Lovely hotel run by a lovely couple
Reviewed By D4695UJpetercHad a very pleasant stay here earlier this month, thanks mainly to the owners who were very friendly and helpful. My room was a good size, clean, with a comfortable bed and the continental breakfast was generous. Nicely situated, overlooking a park, not far from the railway station. For a 2 star, it was excellent.

Clean, comfortable, helpful
Reviewed By Chris WLocated in a quiet part of this small town outside Beziers, but with a good restaurant - La Boufanelle - within walking distance. Several of us stayed for a night in mid August on our way to somewhere else. Rooms clean and modern with good spacious bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. Good air conditioning in the rooms, which was vital with the temperature in the 30s and the pool was maintained at a perfect temperature. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay there again if doing a similar trip.

Pros: - Excellent price point for a double ensuite with a balcony and a small kitchen (55 euro) - A/C - Very clean, quiet, secure - Kind, helpful staff - Kitchenette included all necessities for a few nights: kettle, refrigerator, stovetop, cutley, glassware - Strong free wifi Cons: - There were outlets, but hidden behind the nightstands. We had to move furniture. - It's not a great location- it is a 15-minute walk uphill to the center of town. This hotel is more on the outskirts - Very sterile, corporate/hospital vibe Overall, I recommend if you want a kitchenette. Otherwise, I'd recommend staying closer to town at the Ibis Budget at this price point.

Reviewed By smiddl783080We stayed 4 nights in the hotel. It is very stylishly designed and well maintained and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. There are items of artwork inside and on the outside walls of the hotel.

Small, basic, clean
Reviewed By star557799The rooms are small but very clean. Good wifi. The a/c wasn't on yet, but there was a window to open, so the room was comfortable at night. Would be nice to have an electric kettle in the room with coffee/tea setups. The breakfast was fine, but fruit would have been a nice addition. You can bring in food for other meals and eat in the breakfast room.

Reviewed By ekkehart2022We had a very good night at Campanile Chalon sur Saone. The entree with Mr. Mbaerek was absolutely perfect, the reservated groundfloor room (we have 2 dogs) was wonderful cooled down and spaceful, fully eqipped. All about the petite dejeuner was perfect. Everytime again.

Acceptable, but could do much better

It is away from the town nearer to industrial estates so is more suited as a stop-over rather than for a holiday. Our trip was very stressful due to the circumstances especially with COVID regulations causing us travel issues. On entering our room the disappointment was the straw that broke the camel's back and my wife was reduced to tears. It had wood chip on the ceiling and all 4 walls and the room looked as though it had not been modernised since the 70's Once over this shock we accepted that it was just somewhere to stay and got on with what we needed. Reception staff were not especially cheerful and weren't especially helpful when we needed advice regarding obtaining last minute covid tests To balance this the bed was fine, the air conditioning worked nicely and the bathroom, although old, functioned ok with a basic over bath shower. There was a TV but no fridge, safe or anything else. Storage was minimal The grounds were fine with a nice pool and relaxation area and a reasonable restaurant. The bar had a small selection of beers and spirits but was ok, parking was plentiful and free. I expected road noise but this turned out not to be an issue. The hotel is clearly very tired and scruffy inside, carpets very worn, walls marked and damaged but, as stated, it served it's purpose for what we needed. just to add cleaning of the grounds and front of hotel was poor with rubbish and cigarette butts everywhere. To summarise. If you want a basic hotel for a short stop then this serves it's purpose if driving. Not a family holiday hotel and definitely needs thorough cleaning and refurbishment.

Reviewed By mrobac526935That was Ok for one night. I stayed one night only, looking for something not too expensive with a reception open late. Some hotels have no reception, and if they are isolated it can be a problem. I did not have a french Iphone.

Nice rooms and good location if you're on a stopover.

They don't know hospitality

So, the beds are too small for Europeans. When you take a shower and someone else takes one too, the water becomes cold. When other guests leave their room, it's so noisy you will be awake immediately. But the biggest thing: i have a lactose and histamine intolerancy, so i eat vegan. I can not have dairy, Meat or chicken, because i will be very ill. We thought they would have breakfast options, because they were so expensive and had good reviews. NOTHING. Only Cheese, Meat, butter and breadrolls from which they could not tell if there was butter in it. "We have croissants, we have cereals (i had to tell the Girls you eat that with Milk or yoghurt), they even did not have soymilk or other plantbased Milk. We wanted to change our reservation from 'with' to without breakfast and get a refund. NO. "You booked with breakfast through Booking, so you can't get a refund". You had to tell us when you booked. We did upon arrival the evening befor. The girl wrote a note in front of me, but the guy this morning just lied and said she did not do that! I could not understatement him well, so i told him to speak uo better because i could not understatement him. He told me when i spoke French i would understand him! He even said that he did not want to have a conversation like this. What an arrogance! He basically told me that i had to eat the things which would have let me end up in hospital! The worst thing? They have a tapas menu with all kinds of vegan things, but they don't serve that in the morning. "No, we can't do that, we serve that aftershave 5 pm" What a horrible place and people and they do not know what hospitality is. We left with a feeling of being unwanted as a paying customer. It even makes us question the concept of French hospitality and we know now that the French do not know modern cuisine.
