Rip-off hotel with a lousy and expemsive restaurant, pour bedding but a fantastic location

The young personnel was also very friendly and the rooms newly refurbished and very nice. However …. Very rude service by an elderly lady in the reception 5 sek after arrival. Extremely slow and only partially working internet. The sheets were curly and yellow stained! Maybe other guests had slept in our bed without it being made afterwards? The neighbour could (and did) watch directly into our bed room from her terrace. The restaurant: Extremely expensive dinner of very mediocre quality (80 Euro for a thre dish menu you could get at a street bistro for 18 Eur). Very poor wine list. Only one type of red, white and rose by the glass from the same producer. Other customers were obviously also not satisfied with the food. The only plus was the marvelleous sea view. The breakfast is included: We asked it to be served in our room which was charged with 26 Eur extra - per person! Eur. Two cups of poured cold coffee. Dry bread. The eggs we completely fluid and hardly boiled at all. The absolutely ony benefit was the marvelleous view from our terrace. All in all is NOT AT ALL worthy of a four star hotel. So: Our recommendation to all of you is to stay away!

Lovely location, lovely meal, lovely staff

The staff were as always attentive, courteous and efficient with big smlles and the food was good. It is evenly priced for the region and we keep returning which demonstrates it is worth a visit.

Excellent séjour à Cavalaire-sur-Mer
Reviewed By popol2121Nous avons louer un appart'hôtel à la Résidence Rivazur (à deux pas de l'hôtel) avec balcon avec vue la mer. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et ne pouvons que recommander ce lieu. L'accueil est excellent, le personnel aux petits soins. Avant de partir, l'hôte nous a aimablement averti qu'il y aurait des travaux (et donc du bruit) à côté de l'hôtel. Il nous a donné la possibilité de décalé notre séjour. Ce qui est tout à son honneur, tous les hôtels ne se donneraient pas cette peine... Nous avons toutefois garder le date de séjour. Le bruit était largement supportable. Petit déjeuner sur le balcon, les pieds dans l'eau, le bruit de la mer. Ces vacances étaient mémorables. L'hôtel est très bien situé, proche du centre, accessible à pied, mais suffisamment loin pour ne pas en subir les inconvénients. Possibilité de prendre le petit déjeuner à l'hôtel, mais aussi boulangerie et petite épicerie à deux pas. Restaurants à proximité, notamment un excellent restaurant italien au bout de la rue... Le cadre était idéal... Résidence propre, pas de problèmes majeurs, chambres décorées avec goût, literie propre, salle de bain propre, carrelage imitation bois au sol, très joli, hygiénique et facile d'entretien. Toutefois, la télécommande de la télévision pourrait être nettoyée entre chaque client, elle était poussiéreuse... Nous espérons que la résidence sera bien entretenue. En effet, nous avons remarqué quelques défauts de finitions (peinture qui commence à se décoller, prises électriques un peu branlantes). Ces petits défauts ne posent pas de problèmes si les chambres sont entretenues. Mais si trop de laisser-aller, ça peut vite dégénérer. Nous y sommes allé au printemps et la région était calme, ce que nous recherchions. Sur la plage, des bars de plages étaient en train de se construire. J'imagine qu'en été, ça doit être plus animé ! En résumé, quelques défauts mineurs pour nuancer les éloges... Mais résidence que nous recommandons sans hésiter !

Three days in a charming family hotel
Reviewed By Ted FI spent three days with my wife in this really charming family hotel in Cavalaire sur Mer. It’s such a delight to get away from the big, impersonal hotels where you are just another room number. Here, customer service is omnipresent and you are made to feel at home from the moment you arrive. Everything about the hotel is perfect. It’s so quiet and peaceful that you can hardly believe that you are only a stone’s throw away from the busy port area of this lovely Mediterranean seaside town. The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. The hotel owners are amazingly friendly and cannot do enough to help you. Breakfast in the garden is a moment of pure pleasure that you just have to experience. The home-made jams are delicious and the owners are always around to take care of you and to make sure that you have everything you need. The peaceful, flowery garden in the shade of the trees is the perfect setting for this hugely enjoyable moment. Try this hotel, you will not be disappointed!!

Reviewed By AT6TexanThe room had a strange smell, the paint on the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling off, the toilet leaked when you flushed it, the panel was falling off, the floor tiles were cracked and I looked like black mould under the bath panel The room was a fair size, however the bed was hard and uncomfortable There is no dining or bar facilities, no tea facilities in your room, breakfast if required us in your room, which with the horrid aromor I didnt relish the prospect The lift could only fit 2 people in it comfortably with cases The hotel is located on the roundabout the room had an outlook over the roundabout There is limited parking

The rooms are personally furnished in walnut or oak and have a direct phone line and internet access. Here free and private parking places will be at your disposition. Thus, you will be welcome to have delightful breakfasts in front of the Mediterranean garden in which pines, eucalyptus, and oleanders .
Old, creaky, no privacy
Reviewed By J JDecor and furnishings can best be described as "grandma from the 70's". Bathroom is so small that your knees touch the wall when sitting in toilet. Barely enough room for one person to stand in shower. Lumpy pillows. Bad lighting. No mirror in the room (just a small one in the bathroom). No shower caps or other common amenities like that. No air conditioning, so everyone leaves their patio doors wide open at night.. which means you hear every whispered word and squeaky bed. Not great for couples. There is a scary sign saying that break-ins have been reported, so do not leave doors and windows open or unlocked (!) Kind of impossible to do in this heat. They offer breakfast on the outdoor patio the rooms open onto, so I called when we were ready. But instead of just setting up the breakfast outside, they opened our room door with barely a knock, barged right in, and started bringing everything in through the room. Fortunately one of us was able to quickly dash into the bathroom, as we had not yet finished dressing. The front desk closes at 9pm (!) so to get back into the building after that time, you need a code. There is construction happening nearby, so you have that lovely sound to wake up to. Basically, anywhere else this would be considered a cheap $50/night roadside motel for a quick shut-eye. But because it's on the French Riviera, they can command over $110/night plus $9 breakfast. I will say the room was clean. But that's about the only positive.

Reviewed By alitav123Having stayed here several times in the past, over 40 years. It is very basic, no frills, no extras, but adequate. The location is the best thing, opposite the beach, and off road parking is useful. No lift, but quite good views from some rooms, some sound proofing which is needed on the busy road, and worth the extra for air con, as top floor is hot.
