One night stay
Reviewed By edzg01Good location, city can be easily acessed from here. Staff is very nice. Main road is close which can be good but can also result in some noise fue to traffic. Apartment on the first floor where we stayed offers two rooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette. Main disadvantage is the lack of clothes dryer, especially since a stay at the coast implies getting your swimwear wet. Getting it dry will be a serious challenge here. The same applies to your towels after taking a shower. Although the bathroom is pretty spacey, you have nowhere to hang your clothes - two hooks are provided on the bathroom door but since the apartment is intended for up to 5 people this can prove to be a serious trouble. If someone leaves the towel there you won't be able to place your towel and clothes anywere in the bathroom... not in a usual way anyway. It is good to get creative at this point. One great advantage are the extra long beds which acommodate the needs of tall people (meaning 6ft/2m height). Due to relatively higher prices, we expected no difficulties in a task so simple as drying your clothes/towels. Some bars for hanging towels in the bathroom would come in handy, too.

The magnificent story of this Opatija villa began back in 1890 when it was built as an annexe to the Hotel Kvarner. The Villa Amalia (4*) in Opatija, Croatia, is situated right by the sea along the famous Lungomare seafront promenade. Surrounded by a lush green park dotted with Mediterranean and exotic plants, it soon became a popular winter health resort for the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy. This villa was also the favourite choice of the German imperial family and the charismatic American dancer Isadora Duncan, who found inspiration for her dance movements in the fluttering of the palms that grew next to the villa. The Opatija sculptor Tatjana Kostanjević created a sculpture of her that is today situated in front of the villa. The Villa Amalia is located next to the Hotel Kvarner, and its guests can enjoy all the hotel's services and amenities, including conference halls, an outdoor pool and the hotel beach.

Reviewed By Manfredo987Room is fine and large. The view is very good. The staff is o.k. Breakfast is very good. But the noice from the disco nearby you can forget. They should go to the Ballermann or somewhere. Not to Opatija. Sorry. I could not sleep most of the night.

Wonderful stay at beautiful apartment
Reviewed By miabella8We spent 7 nights at this lovely house in the hills. We stayed in a beautifully decorated apartment with excellent facilities. The view is spectacular and everything is incredibly well maintained. The owners were absolutely delightful and made us feel so welcome, even inviting us to join them for a late lunch when we arrived. The location is great and is within easy reach of many many sights, including Rovinj and the hilltop villages which are well worth a visit. I really cannot fault this property. A car really is essential to get around and maximise your time in the area.

Reviewed By anjutka_2001Очень хорошие апартаменты. Находятся в 5 - 7 минутах ходьбы от центра Опатии. Очень чистые с современной мебелью, есть кухня со всеми принадлежностями. Также есть кондиционер, фен, телевизор, гели для душа. Балкон с видом на море. Хозяева приветливые и неназойливые. В апартаменты к нам на протяжении всего нашего прибывания никто не заходил. Для гостей есть парковка, хотя парковаться на ней достаточно сложно большой наклон.

The location was great, just a few steps down to the main Lungomare seafront. There was a supermarket next door and a car park. The bed wasn't that comfortable

Mixed bag
Reviewed By Gordon MIf a central location is important then Villa Devana might be a good choice for you. There are some challenges though: If you have a lot of luggage be aware the apartments (there are three of them) are fully 83 steps up from the rear car park. Or 55 steps from the front door. Antonio is the property manager. We found him quite friendly and helpful but he doesn't live on site, so you best call him about 30 minutes before arrival - then he can meet you with the keys (not sure what you'd do if you don't have a phone). Antonio also gave us a key card which provided secure parking in a multi level car park located 400 metres away. Or you might be able to park directly behind the complex if there is space available. On arrival we noticed the bed sheets were too small for the actual bed. Fortunately the hall closet was unlocked when we arrived so we changed over the sheets with some that fitted properly. The unit we had is sunny but faced the busy road, so it was very noisy with the windows open. And without the windows open there is no ventilation. The a/c works well though. The bathroom is small and the toilet is badly positioned near the wash basin, so it is hard to sit on for taller people. It would be better located where the bidet is - or dare I say better if the bidet was removed altogether in this case. No problems with the shower, which is new. Nowhere to hang towels though. We stayed four nights and the room was not serviced during our stay, which is OK for us but some may not like this. The kitchenette is very small and not well equipped. What is there is mostly odds and ends, so you won't be doing much food preparation if you get the unit we had. Fortunately the best restaurants in town are directly across the road! If you can work with all this then Villa Devana should be fine for you :-)

Bad, dirty, insects, rude owner
Reviewed By peja30We could not even stay the first night becouse as soon as checked in the room was dirty and full of big insects that we had to kill ourselves. Was late night evening and had a tough day but after the forth we found we kindly said that to the owner lady that this was too much and we decided to find a plan b somewhere else. But even in front of evidences her son called us and was super rude. He didnt want to refund us fully or partially. Not even a sorry, not even a try to understand that the guest dont want to sleep with cucarachas, but just trying to find arrogant excuses like if he was on the right side. Poor him. Stay away from this dirty Vila, you can definetly find smth better around there!

Reviewed By 520michaelfTolles Apartment das sehr gut eingerichtet ist für 4 Personen mit komfortabelen Doppelbett und einem ausziehbarem Schlaf-Sofa. Alle Apartments haben einen tollen Blick auf das Meer mit einem kleinen Hafen. Am Pool hatten die Kinder ihren Spaß. In der Nähe befinden sich ein Zugang ins Meer und tolle Restaurants und Bars.

Reviewed By Елена МЭто было последней точкой нашего большого путешествия, поэтому приехали мы крепко измученные красотами Италии))) Это обычный трехэтажный частный дом, переделанный в гостиницу. Хозяева тоже в нем живут и, соотвественно, занимаются обслуживанием. Хочу сразу предупредить: если вы не оплатили номер заранее, то карточки в данном месте не принимаются!!! У нас был номер на верхнем этаже с видом на море. Красиво! хотя балкон очень маленький. Номер очень большой и в нем есть все: кухня, душевая кабина, большая кровать и большой диван, обеденный стол. Из недостатков - слабый интернет. Мы не брали еду, так как много ресторанов и магазинов в округе. Пляж плохой. Мы ездили на центральный пляж в Опатию.
