My wife liked the clean room (down to the corners in the bathroom), I liked the basic but hot - fresh breakfast. The location is perfect for a trip to the Brainerd area. Far enough out to get away from the urban sprawl there, and right in the middle of the popular lakes. The Jenkins facility is also across the road from the excellent A-Pine restaurant. They serve old classics, a bit of new stuff, and creat pies.

Bad experience

My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) came here for our reservation from 3/27/22-3/28/22 (2 queen split room) Arrived at 4pm for check-in to a huge line of people being each told by the front desk that ‘they are not sure why’ but that housekeeping has not released any rooms for today’s check-ins. They gave us our waterpark passes and told us to put our luggage, winter coats and other stuff into lockers in the bathrooms for now. Yeah, I am sure that will all fit and so safe for our money and phones. They said they would call when our room was ready. Already annoyed, we decided to eat first at their restaurant hoping the room would be ready soon. One waitress working. An hour to eat there..and still no call regarding an update on our room. Walked to the front desk and they said all housekeeping staff just up and left, and that is why rooms were not cleaned, released, and ready for people to check in today…and they said the front desk people were cleaning rooms as quick as they could. (Yes, I would love a quickly-rushed cleaned room, sounds sooooo sanitary, right?!) We went to the water park and tried to change into our swimsuits in the bathroom which was very difficult since there is no place to set anything or sit while changing..and had to keep our luggage and wallets and phones on a shared long table in the waterpark area, where many others were doing the same since they also didn’t have a room to put their things in. All regular tables were either taken or disgustingly dirty as they were not cleaned after people left. And there were 3 “food staff” standing around doing literally nothing. Actually there was one was folding four towels at a time, and they were immediately taken by people who needed them and then there were no towels. We got in the packed pool which was literally so filthy. There floor had yellow film patches all over and the corners of the pool had large amounts of brown dirt/grime. One of the kiddie areas slides was boarded up and unusable. It was 7:15pm and STILL NO CALL regarding our room being ready, so we (with great difficultly) changed back into our clothes in the bathroom and walked to the front desk fuming of course. We demanded a refund, rightfully so, and asked what are they going to do about us not ever getting room or a call for an update?! The guy just said he has no idea what happened today and that he would get his general manager.. and then said, sorry he is not here, “I will have the general manager call you.” He said he cancelled our room and we would be refunded. We then had to drive over AN HOUR BACK HOME!! I will be watching my credit card closely to make sure the charges drop off since every employee that worked there today is so incompetent that I won’t hold my breath that I will be refunded properly. Every staff we encountered had no idea what to do with themselves, and no one actually seemed to care either. No sense of urgency to assist, remedy, offer compensation, or give people an update. What a horrible establishment. Never again!

Called the day prior to check in to request a handicap accessible room and was told not available. Upon check in, was told had I called the day prior we could have gotten one.

Our newly remodeled Super 8 is located right on hwy 371 north, by a variety of restaurants and shopping. We have a hot breakfast that includes make your waffles, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs and much more. Rooms also include free WIFI, cable and microwave and mini refrigerators. We are pet friendly with not fee, or size restrictions.

Reviewed By NicbramaWe decided to have a fun after Thanksgiving trip. Booked Sunday - Tuesday. The good: -Tree house suite is great! Fit our whole family. Kids had separate room and has it's own TV and Xbox. Little kitchenette space too. -gal at the front desk was Nice -breakfast had good selections -kids had a blast in the waterpark while it was open -rooms seem clean The bad: -had no idea the waterpark and laser tag was only open Friday- Sunday night! Closed all Monday. We could go in the river, hot tub, and regular pool, but that was it. The splash pad wasn't even on. Wish we had known before we booked. Not worth the cost when you don't even get to use the waterpark. -waterpark is VERY rundown and needs to be updated and renovated. You can see all over where things are broken or missing, paint peeling, stained, etc -whole place seems to need updating, although our room was ok. I wouldn't stay here again unless updated. Just not sure it's worth the money.
