as they all are very knowledgeable. There is a pool and a gym. The dinning area is very clean and well maintained, the breakfast is buffet or menu and is delicious. In my view Regent is a hotel with 5 star service.

Mostly very good

Reviewed By MrsLML2022

Good : Beautiful hotel. Very well designed - the rooms, facilities, pool and dining areas are in great locations. The whole complex is clean and very well maintained. Our food was mostly very good. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. The hotel is up a very steep hill so you do need a driver to take you anywhere. Not so good : They need a good welcome introduction to introduce themselves and give details about the hotel. We were very disappointed to have staff go through our bin and then charge us for wine that we had bought. The hotel does not have a liquor license so cannot offer a alcohol menu. On our first night, we asked for some wine and were charged around £17 per bottle. The following day, we took our own and the staff went through our bins and charged us for what we had bought. We didn’t feel this was acceptable at all. Overall, it is a very good hotel. If they can offer a welcome introduction and also change their alcohol situation then it would be much better.

Nice stay, good value

We stayed one night at the Radison early May, which had just been taken over from Ozo. Due to this, there was some construction going on, but we were not in any way bothered by noise or else. Rooms were nice, staff were friendly, food at breakfast and dinner were good and the rooftop pool excellent for actual swimming. We got to enjoy it like a private pool/bar area due to the limited number of guests coming to Sri Lanka while we were there related to Covid, and local and international turmoil. The hotel is a 3 minutes walk from the lake.

Enchanting hosts and lovely stay

Our hosts Mr. Pathi and his wife, the lady of the house Suba, were an amazing couple, they made us feel like family. The food we had in Sri Lanka, Mrs. Suba is an excellent cook, that even gave me cooking classes, which meant a lot to me. Hantana House is nestled on a hill away from the noise of the busy centre, surrounded by nature it was serene. Clean rooms and great hospitality, we would totally recommend staying here on your visit to Kandy. Mr. Pathi, has been in the tourism industry for over 25 years, and the stories and advice for our trip was valuable. We are truly looking forward to coming back, as they started our Milk and Honey addiction too ?

Originally we booked into The Queens Hotel but due to the power cuts we were upgraded to Hotel Suisse which did not have power cuts due to its location and we are so glad that we did. What a fabulous hotel such a great location opposite the lake and so much quieter that the Queens. The staff were amazing especially the front of house manager Aruni who was beyond brilliant! I would highly recommend this hotel if you want piece and quiet and a good location to the town centre.
