Anniversary Vacation!

Reviewed By Cruzons2

We couldn't have asked for a better place than On the Beach! The room was gorgeous and large. The jetted tub is so luxurious. As it was our anniversary, they offered a bottle of champagne or Martinelli's (we opted for the cider) and also left chocolates for us. The included breakfast was delicious every day, and the cookies left on our door each night was so good! The beach is steps away, as are restaurants and shops. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay at OTB again - they truly go above and beyond!

Balcony, Pacific Vista... and Relax

Reviewed By BritinSoCal

So we're not the most picky of travellers, but even if we were I think we'd struggle to fault any aspect of our stay. Check-in was a breeze and our room was exactly what it said on the tin - newly refurbished and updated, and with a panoramic view of the Pacific to die for - and just as importantly, comfortable chairs on which to sit while taking it all in (that and a fridge big enough to store all those essentials of life - which generally come in 6-packs and are best served chilled). Some may argue that the rate doesn't include breakfast - but frankly you'd pay anywhere from $100 - $150+ for a comparable ocean view anywhere else on the Central Coast. We just pre-prepared breakfast and following a trip to the nearby supermarket a carton of our favourite plant-based milk was nestling in that fridge - breakfast with a view was sorted! Think it is safe to say that we'll be back...

Cayucos Sunset Inn Bed & Breakfast

The Cayucos Sunset Inn is a welcoming, open building trimmed with beautiful flowers and hedges. We have a shaded patio in front for the guests to relax in. The patio opens to our quaint dinning area where we serve a free breakfast and hold a complementary wine and cheese hour. Our nine rooms vary in size. Five are located upstairs with ocean views and private balconies. The rooms open to a living room area with a television, electric fire place, and couch in the front. Through the small hall, the bedrooms have luxurious king size beds, additional electric fire places, and small refrigerators along with RO clean drinking water. Each of these five rooms have jacuzzi tubs and rain shower heads. We have a smaller downstairs room we offer as well. They have the same amenities just on shop level. We are located in a small throwback beach town. Our building is about a block from the beach and walking distance to every shop and restaurant in Cayucos! Come relax!

2nd Visit to Sunset Inn--Sunset Room

Reviewed By 258MarkM

Well, this is going to be our second visit to Sunset Inn for our anniversary (tomorrow). I'm so late in writing this review. I thought that I had last year, but must have been sidetracked. Our first visit was nothing short of AMAZING. We had stayed previously at another B&B in Cayucos but they were not keeping it up. We walked by the Sunset Inn and made a reservation. So glad we did. I'll attach pictures that will back up everything I'm saying. This place is like a home away from home. We only live 45 minutes away on the Central Coast and we prefer to take our "staycations" at different towns on the Central Coast. Each town is completely different and low-key. We are well aware of the accommodations on the Central Coast and this is one of our favorites. The daughter of the husband/wife that built this place in the early 2000's is now running it. She and her staff do an awesome job. I can't remember her name but she was fixing our breakfast the whole time we were there. OMG...just look at the pics. I'm so looking forward to three more breakfasts at Sunset Inn. This B&B is well-kept. It's definitely worth it. If you're looking for a NICE place to relax and just take in the atmosphere, this is it.

Avoid Beachwalker Inn!!

Reviewed By rjcmrn

We met friends for dinner in Cayucos on our way back to Portland and decided to splurge on an overnight in town (over $300/night)…..really wish we had read all the reviews before making the reservation. Just about everything wrong with this place listed in reviews from prior years is still here as well as a new one for the list. The walls are so thin you can easily hear people in the next room….the kitchen had clearly had not been cleaned….floors had not been vacuumed or swept….there were what looked like urine spots on the floor around the toilet. We were both so tired we figured we’d chalk it up to a bad decision and just get some sleep and leave early in the morning….however, the sheets on the bed were wet!! We call down to the front desk and have to go down there to get dry sheets…no apology….just hands me the new sheets, turns his back and walks away. We remake the bed and try to get some sleep while listening to the guy coughing in the next room. Clearly this place’s owners/management do not give a damn and will continue to ignore the problems as long as people continue to stay there. Based upon the prior reviews these problems have been around for years. Don’t make the same mistake we did….avoid this place!!

Pleasantly surprised

Reviewed By Tedebt

It was a nice surprise and I wouldn't have minded staying longer. Liked · We had room #11 which had a King bed and was right at the entrance to the establishment (didn't hear any road noise). Now I don't know if all the rooms are the same size or maybe just the two rooms on either side of the entrance (shape of building made those two rooms look like they might have been bigger), but it was very roomy. It had a small couch as well as a small round dining room table with two chairs. It had the usual fridge, microwave, coffee maker (liked that it was a small 4 cup pot instead of making one cup at a time), and tv. Loved that it was a large walk in shower (now as I'm getting older that makes it so much easier for me to get in and out of). Water pressure was good though I noticed it started to run out of Hot water, I never actually ran out but it was turning into warm not Hot, so you might want to take a shower at a time not everyone else in the motel is or take a fast one just incase. Though to be honest I wasn't paying attention to how long I was in the shower (I had taken a walk around town and trip and fell and banged myself up pretty good so I was taking a long shower to help with the aches before going to bed). Oh, they also had a couple of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower cap, and lotion. Bed and pillows where comfortable. The lady at the front desk was very nice (I had gone to ask for couple of pkgs. of decaf. coffee and her husband had to find where he had stored the box so she asked if I could give them 30 minutes). I told her no rush I would come back later since we where going to go and get something to eat (at Martin's... great food Mexican, American, and in the evening they also make Italian and they do all of it well... we have eaten there every time we are in town... 2 buildings up from the motel). When we got back I decided to go and see about the coffee but the lady had kept an eye out for me and brought it to our room just as I opened the door to go to see her ^_^. Should probably mention for anyone who is staying longer (ours stay was just one day) and brings a lot of clothes with them there isn't a closet, just a small area that has a wooden rack on the wall for you to hang clothes on. Disliked · Only thing that bothered me was I had the heater/air conditioner fan set on low but even then it was very loud every time it kicked on, but it worked so it wasn't a deal breaker. No carpeting in the room which I can understand (makes it easier to clean what with people possible tracking in sand from the beach), but it did make me aware how cold a floor can get in the morning if you decided to go barefoot in the room, lol. Oh, we did ended up having to park in the street because the parking spots where narrow and short (we have a 4 door Toyota Tacoma) and we didn't want to block anyone. We could see the truck from our room and there is no restriction on length of time it can be parked on the street (they really don't have heavy traffic going through town except maybe during certain holidays).
