Nice hotel, good location
Reviewed By D5025DVluciapI visited this hotel in 2018. It is a nice hotel, big and confortable rooms. Very good location near the lake and near a lot of restaurants and shops. We have an inconvenience staying here. One night at 3 am while sleeping, a man came into the room from the balcony and robbed some of our stuff. We made the police complaint. At first he is caught by the hotel camaras walking down the hallway of our floor. Then, he enters from outside (balcony). So PLEASE! Check that your windows and balcony door are closed. If the locks are damaged and do not close correctly as ours, I recommend you to ask for another room. It was not a first floor, and the man entered anyway. Without taking that into account, I recommend the hotel. Nice food and breakfast, spacious room, and very good location.

HUGELY overpriced - facilities are more like a hostel
Reviewed By 123JessicaHThis place vastly overcharged for its “services” - my room was cold and damp, the bed was terrible, my “room with a view” overlooked a construction site on one side and a paved courtyard where religious ceremonies start at 5am on the other, and there was no hot water. I’m told the “no hot water” is typical in Kathmandu, and that would be fine if this place was priced accordingly but $75/night is WAY too much to pay for the “privilege” of splashing yourself with water you boiled in a tea kettle. My room rate was also supposed to include breakfast every day. It says so explicitly on the Expedia booking form. I was told when I arrived that this was incorrect and if I wanted food I could buy it at the restaurant. Would caution everyone that if you stay here, you are drastically overpaying - basically it is hotel prices for a hostel experience.

Reviewed By adeelakhan79Excellent experience! Lovely people! The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. The apartment was comfortable, clean and well maintained throughout my stay. The residence is quite centrally located and is walking distance from many restaurants, offices and Patan Darbar Square. There are several grocery stores in close proximity, an excellent fruit market outside and a restaurant inside the Residence. I throughly enjoyed staying in Sarovar and will not look elsewhere when visiting Kathmandu again.

Charming old home at an unbeatable location, but a bit rough around the edges
Reviewed By The Good Life WIf you want to stay close to Kathmandu's durbar square, you can't get closer than this. And if you want the feel of staying in a traditional home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel, this place is for you. You'll have to make a few compromises, though, because this comes with all the little imperfections that 'home' implies. Pros: - You can't get closer to the durbar square than this. In fact, their garden has a door opening onto the square's temple complex. - Very charming old property converted into a boutique hotel, with wooden floors and ceilings. - On clear days, you can see the snow-capped mountains from the roof. - Good food, served in a number of different seating areas: quadrangle, garden, restaurant and dining room. - Friendly and enthusiastic service staff, especially the always-smiling Sanjeeba. - 24-hour hot water in the bathroom (though you have to run the water quite a while for it to run hot) Cons: - Our room was decorated a bit like someone's home, with slightly kitsch bric-a-brac (though that added to the atmosphere, so it might be a 'pro', not a 'con' depending on your point of view) - Our room and bathroom could have been slightly cleaner. - Overall maintenance could be better - There was no phone in our room. There was one in the corridor outside, but that didn't work. We ended up having to call the reception from our own phone for room service. - It was a bit cold and drafty in our room, and the little heater didn't really warm the room properly (we visited in December). Overall, if you revise your expectations a bit, this is a nice place to stay.

Dreamland Gold Resort is situated in the southern belt of the country 8 kilometers to the south from Butwal, a business hub in the western Nepal, and at arm's length from the Bhairahawa Airport which has several flights in a day from Kathmandu and is about a 30 minute fly from the capital. The location enjoys many sorts of means of transportation on land also. Located sequestered from the bustling urban centers, this is a getaway to an idyllic holiday experience. Away from the heat, smog and roaring traffic, your joy with a lot of personal space is overpowering and sheer dynamism of rural location is intoxicating.
NOT the Dream Land BUT the Mosquitoes Land.
Reviewed By Moti KThe room was full of mosquitoes, me and my wife had to stay awake all night trying to save our infant from mosquitoes. Asked them to switch the room but they said this is not an option. This is the place where I spent many nights in the past in the rooms & in the Casino. I thought I deserve their ‘sorry’ in the morning after explaining the experience all night but they still had their attitude. They didn’t even apologize for their mistakes. Staff over the front counter should be trained properly. I at least should have informed about the possible mosquitoes before picking that room for me & I’m sure they knew this situation.

My guest house have 13 hotel rooms with fancy attached toilet, 3 studio apartments with kitchens, 1 two bedroom apartment with kitchen and dining. 3 - twin rooms, 7 deluxe rooms with queen beds etc. Facilities: 24 hrs wifi, hot and cold, including laundry, full option washing machine, B&B, Back up lights etc.

With this standard in Kathmandu, the room facilities are simple but well-cleaned. The staff members are all helpful and willing to help you when needed. You can enjoy tea on the rooftop on a sunny day. There is a community forest park with many wild birds nearby and you can enjoy walking from early morning. I did not eat any meals at the guest house, but there are Nepalese, Vietnamese, Chinese, French, cafe, etc. in the surrounding area and it is convenient. To the Thamel, you can go only around NRP100-150. Recommended.
