My husband and I stayed here for one night with our little wiener dog while passing through on a road trip. We checked in at 9PM and we’re out by 9AM the next morning. The beds were SO COMFY! Exactly what we wanted after driving all day. Breakfast was perfect - just what I was expecting for a free hotel breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Perfect stay!

Key machine didn't function on day 1. Every time I left the room, I had to stop at the front desk to request an escort to my room; along with any other guests who went out or those checking in. I got a card key on the evening of the third day. It worked, but it didn't work on the evening of the fourth day, so back to the front desk.

Kinda gross…..

We (my husband, five year old, 16 month old, and myself) were in town to watch my cousin pitch for Webster University’s baseball team. We booked a room at the Hampton Inn because the pool at the Sheraton where our other family members were staying was under maintenance, and no pool is a deal breaker with our five year old daughter. lol When we booked, I indicated that we would need a pack- and-play or a crib for our sixteen month old daughter. When we arrived, we were told there was no crib or pack-and-play available. Our king room had a pull-out sofa bed, but I was afraid my baby would roll off of it. So she had to sleep between my husband and I. Not a very comfortable, restful two nights for any of us. I pulled out the sofa sleeper the first night for my other daughter to find dirty linens with curly black hairs, a dirty sock, and what looked like crumbled up Doritos. My husband found a huge hair ball in the corner when he went to plug in his sleep machine/c-pap. We found a Snickers wrapper on the floor in the closet. And finally, what appeared to be a dried up alcohol swab with dried blood on it. The front desk associate was very kind, and brought us clean linen for the sofa sleeper saying, “I’ll take care of that for you.” Not sure what that meant. I pulled the dirty linens off, and wasn’t sure what to do with them, so I just threw them under the desk. On top of a very restless two nights of sleep, I woke up in the middle of the night with some kind of “bite” on my neck. The pool was ice cold, like, unbearably ice cold. Even for my five year old daughter. Not only was it cold, but there is peeling paint, cracked tiles where little feet could be cut, and areas in the actual pool itself that are rusty. The best part? My daughter was thrilled she got to put chocolate chips, M&Ms, and crushed Oreo cookies on her waffle in the morning. Yay for small victories. Overall, for a Hampton, it was a very disappointing stay. Definitely needs attention when it comes to cleanliness, and upkeep.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

The room I stayed in was absolutely disgusting. I had to request maid service upon arrival to have the bedding changed because both beds had dirt and hair in the sheets. There was food all over the floor from previous guests; a half a dorito in front of the microwave and crumbs everywhere on the floor that were not cleaned by housekeeping. The bathroom had not been cleaned; the floor was gross, previous guest hair was in the sink and the tub, there was what appeared to be toothpaste/spit on the sink faucet, the tub had pink mildew around the fixtures, and there was no toilet paper to be found-I had to ask for toilet paper. The room also smelled very musty and there were stains on the walls from where previous guests had smeared who knows what that wasn't cleaned. The housekeeper who changed my sheets kept apologizing for the room's condition but she only changed the sheets and my room was never cleaned. And the pool was green. I really should have taken pictures for a review but I'm kind of glad I didn't because I would like to forget every single detail of my experience. I will never ever stay at this location again.

Do not book here.

Don’t bother even making a reservation here. We booked because it was my daughter birthday and we wanted to go to the zoo and visit the area and see the mall. We made the reservation a week in advance and got a call at 330pm that they had canceled our reservation because they oversold our room. Then the girl said they didn’t have enough housekeeping to clean it and then said it was a maintenance issues. Whatever the actual problem was I’m not sure but we drove 3 hours to be out a room and no place to stay. She was very unprofessional. The entire situation could of been avoided with proper staff and management. I am a front desk supervisor at a hotel myself and this is absolutely ridiculous to call a guest and cancel a room on them.

Great stay and outstanding service!

The moment I walked through the door, Chad greeted me and was ready to take care of me. It’s becoming rare these days to get this level of service. He even brought me a drink to take up to my room! I decided to stop in at their bar and continued to be impressed with the attention and care Chad and Mona gave me. The room was exceptional and breakfast the next morning was great! Looking forward to returning on my travels.

I stayed here because of the price. I wasn't expecting much and you don't get much. The pillows on the bed were very small. The mattress was worn, but okay. I don't know, maybe cough up the extra $30 next time stay somewhere nicer might be a good idea?

Filthy, filthy, filthy, broken down, unfixable, understaffed

I realize there are not many options in the area, but STAY AWAY. Drive the 30 minutes from STL. It is SO DIRTY, SO GROSS, SO RUNDOWN, SO UNFIXED, and SO UNDERSTAFFED. Want to wait 30 minutes to check in? This is your hotel. Want your key to stop working after one day? This is your hotel. Want sequins and hair in your bed on the floor? This is your hotel. My bathroom had orangey-brown finger-stains on the bathroom door, what looked like curry-splatter on the textured wallpaper, the bathroom towel rack was hanging off the wall by a thread, no tissue, half a TP roll, no body wash in the shower dispenser, and while I was out working a leg on the dresser broke and the dresser fell against the wall. I told the front desk and they were like "yeah, ok." And I had to remind him that he didn't even know what room. My colleague had a non-working remote, after they checked 5 other rooms - none had remotes. And the hotel had no batteries for her remote anyway. Others had no A/C on a 90 degree day. By phone, the front desk people were horrendously rude and unhelpful. In person, somewhat more pleasant but slow as molasses. The public bathrooms for two days didn't have paper towels. The "store" in the front was barren... they took 10 minutes to locate water bottles for me. It was just an awful experience and NOT MARRIOTT QUALITY. This hotel needs to be demoted from the Marriott brand. It does not pass
