10 Resorts in Nepal: Best hotel deals for 2023

May 3, 2023 Sheron Bogner

The near otherworldly Himalayan kingdom of Nepal can trace its history back to the 7th century and the arrival of Kirati sheepherders. Today, misty temples perch on rugged ridges, monasteries peer over deep valleys, faded by centuries, and Kathmandu's Old City brims with ancient Buddhist temples and ornate palaces.

It is quite a difficult journey from Kathmandu to the hotel, and I was really glad we had a driver as the road is in a terrible condition The hotel is located on the side of a hill directly facing the Himalaya range . For most of the time we were there, all but one or two mountains were covered in cloud but when the cloud lifted for short periods, the view of the full range was unforgettable The hotel has an excellent decking area to have a coffee and look at the scenery The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable And again are all facing the mountains Meals were buffet service and were satisfactory rather than good. It is not the fault of the hotel but the manners of some of the guests at the buffet left a lot to be desired, pushing to get in front as if they thought that the food was going to run out. Other than that we enjoyed our visit to this hotel

Maybe not the most modern hotel in the world, but still excellent

We stayer two nights and had all our meals in the hotel. The unique location is certainly a huge asset for this facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. All requests where fulfilled promtly and to our satisfaction. The rooms are not very modern, but our standard room was large, very clean and comfortable. The pool has a decent size and is clean. The service in the SPA area was great and we had two massages which we enjoyed. The extensive menue at the restaurant provided a large selection of meals both local and international. Though there was a good selection of cocktails at the bar, there where only three wines available, one of the white wines was sold out on the first night. As well as soda water (but that happend also at other places, except in Kathmandu). Though we were unable to spot the mountains from the hotel, it provided us with a great two last nights after out trekking trip.

Bad experience

I booked the package through abhivadan expedition holidays Pvt Ltd. The agents from abhivadan are not supportive and thrive for money. They never see comfort of the travellers. I highly recommend travellers not to go with this agent. About hotel, the staff were saying something and do something different. The food was also not good enough. After checking out from the hotel, I tried to contact them for some queries but they didn’t responded. I do not recommend travellers to visit chitwan as it’s waste of time to go for “jungle safari” as you only can see deers and sometimes rhinos. The better to visit Kaziranga national park in India for tigers and rhinos and many other wild animals. There is nothing else in chitwan. The village site seeing is the worst as even any guide don’t know properly anything and the people in the village are much modern now. About the agent from abhivadan, I just fed up with them.

Stayed here on business. Staff were very helpful, arranged collection from the airport, a meeting room for the afternoon as well as having our rooms ready early. Rooms were large with comfortable beds and were clean and tidy on arrival. The electric points are a bit sketchy and struggled with an adapter plug and plug attached. The bathroom was large and shower worked well, nice and warm good pressure. We had lunch on the bar terrace which was very nice and reasonably priced. Staff were attending to a large wedding at the time but still the food did not take too long to arrive. We arranged a forest walk with a guide for the following morning. Deepak arrived in good time and took us on a lovely walk where we saw monkeys, eagles and deer, Deepak ensured our footwear was protected from the leeches in the forest and regularly checked on us through the walk. It was a really enjoyable experience and set us up for a day of meetings in Kathmandu. The location is on the outskirts of the city which made it nice and quiet away from the traffic. Breakfast was very nice with freshly made omelette and a coninteal style help yourself fayre. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others. Thanks to all the staff at Gokarna.

We had a great guide, Janak Pariyar, who was very dedicated to ensuring that we had a very good wildlife experience in Chitwan. Janak worked tirelessly to ensure that we were in the park at the best times possible and in the best positions to see wildlife. After the long days were over, he would come back and help us fill out our species list which was much appreciated. He knew all the birds and mammals in the area and was able to spot things that were very difficult to see. He did a great job. Friendly staff and good food made my vacation to explore Chitwan National park very successful and enjoyable. We stayed there for just over a week and the rooms were clean and the eating area overlooks a river and a field where you can sometimes see elephants bathing in the water!

Nice concept

This is a pretty place with extremely wonderful staff, they are always ready to help and with a smile. The food is yum, especially the Nepali thali. The rooms / villa is neat and clean. The drawback / Usp could be the creepy crawlies like lizard, leeches and frogs in the open bathrooms. If one is comfortable with nature and insects in the bathroom it is great, if not then it will be scary. They do come and throw them out immediately. Lizard in the dining room could also be a put off for many. The jungle safari was too good, the naturalist mr Chowdhary knew his job well, Surinder drove well. Mr Nandu was also good in the first safari. In all we saw 7 Rhinos, monkeys, monitor lizard, deers and many birds. The picnic breakfast and iced tea in the middle of the jungle was quite an experience. A memorable trip

Pokhara's Waterfront Resort lies on the tranquil rural northern shore of the beautiful Phewa Lake. With supremely comfortable, air-conditioned en-suite rooms, each with a lake-view balcony, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The food is really good, we enjoyed a lot the restaurant and the breakfast is also very nice. The room is new, comfortable and nice, good view, we stayed in the standard which is on the building still under construction so the noise starts very early. Disliked · The standard room is very nice but in the middle of the construction, so the noise starts very early and at night it is a bit dark to get there. Everything else is good.
