As you would expect, The Mountain State displays rustic charm with dramatic river gorges, large limestone caverns and spectacular mountain views. West Virginia hosts outdoor enthusiasts and family vacationers looking for fresh-air activities and serene mountain atmosphere. If stimulating city holidays are your preference, Charleston combines warm hospitality with a lovely riverside location. A family-friendly destination, you’ll discover children’s theatre, river park recreation and popular Bridge Road for shopping and dining. Smaller towns blend outdoor adventure with quaint village atmospheres. Set between the New, Greenbrier and Bluestone Rivers, Hinton is an historic rail town filled with turn-of-the-century architecture and a host of water activities at its doorstep – rafting, fishing, kayaking and more. In the heart of West Virginia, Summersville is a “Mountain Water Playground.” Its lakeside location encourages outdoor recreation from swimming and boating to scuba diving and rafting. And history buffs can trace Civil War battles throughout the states historic sites and state parks. Hiking or horseback riding along trails through deep hardwood forests is another family favorite, especially when you stop for a picnic along a clear mountain stream.

The Seneca offers accommodation in Snowshoe's Village. It is located along the village plaza adjacent to a wide variety of shopping and dining options. The Seneca offers guests very spacious units ranging from studios to a six bedroom unit; many with spectacular valley views on the western side of the complex and plaza views on the front side of the building and is only a short walk to the slopes. All units feature gas fireplaces and balcony or patio access, and all units are air conditioned. Jr. Studios offer a kitchenette while all other units offer full kitchens. The Seneca also features such amenities as free high speed WiFi, Direct TV, a garden patio with a very large outdoor spa / hot tub and an outdoor fireplace for your enjoyment and relaxation. Guests can also enjoy a small exercise area with cardio and workout machines and sauna, laundry facilities, a beautiful Hearth Room with big screen projection TV, and secure ski lockers.
We surprised our kids with a Christmas ski trip (12/26-12/30) and booked at Seneca after seeing other reviews about the location near the slopes, village, shuttle pickup for Silvercreek, and the underground parking. I knew it was going to be busy so we arrived around 3:30pm on Saturday to check in at Top of the World. Waited in line while the kids played in the snow that was dumped before we arrived. Picked up room (#215 Deluxe Studio facing the village) key, locker code, and lift tickets from the friendly staff. Pulled into the heated underground garage and unloaded the truck. Room was tight but had a pull out sofa bed, queen bed, full kitchen, gas fireplace, and a balcony. The TV/DVD player were a mess and in a squirrels nest of cables but I bought a firestick. We connected it to the wifi and we were good for the trip. We planned to eat in the room for most meals and bought lots of frozen chilli, deer meat for tacos/spaghetti, and bacon/sausage to keep the other food in the coolers cold on the way up on our 10 hour drive. Balcony was great for keeping drinks cold and watching all the people try out their skis on from the rental location which was just steps away. The closet was small but we just brought extra heavy hangers for the ski gear to dry out while the ground floor ski lockers fit all of our equipment except our boots (family of 5). We did not really notice the outside noise, snowplows, or blowers but they were running while we were there. Plan to go back sometime this season and hope we time the weather right again. Hopefully there will be me more places open to eat at in the village but I plan to bring food to save money. If you have a down day when not on the slopes go to the Cheat Mountain hiking trail behind the water towers up near Soaring Eagle Lodge which looks like its straight out of the Narina movies.

Located in Village Central adjacent to the Ballhooter lift with ski-in/ski-out convenience. Village shops, restaurants and the Split Rock Pool & Hot Tubs are nearby. Mountain Lodge features private adjacent parking lot, comfortable lobby with large fireplace and scenic overlooks. Complimentary building-wide Wi-Fi broadband internet access is provided. Also featured is a dedicated electronic game roomand indoors "Little Tykes" children's play area. All enclosed common areas and most condos are non-smoking. Auntie Pasta's restaurant and the Comedy Cellar share the Lower Level.Mountain Lodge offers one, two and (a few) three bedroom condos. Most have queen beds & queen sleeper sofas. All condos feature well stocked fully equipped kitchens and walkout balconies.
This place is less desirable that others in the area. Reminds me of Cheap hotels. Outdated, basic lodge. Vending machines were all empty. The place at night was sooo hot! No air conditioning and the beds were awful.

Two and three bedroom townhomes located just a short walk away from the Ballhooter Lift and trail system. Also close to the Village area. Fully-equipped kitchen, washer / dryer, balcony and gas fireplaces.
We travel A LOT and I have NEVER worked so hard to find a venue to leave a bad review. This townhome is actual not horrible as my "1" would make you think. It is VERY dated and creaky but has a decent layout for our 2 families to get some together time and some skiing. Good kitchen space and "utensils". The bathrooms are small but functional and it is, for sure, nice to have 2. HOWEVER, upon our arrival we checked in down the road as instructed and drove the next few miles up the mountain to the resort area to arrive/unpack/get settled. NO biggee....until we arrived at our unit, dropped our stuff and went off to find our rental equipment. Upon arriving back at our rental we discoved that the upstairs bathroom toilet was covered in poo - like someone had a explosion and the cleaning people didn't notice! So I called the number on our paper work that said "if you get locked out, or have a problem, or....." - no answer and rings to a man's voice on a machine that says "sorry if you have reached this the reservations staff if busy so please call back in a few minutes or email us at reser......" - no way to leave a message, no way to report an emergency (this obviously wasn't but what if we were indeed locked out??) so I sent the email there and to another email I had from our reservation and proceeded to call back every 15 min for hours. Then I tried another email and 2 different private Facebook and continued calling all evening until late. Woke in the am and still no response!! And continued to call until nearly 10 when someone actually called the landline in the unit (there is no cell service here! ) and I answered to a woman who made several excuses, blamed her boss and sent the cleaning lady back about 4 hours later without even an apology. WHAT WOULD WE HAVE DONE WITH A REAL EMERGENCY??? I asked this to deaf ears. DO NOT stay with Casago.com aka snowshoevacationrentals.com if you may want to have some peace of mind during your stay!

Standard, junior studio, studio, one and two bedroom units located in the heart of Snowshoe's Village just steps from the slopes and the Ballhooter Lift. Units offer spectacular western vistas and village plaza views. All units except Junior Studios and Traditional Hotel Rooms have full kitchens; Juniors have efficiency kitchens. All rooms feature: High speed wireless internet connection, TV, Gas fireplaces, outside hot tubs with sunset views, exercise room, sauna, vending and laundry facilities, underground parking and air conditioning. Rimfire also has secure lockers for ski equipment storage and a Starbucks located right off the lobby.
Rimfire is the best location and lodging in Snowshoe…enjoy! Underground parking. Next to all the restaurants. Western Rocky Mountain feel on the east coast. Apparently I must bloviate more to submit this because “not enough characters “ according to trip advisor….bottom line…have stayed multiple places Rimfire by FAR the best at Snowshoe!!

Offering junior studio, two bedroom, two bedroom with den, and three bedroom condos, Expedition Station's contemporary styling offers a completely new lodging alternative for guest at Snowshoe. Junior studios and two-bedroom units are equipped with an efficiency kitchen. Junior studios sleep 2-4 people, with a select few that only sleep 2 and some units will have a pull-down Murphy bed. All units are air conditioned.
We decided on our short trip to tubing to stay overnight and fortunately found a room at Expedition Station. To be up front - rentals at Snowshoe are EXPENSIVE, and Expedition Station is actually at the cheap end but it will still run over $300/night during ski season, of which $140 is some kind of fee. It's not a hotel but instead a condo with hotel-style rental. There's no lobby which is the only big drawback - you have to drive down to Slaty Fork (about 5 miles) to pick up your keys. Also the checkin is late (4pm) and checkout early (10am) so prepare around that. But other than that, we found the place to be great. The room is very cozy but spacious and the kitchenette is well stocked with what you need (non-food, so bring yours). Because we eat special diets (gluten and dairy free) we almost always have to cook and this place made it easy. There's a HUGE TV to watch with plenty of channels and internet hookup, and every room has it's own Wifi router. The king bed was super comfortable - probably the best I've ever had in a hotel. The only downside was that the the pullout sofa was busted so we had to work around that but not too bad.

Awesome, helpful and courteous staff. The maintenance man Travis even drove me down the mountain in a snow storm to get groceries. Our first trip to West Virginia. This resort made quite an impression on both me and my husband. Thank you.

Impressive one and two bedroom units located on Highland Ridge offering glorious eastern views of the basin and the Village at Snowshoe. Powderidge is slope side adjacent to the Powderidge lift and trail system with a moderate walk to the Village at Snowshoe. Private parking, washer / dryer, fully equipped kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, large balcony and small hydrospa tub (in some units).
Comfy bed, clean, bigger than I had imagined, convenient wet room, and directly across from the shuttle pick up. All around great condo. Kitchen was well stocked with all necessary items needed for dining and cooking.

Camp Four units have spectacular views of the Snowshoe Village and surrounding Allegheny Mountain. These rustic units offer guests a private escape yet provide easy access to all of Snowshoe's amenities. The units have private parking and hot tub complex adjacent to unit. Camp Four units are ski in / ski out with the Camp Four trail. Gas fireplace, fully-equipped kitchens, washer / dryer and private outdoor hot tub facility at complex.
We went on a ski trip with about 8 friends, we stayed in the Camp Four town homes, they are beautiful, well kept, modern and cozy. Next time I would try to stay in the village instead. Staying in the village is much more convenient and you dont have to keep catching a shuttle back to your village. But definitely enjoyed myself and would definitely go back again!

One, three and four bedroom units offering breathtaking sunsets! Located slopeside to the Western Territory, the Sundown Hutches are the perfect location for the skiing enthusiasts ready to challenge Cupp Run and Shays Revenge. The Hutches are a moderate walk to the Shavers Centre and Village Plaza, but offer relatively easy access to the Western Territory. Washer / dryer, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, and outside deck.
Nothing short of amazing can describe the views alone! I was there from a Wednesday thru Sunday with family joining me for the weekend. We only left the hutch for breakfast Saturday at Route 66 at the base of the mountain, which was almost as amazing as the view. I wish I could attach more than 10 photos as I literally took hundreds. Spectacular
