Charming cottage

Reviewed By ozzie2010

We recently enjoyed 3 nights at Amy’s 1 cottage, opting for the package including breakfast provisions and a bottle of wine. Firstly, Auburn is a great location for a Clare Valley holiday - the southern gateway to the region, a lovely historic town and several excellent options for food, drink, coffee (Velvet and Willow with great coffee, and stunning garden), the Rising Sun for a meal or drink, Auburn Terroir; the Riesling Trail and an easy drive to nearby towns, wineries. Amy’s House is in a quiet and tree lined street, a stroll to the main road, but a world away from the traffic. Amy’s 1 is the 1 bedroom option, with a well equipped kitchenette, dine, lounge, single bedroom, modern bathroom. All very nicely kept and lots of thoughtful touches. Comfortable bed, heating/ cooling plus wood fire, spa bath, rain shower. Books, movies, candles, outdoor setting, really lovely. Breakfast provisions were great, milk, juice, yoghurt, muesli, eggs, bacon, bread, condiments. Excellent. A really nice stay, recommended.

Great Value

Reviewed By Retirementnbeyond

I spent a couple of days here over the weekend. Great value for money, very clean and comfy rooms inside the pub. Quiet even when there's a function on. Continental breakfast in each room was great. The staff were absolutely lovely. I'd love to see a salad or a bit better menu but other than that you can't go past staying here whilst in the Clare Valley.

Don't stay in hot weather

While the rooms are mostly what you would expect the one exception is the air conditioning control. Paid for the room and was then advised would have to get out of bed every 2 hours to press a wall button for the air conditioning to run. The temperature was 40 degrees.

Annabelle's Cottage

Charming accommodation in a well placed location

Reviewed By Denise B

THANK YOU to Trip Advisor for adding Annabelle's Cottage after I submitted it to you for consideration. This accommodation is just fabulous. You can choose between staying in the modern wing or the old stone cottage, which are joined by a shared laundry. As we were a group of friends visiting Auburn from Perth for a wedding, we rented the entire premises. (The other Reviewer thus far, Paul H., was one of our travel companions). After looking at the Cottage online before our trip, I thought I wanted to have one of the new rooms with ensuite, but on walking through for the first time, fell in love with the smallest bedroom without even a wardrobe. It is the one with the two single beds, but they had been pushed together and we slept beautifully and the wall hooks and provision of coat hangers made it a perfectly comfortable and functional room even for a couple. The energy in the cottage is just divine ?❤. It was not only neat and clean and had beautiful modern facilities, but also had everything provided to start the day, including nespresso machines/pods and everything for a continental breakfast. IGA is on the next street corner and you can buy and be self sufficient or explore any of the restaurants/wineries/cafes in the Clare Valley region and discover not only great food and wines and historic sites but also an abundance of friendly locals wherever you go. There were some Wi-Fi issues which had nothing to do with the accommodation and there were plenty of brochures and maps provided to get you started on exploring the region. Paul and us stayed in the old 1860 cottage which is where the photos were taken. The other wing is very modern. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED ANNABELLE'S COTTAGE and would like to return and take more time to explore the area.

Quaint and stylish little abode

We had a delightful time for 3 nights at this accommodation. It is stylishly decorated in an old renovated building off the main street of Auburn. Though our room was cozy it was still very comfortable. Loved the pot belly stove and spa bath.

A wonderful relaxing stay - with personal service touches!

Reviewed By Michael S

Our family had a really wonderful stay at One Tree Bed and Breakfast : The Retreat. Upon arrival, the modest exterior belies the beautifully appointed interior. Tastefully furnished with every mod-con and spotlessly clean, the incredible attention to small details such as personalised welcome notes and generous inclusions of organic chocolates, wines, extensive breakfast provisions and more makes guests feel very special. After sitting in the outdoor jacuzzi, I felt so relaxed. Highly recommend this property for couples or for families with one/two children. 5 Stars
