I had read great reviews about Hotel d'Angleterre and decided to book it for a 4 night stay during a conference in May. I would like to start out by saying that this place surpassed all my expectations!!! I had contacted the hotel about an early check in. My flight arrived at 6:00 a.m. and while they could not accommodate me that early, they communicated it prior to my arrival and made very effort to get me a room as soon as possible. In fact, even before I entered the hotel , the doorman greeted me by my name and the staff offered a much needed warm welcome after a long international flight. The hotel is perfectly situated by the lake and I was able to take a nice long walk along the lake while I waited for my room. The room and bathroom were elegant, updated and impeccably clean. The Hotel is engulfed in history and houses tasteful artefacts. The concierge and staff are fabulous. Service went far above and beyond. After a busy conference day, it was like coming home to a houseful of friends. Although not commercially advertised , this hotel offers a rare but very special leisure activity. I was able to book a cycling trip around Lac Léman with François who is the engineer for the hotel but is also a professional cyclist and has his own racing team. François made every arrangement possible for the unprepared tourist- right from organizing a racing bicycle (for a rather short person) to the right shoes with toe clips and he may even have arranged for the perfect weather. I had a tight timeline but he made sure that we had a safe and most enjoyable 75 km ride and was then met by the affable and gracious general manager Jean-Vital Domezon who drove me back to the hotel so that I could make my next meeting. While Geneva is a great city, the reason I would come back to it is to stay at Hotel d'Angleterre one more time, and perhaps ride the whole Lake Lac Léman circuit with François. This is a gem of a place!

Reviewed By ritalaranjeiraClean and comfortable rooms, exceptional staff. The bed was very comfortable, but the rooms were not soundproof - I could hear everything around me - although this didn't diminish my experience all in all. Only breakfast could have had more options.

I arrived at about 830 in the morning after a 20-hour flight from Bangkok, fully expecting that I would need to wait until the afternoon for a room to be ready. However, Tommy at the desk found a room and made me feel super welcome, and I was able to get a bit of rest before my meeting the next day. For the remainder of the stay, the staff were friendly and flexible. The breakfast is comprehensive and tasty. The location is right downtown; two minutes walk from the central train station and three minutes walk from Lake Geneva. Thoroughly recommended for business or pleasure. Thank you

Beautiful Hotel with fabulous staff

The staff were super nice and found us a room with a free upgrade so we could have an extra bed for our little guy! our frowns were literally turned upside down in a matter of minutes! The room was beautiful - fully renovated with a marble bathroom, Molton Brown soaps and creams, fluffy towels, robes, slippers and comfy bed. It was the perfect combination of modern and cozy. And much larger than anticipated. The location is perfect - right next to the lake and a short walk to the train station. There is a spa in the basement with spotless clean hot tub, sauna and steam - also a small gym. Really a brilliant hotel full of charm and sophistication with all the modern comforts - without being snobby. Love it! Thank you - we hope to be back soon!

After very deep renovations (15 months) we are proud to announce our Hotel has just reopened its doors in August 2020 ! #87 quiet and comfy rooms with top of the art ventilation system (AC), sound proofed windows, heating wood carpet, eletrics blinds, complimentary minibars, in room coffee machine, free coffee and tea in lobby and top speed Wifi. Our charming hotel has now a lot more cachet and style and kept its amazing staff. Location remains one of the best in Geneva, facing the Central Station and main bus hub you can reach the Airport in less than 10min by train and UN center in the same time by tram. The lake is a 5min walk and can admired - including our Jet d'eau - from many rooms on 7th and 8th floors. Don't think twice for your hotel in Geneva ! See you soon!

Reviewed By apapapapa2022Everything was nice about the Hotel, it is located next to the train station - Cornavin, which takes you basically everywhere. It was a nice stay, with good quality of sleep. Stuff were really polite and friendly, ready to help.

Rooms as well appointed, and European sized. Added bonus was the pool/Sauna/hot tub. Stay was amazing! The best was Charlie the bartender! So friendly and fun with an amazing sense of humour. Makes wicked cocktails!

Passable for a night
Reviewed By Miles WWell located and reasonable breakfast - but really nothing to get very excited about. The front desk are rather officious rather than friendly. We were in a room on the 4th floor of the old building at the back. The lift was tiny and the decor, like all these MGallery hotels, was just a bit all over the place. They try to do shabby chic and come over as sleeping in your great grandmothers bedroom. The bathroom was a little dated and for some unknown the reason the restaurant was closed for dinner - and as everyone knows - Geneva closes at about 9pm - so we had to rush to an overpriced tourist trap. Breakfast was fine - and to be honest, the less time spent in Geneva is always a good thing so we were out by 9am - the only other gripe was asking for a taxi for my wife to Montreux as she had mobility issues and couldn’t take the train. The front desk get me a taxi for 400CHF which I was about to book before I checked Uber and got one for 200CHF.

Great location for our Geneva getaway
Reviewed By Jeff NThe Hotel Central was a great choice for us. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. We stayed in one of the apartments and found the rooms to be quite comfortable - excellent beds, quiet at night. Location was very good. The hotel staff were helpful even before we arrived in Switzerland, helping us find transportation and tours, great restaurants, all of which turned out to be spot-on. I would easily stay here again.
